Captain B was awesome. We weren't sure what to expect going into it, but the knowledge and stories he shared on the tour were awesome. I would 100% recommend this tour for any group of coworkers.
Stacie_W, May 2026
This tour exceeded all expectations and delivered precisely as advertised. Captain B. was an exceptional guide, demonstrating a vast knowledge base. Each stop was made remarkably engaging and enjoyable due to the presentation. It was a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend this excursion.

One of the best tours we’ve ever taken! Lots of fun and entertaining. Great group with starting and ending in a local bar.

We had such a wonderful time with Captain B! We can’t wait to come back and do more tours with him. He added such value and had us still thinking about what he shared with us on the tour. Highly recommend his tour to anyone who is looking for a great tour. Can’t say enough good things about this tour and how much value he added to our trip. Thank you for a great experience Cpt. B!!

Bryan was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. We were able to see the oldest bar that was in the city before prohibition.

Adam was great! Very knowledgeable on the history of the city. He was chill and fun with our group. So glad we booked this!
Monica_K, Apr 2026
Bryan is deeply knowledgeable not only about Charleston's history but also how that 'local' (sometimes obscure) story has affected US history in important ways. Bryan 's storytelling kept us all engaged and entertained. My husband and friends highly recommend him.

This is a unique tour. Adam did a great job. Even made a stop inside the oldest theater and “pick” church. Very knowledgeable and a fun trait starting in a bar and ending in one - allows you a chance to meet some nice folks on your tour and trade some stories. Final destination is the Blind Tiger - very cool outdoor space and my wife and I aren’t even big drinkers. This tour is for everyone

Captain Bryan did a great job sharing a lot of detailed historic info. He is a local so he had interesting details to add. We had fun checking out the pubs at the beginning and end.

Such a great way to start our weekend in Charleston. We loved our history and hops tour - perfect amount of history and exploring downtown along with some amazing cocktails! Captain Brian was the highlight to the tour, he was so knowledgeable and friendly. We found ourselves sharing what we learned with the rest of our friends after the tour.. Loved that it was a small group (only 8 of us!) We highly recommend this tour w Captain Brian.
Ryan_C, Oct 2025
Bryan did a phenomenal job on the tour. One thing that we really liked is that he focused on the true history of Charlotte, rather than just legends or unverified statements.
I would definitely recommend to everyone who visits the Charlotte area. + I highly recommend the hard sweet tea at the first bar.
Anthony_Z, Sep 2025
We really enjoyed this tour with Captain Brian. There were five other people in our group, total seven with us. Captain Brian was very knowledgeable about the history of Charlestown and the he Prohibition Period. He took us to two really nice bars and the drinks were very good. The snack was so delicious. We had a very good time I highly recommend this tour.

Captain Brian was great! He’s super knowledgeable and covers uncomfortable subject matter with respect and honesty. You’ll get a wide variety of historical stories – from grim to fascinating to fun – about a handful of places around downtown Charleston. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
