The Plantation Mansion has approximately six steps to get inside and several steps from room to room. If the person is able to get into the Plantation Mansion and from room to room the tour guide can provide a chair for them to sit down on in each room. Please let them know that is what you would like upon being greeted by the tour guide. The brick slave cabins have two to three steps to get inside. However, once inside you will be able to see everything without having to walk too far. The Plantation Tractor Tour has approximately three to four steps to get into it. Our staff can help get the person onto the tractor ride if needed. Once on the tractor tour, riders remain seated for the duration of the thirty minute tour.

Fantastic experience. Be prepared to walk a lot. Make sure you go to all of the talks. You learn so much!

It is well guided with short tours of the main floor of the house, a tractor pulled ride through the property, and an owners tal regarding the people who have owned a lived there. There is also a talk about the enslaved people and the Gullah culture that we missed but were told was also very good.
The gardens are beautiful, the live oak aisle is amazing, all the guides are entertaining and friendly. There’s a very nice cafe nd gift shop on cute, plenty of restrooms, and you have to freedom to explore the grounds at you own pace.

Very interesting trip. A lot to see and do. I liked the tractor ride to learn about history and it is a working farm

Taking the free tour was very worth our time.
We ran out of time to hear the slave cabin lecture, but seeing their living conditions was very sobering.

The only downside was that I thought the tour started at eight and it actually started at nine. It was wonderfully informative. The Gullah Geeche presentation was incredible.

Mostly outside experience so plan accordingly. Still a working farm. Ask questions as staff are very knowledgeable.

The grounds are gorgeous and there is so much to learn. Don’t be afraid to walk the grounds and explore. We saw beautiful things, including alligators!
