My First Food Tour — and What a Way to Start!
I finally took the plunge and did my very first food tour, and I couldn’t have picked a better city than Charleston to do it. What an incredible introduction to this kind of experience — I’m already wondering why I waited so long!
Our guide, Crystin, made the whole thing. She was warm, funny, and clearly in love with Charleston’s food scene. She wove stories about the chefs, the neighborhoods, and the Lowcountry culinary traditions into every stop in a way that felt natural and genuine — never like a rehearsed script. By the second stop, our whole group felt completely at ease, laughing and chatting like we’d known each other for years. She has a real gift for that.
The food was just phenomenal. We hit spots I never would have discovered wandering around on my own — from tucked-away local gems to iconic Charleston flavors done exactly right. Every bite felt purposeful, and the variety was spot-on. I left with a much deeper appreciation for just how rich and layered the Charleston food culture really is.
As someone completely new to food tours, I wasn’t sure what to expect — but this absolutely exceeded anything I could have imagined. By the end, I had a full stomach, a camera roll packed with photos, and a list of places I’m going back to before I leave town.
If you’re in Charleston, do yourself a favor and book this tour. And if you’re lucky enough to get Crystin as your guide, you’re in for something really special.

Cooler than just a history tour
This tour was amazing! Bruce, a seventh generation Charlestonian, is a wealth of knowledge. He has so many great stories and access to beautiful, hidden gardens and properties. I would have never learned all about Charleston’s elites and past history without this tour.

Well organized and...
Well organized and informative experience. The ferry ride includes amazing views of Charleston Harbor and historical perspectives from a tour guide. At the fort, we were given a comprehensive overview of the fort and its history by National Park ranger.

May afternoon groundbreaking information.
Ok. brass tax. Bill is well educated on the history of this city and gave us an amazingly well lectured tour and dispelled some myths. It left me thinking about history. He answered all questions and as we moved around was thoughtful of not impeding other walkers. Highly recommended. Kudos!!

I got a D in history, and I LOVED this tour!
First, our guide - Fin Smith. Extremely knowledgeable about everything Charleston! Very personable and engaging. He made the tour fun as well as educational and intriguing! Two hours is barely enough time to touch on the important events that occurred during that critical time of our nations birth. Fin brings you back to that time, he shows you actual, real things that are the same today as they were back in that time. I found it incredibly interesting - and I am not a history buff. If you are at all interested in our nations history, you will love this tour!
We had about a 10 minute break in the middle of the tour to visit a restroom and have some water at a water fountain, which was an adequate amount of time. Highly recommend this tour. It's the right amount of time and a lot of history is covered.

Unique Way to Experience Charleston at Night!
The tour was a highlight of our time in Charleston! Mike was incredibly knowledgeable, and his delivery made the tour so memorable. The tour covered many parts of downtown, and he used "cliffhangers" to keep us engaged as we moved from stop to stop. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking for an interesting way to learn more about the city!

Best Charleston Tour guide
This is, by far, the best tour I've ever taken in Charleston! Cooper has vast knowledge of the history of Charleston and tells of things that our history does not teach. He makes the tour fun and humorous as well. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn TRUE Charleston history!

Charleston History Brought to Life by an Amazing Guide
Charleston absolutely came alive on this tour. Our guide, Al, was incredibly funny, deeply knowledgeable, and had a way of weaving together history, architecture, and local stories that kept the entire group engaged from start to finish. I learned so much about the craftsmanship, hidden details, and historical significance behind the city’s stunning buildings that I would have completely missed on my own. The pacing was perfect, and Al struck a great balance between entertaining storytelling and genuinely insightful commentary. You could tell he was passionate about Charleston and proud of its history. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city, especially if you appreciate architecture, history, and a guide with real personality.

Carolina Belle - Charleston Harbor Tour - 5/03/2026
We had a great time, it was a beautiful day for a 90 minute cruise of Charleston Harbor on the Carolina Belle. We thought this was the perfect amount of time for comfort and content. Guests should be aware that outdoor seating is on plastic patio chairs. The captain provided a great narration of the Ft. Sumter history, and we spotted some Dolphins cruising along beside us. All in all, everything as described. I do think it's a weather dependent sailing as it's largely outside.

Great combo of history and local food!
Our tour guide Dana was spectacular! She answered every question we had and gave a great overview of the area and history. Food selections were fabulous - although the intro said: "The four stops will equal a full meal for most people", the food stops equaled about 3 meals per person. The food stops were well organized - we sat right down, the food came quickly and it was all delicious!

Nice experience with Brian and Boeing!
We had Brian as our driver and Boeing was our fine horse! Brian was informative and told humorous stories along the way! Our reservation was at 10:30 and we were running a bit early but we checked in anyway. We were allowed on the earlier carriage which was great! Very accomodating staff!!

Amazing tour!
The tour was AMAZING! My wife and I enjoyed so much about the day. Our tour guide Scott was great, the nice ladies we went with were so much fun, and the beauty of the entire place is breathtaking. We walked through the garden, took a tram ride to see plants & wildlife, toured the home, as well as walking though the slave homes. We learned so much and would definitely recommend taking this tour!
