What are people saying about Charleston

Fantastic tour, equally great guide.
We had Coach Baucom as our guide. An excellent experience all around. Not only did he give you the history of the Charleston he pointed out the small details you would have overlooked (i.e. predated headstone).
Duggar also gave you alot of recent history information about the properties in town. We even met and conversed with one of the locals.
Overall, most highly recommended.

Historical fun with a spooky twist
This was one of my favorite experiences ever. I love that our tour guide Savannah was so knowledgeable and i was obsessed with the star of the show, our horse, Mac. I loved that we were allowed to pet him at the end and also how our tour guide opens with telling us about the constant care of the horses, reassuring us that we picked the right tour company. The tour itself was such a great way to learn about the history of Charleston with some spooky twists.

Great Carriage Tour
Our tour guide, Skylar, was animated, fun and extremely informative. We went all over the historic southern part of Charleston, and learned lots about the sights, the history and her nice horse Tommy. Skylar recommended visiting a 19th century mansion, so we went back the next day and loved that, too.

Educational and beautiful
We only had 90 mins to spend before heading to the airport. We saw the Gullah presentation, which was excellent! The woman who gave it was an exceptional storyteller and speaker. (Can't recall her name unfortunately.) looked into several of the slave houses-- the list of arriving slave ships was heart-stopping. The main house is not actually very old, so not as interesting to us. The grounds and 650 year old Live Oak are impressive! Wish we'd had time to see more.

Wonderful Plantation Tour
We toured Middleton plantation, which to our surprise was absolutely beautiful and very enlightening! Our tour guide, Mike Frederick was fantastic! He picked us up at our hotel and showed us all the sites of the city as well as the history of Charleston while driving to and from the plantation. We would definitely recommend that you request Mike as your guide- he is great!

Dennis was the BEST guide!
Dennis was by far one of the best tour guides we've ever had! He was so knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and he had a great sense of humor. We had a 2 hour tour jam packed with great sites, lots of little tid bits, and he answered everyone's questions. I would take his tour again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our drive with...
We enjoyed our drive with Darian very much. Such a lovely and knowledgeable young lady. Thanks to her we learned a lot before we arrived at the Magnolia Plantation. After the tours we really appreciated that she dropped us off at our hotel…..saving us a long walk or an Uber ride. We’ll certainly recommend Chicora Tours to our friends visiting Charleston.

Amazing tour!
The tour was AMAZING! My wife and I enjoyed so much about the day. Our tour guide Scott was great, the nice ladies we went with were so much fun, and the beauty of the entire place is breathtaking. We walked through the garden, took a tram ride to see plants & wildlife, toured the home, as well as walking though the slave homes. We learned so much and would definitely recommend taking this tour!

What a Gem
Autumn Hall was a great tour guide. Her research is fascinating and her ability to use person first language to tell the story of the plantation in a historically and geopolitically accurate fashion really distinguish her from other tour guides I have experienced. I was super happy to hear her say that she will remain on staff after her fellowship.

Girl’s trip 2025
Boone Hall Plantation and gardens for a thought provoking experience. Profound. One of America’s oldest working, living plantations producing strawberries, peaches, pecans and many others.
The Gullah presentation was informative and heart felt. Full of history and heart break.
The sweetgrass baskets are a specialty basket woven and multi use. They take weeks to months to make and a so multipurpose.
