What are people saying about Charleston

Unbelievably Great Experience
There is a reason this gentleman has over 1,300 ALL 5-star reviews - he is not only a walking history compendium, he is engaging, funny and passionate about what he does. This is going to be the best $40 you ever spent (he deserves much more - tip well!). I now have a whole new perspective of the Civil War, the Revolutionary War, not to mention the war of 1812. A cobbled street isn't just another road to him, nor is a house, a church or a flag. He has this thirst to get to the bottom of everything - he never assumes or accepts the local hyperbole - and he passes it all along to you. He has dates and even times of events at his fingertips. He managed to cram more history about not only Charleston, or the South but the whole perspective starting in Europe and extending to the Caribbean in three (not the usual 2) hours than history books could fill. Just ask about a duel, for example, and you'll hear about the 25 rules of the duel (Code Duello). Who knew? Thank you Prof. Lager for a fun and facinating experience that I'll always remember.

Highly Recommend!!
Bill, our tour guide, is very well versed in the local history of Charleston as he holds multiple degrees in history and religious studies. He did not whitewash the history of this area, yet he made the tour very enjoyable with humorous anecdotes.
He led us through the different sites applying the moral, social and economic factors which influenced the history of Charleston. It was very interesting and often sobering how the the influences of the British colonization, the American revolution and civil war eras all helped shape the growth, decline and renewal of Chareleston.
I would highly recommend this tour, especially with Bill.

Historic Charlotte Walking Tour
Our guide Al was a wonderful and knowledgeable South Carolinian. He was informative, interesting and funny. He gave us great detail as well as littler known facts. It was a fun and thoroughly enjoyable tour.
I highly recommend this and ask for Al if you can.

Our small group tour was fantastic! Evans was extremely knowledgeable about everything in Charleston from the history to local flora and fauna. We learned so much and had a great time wandering the hidden alleyways. Definitely recommend booking with Evans!

First Sumter an enjoyable ferry ride to the Fort
Very pleasant ferry ride (recommend the to deck on a nice day) to the Fort. The guides are very helpful in explaining the dilemmas faced by the occupants of the Fort during the constant bombardment. The displays explain the effort towards excavating the rubble to create the park.

Our tour guide, Georgia,...
Our tour guide, Georgia, was amazing. So much fun history and food facts shared! She kept things moving but we never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Food sample portions were much more than we expected. We did the early afternoon tour and it took care of lunch AND dinner for us. Definitely a highlight of our time spent in Charleston.

Crystin our tour guide...
Crystin our tour guide was awesome! We ended being a little late but she accomodated us so that we did not miss anything on the tour. I loved the different stops and to learn about the food history. All food stops were delish. This a great way to learn of the local cuisine and history. Would highly recommend this tour.

Cooper was an amazing guide who gave us a thorough, informative and entertaining tour around the beautiful historic town of Charleston. He is clearly passionate about history and architecture and will also share anecdotes you won’t find in any guide. Would definitely recommend his tour.

Fabulous Tour with Brian!
We had a lovely Tour with Brian! We had almost a private tour as it was myself, my husband and one other guest. Brian was personable, funny and full of knowledge and factoids not only about Charleston specifically, but also American History. We learned so much about the beautiful city of Charleston…the people, the architecture and so much more! We highly recommend Brian and this experience. You will come out with a greater appreciation of this historic city!

Thank you Luke and Marley
My family and I (6 of us) thoroughly enjoyed the awesome tour given by Luke and horse ride, compliments of our horse Marley. We learned so many interesting facts about Charleston. My mom who has mobility issues was assisted on first in a seat right in front. It was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone looking for fun and a great way to tour and learn about Charleston.

Good Choice for Plantation Tour
The tour of the plantation in the tram was informative. The house tour was very interesting. Our driver, Allen, did a good job of warming us up on the way there. It was a very cold day, so it wasn’t good to walk around the grounds, which would have elevated the experience.
