We spent a wonderful day...
We spent a wonderful day at Magnolia Plantation. Our driver Wendi was great, prompt and pleasant. The tour of the mansion (given by Allen) as well as the train ride was informative and nicely done. The slave tour, however , was very difficult to understand. He presented an enormous amount of information. His delivery was extremely fast and made understanding of his material difficult.
I would not hesitate to visit Magnilia!

Beautiful
Wonderful experience. Beautiful property. Hours there was well spent. Scott (our tour guide was a wealth of information). We did not have a chance to do the freedom walk or the river tour but we would love to return and do it. The day that we were there was saturated with mosquitoes. I recommend bringing some repellent or be prepared to pay about $10 to buy 3 oz at facility

Must See Historical Walking Tour
My husband and I did this historical walking tour and absolutely loved it. Our tour guide Al was very knowledgeable about the area and added humor at all the right times. Definitely suggest planning a morning tour especially in the summer months. 10 out of 10 for us!

A Must Do in Charleston
We did this tour on a horribly hot afternoon and still enjoyed it. We saw several presentations including: The Slave Experience, History of the Owners & The Gullah Presentation. The presenters were all extremely informative. We toured the slave quarters, first floor of the main house, and then took a guided trolley tour around the grounds. All of the presenters were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We learned so much about the culture and history. The roadway of huge oak trees as we entered and exited was simply stunning.

My family and I booked...
My family and I booked two tours with Old Carriage Tours—one during the day and the other was the ghost tour. Both of our tour guides, Don and Matthew were fantastic! Each had a unique style of sharing Charleston’s rich history, which made both tours enjoyable and informative.
Not to mention, Wayne and Ricky were excellent horses as well. I hope they both got a well-deserved treat for their hard work! Which I was surprised to know that horses enjoy some beer after a days work. If I ever return to Charleston, I will definitely book another tour with them.

Great guide. Excellent horse! Fun trip.
A great ride with fun ghost stories and a spectacular horse! Our guide Peter and our horse Ron were both great. Though I have to say, Ron is better looking. Sorry Peter. But Peter had the good stories, so, both were top notch. Looking forward to going back again for a different ride with the same pair.

First plantation visit
What a fascinating and sobering experience. About 30 minutes from downtown Charleston - absolutely worth the trip. Our guide (whose name is escaping me!) was wonderful - very easygoing and knowledgeable having only lived in Charleston for 3 years. The plantation is gorgeous - very well cared for - but not minimizing the dark side of the history that took place here. The slave cabins were fascinating; loved the house tour and the evolution of the building. Farm and garden tour was very informative. Then I just sat under a magnolia tree and took it all in. Absolutely worth the visit!

Do NOT Miss out on a tour with Mike!!!
We had an excellent tour of Middleton Place with Mike. His knowledge of the history, gardens, and significance of the property made the experience both educational and enjoyable. Mike was engaging, friendly, and passionate about sharing the stories behind this beautiful landmark. He answered all of our questions and made the tour interesting from start to finish. We left with a much greater appreciation for Charleston's history. Highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a memorable and informative tour experience! Mike's personal knowledge and love for the city comes through in the conversations and information he shares. He is one of a kind and a jewel of a tour guide!!

A must go on tour
If you are looking to see a great portion of charleston this is your tour. Leanne picked us up at the location she stated in a very comfortable and clean van. We visited many famous and historic sites, all while Leanne explaining all the interesting facts about each site.. Leanne was very informative and pleasant. A great tour to go on!

Amazing gardens and the slavery tour is a must
This was a nice relaxing trip out to the plantation. If you don't have your own car it is ideal but even if you do it is really nice that they plan all your timed entries so you don't have to worry about getting the timeslot you want or the correct amount of time. The gardens are lovely. The house tour was OK but the slavery tour is an absolute must. We heard a lot of people skip that part...don't! There is only one food place so your options are limited and around lunch time the line gets really long. The food is good but a little overpriced. It did appear that they allow you to bring in your own.

Drayton House historic reference.
Loved the historical highlights. Really enjoyed our tour guide. I have a background in Art History as an instructor. Her body of information on the tour was right on. I appreciate intelligent information delivered in a tour and she was well prepared and knowledgeable.

The tour was very lovely,...
The tour was very lovely, and our tour guide Nicholas was excellent. We booked the all-day tour including lunch. With lunch taking an hour and a half it left little time to explore sites on the plantation we would have liked to go back and see. We would highly recommend this tour to others.
