Learned about the ecosystem and was very interesting Luke was a very good guide and showed us lots of things

Response from Host, May 2026

That sounds like a really engaging experience. When a guide like Luke can point out details in real time—things you might normally miss—it makes the whole ecosystem come alive in a different way. Kimberly_S, May 2026
It’s nature therefore it’s unpredictable. What a wonderful way to get up close and personal with nature. Winds changing direction gave us a workout!

Response from Host, May 2026

That captures the experience well—nature doesn’t really run on schedule, and that unpredictability is part of what makes being out there memorable. Changing winds definitely add a bit of a workout on the water, but they also make you feel even more connected to the marsh and surrounding environment. Those little challenges tend to stick with people just as much as the calmer moments. Charleston Outdoor Adventures aims to give guests that close-up look at the Lowcountry ecosystem, and it sounds like your trip delivered exactly that—active, real, and immersive.

Lively natural sightseeing and workout

Iyonna_M, Apr 2026
The experience was great. We stopped in Charleston for a cruise and were looking for something lively to do. This looked like a great experience for a fair price. We were running 10 minutes behind but the workers were extremely understanding and compassionate. They were kind enough to wait for us to get there before leaving. They teach you how to paddle, provide you with life jackets, and you set out on the waters. I would definitely recommend bringing your own bug spray since there were many gnats. We had a grand time with our guide and with the front desk staff after we waited for our ride share service. We even got to see a dog! Would definitely recommend them to a book with!

Response from Host, Apr 2026

It sounds like your stop in Charleston turned into a really memorable experience. Finding something active and fun to do on a cruise stop can be hit or miss, but it seems like this worked out perfectly for your group. The team waiting for you and showing that kind of flexibility and understanding says a lot about their customer service. Starting off feeling welcomed and taken care of makes a big difference, especially when you’re on a tight schedule. Learning how to paddle, getting out on the water, and just enjoying the surroundings is such a great way to experience the area. Your tip about bug spray is definitely helpful too—those gnats can sneak up on you. It’s also great to hear the positive experience continued even after the tour while you were waiting for your ride. Those little moments, like friendly staff and even spotting a dog, all add up to a really enjoyable outing. Charleston Outdoor Adventures aims to create experiences that are fun, approachable, and memorable, and it sounds like your visit checked all those boxes.

Novice turned pro

Markeith_W, Mar 2026
It’s all good until you get in the kayak and all the fears and questions set in, lol! You can’t be afraid to try. I was nervous about flipping over and my rowing showed it. Once I relaxed everything started feeling natural. Have a lanyard and waterproof case for your phone just in case. Luke was an awesome guide and his knowledge of the ecosystem was impressive.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

It sounds like your kayaking tour with Charleston Outdoor Adventures was both a fun and educational experience. It’s completely normal for nerves to set in at first—kayaking can feel intimidating if you haven’t done it in a while—but once you relaxed, you could fully enjoy the calm and beauty of the marsh. Having a lanyard and waterproof case is a smart tip for keeping your phone safe while on the water. Luke’s impressive knowledge of the ecosystem clearly added a lot to the trip, making it both informative and enjoyable as you paddled through the Lowcountry waterways.

We loved our experience!...

Megan_K, Mar 2026
We loved our experience! We saw lots of dolphins and even a dolphin eating! There were lots of different birds and even jumping fish. There were cool boats to paddle around which was part of the tour and the ecosystem. Our tour guide Luke was great! He was very informative and entertaining for my husband and I. I would definitely recommend this experience, especially in the afternoon time because of the chance of seeing animals feed and even a possible sunset!

Response from Host, Apr 2026

That sounds like an incredible time on the water. Seeing dolphins actively feeding is such a rare and exciting moment, and pairing that with birds overhead and fish jumping all around really shows how alive the marsh ecosystem can be. Luke clearly made the experience even better. A guide who is both informative and entertaining helps bring everything together, making sure you not only see what’s around you but understand it as well. Those details about animal behavior and the ecosystem add so much depth to the trip. Paddling around the boats and through the waterways gives a unique perspective too, especially when you’re moving right through the environment rather than just observing it. Going out in the afternoon is a great call—wildlife activity tends to pick up, and the chance of catching a sunset adds a perfect ending to the experience. Charleston Outdoor Adventures aims to create trips that are engaging, educational, and memorable, and it sounds like your outing with Luke checked all those boxes.

Eco Kayaking Toir

SARAH_H, Mar 2026
Nice and relaxing kayak tour in salt marshes. Lots of birding opportunities and learned a great deal about area ecology. Our guide Aiden was knowledgeable and what I really appreciated was that he was very respectful of keeping a safe distance from some dolphins that went into an inlet we were touring.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

A peaceful paddle through the salt marshes with plenty of birdlife and time to learn about the ecosystem sounds like a perfect outing. Those quiet stretches of water really give you a chance to slow down, take in the surroundings, and notice all the details that make the Lowcountry so special. Aiden sounds like he did a great job leading the tour. Sharing knowledge about the area while also emphasizing respect for wildlife makes a big difference. Keeping a safe and responsible distance from dolphins, especially when they move into narrower inlets, reflects the kind of care Charleston Outdoor Adventures values when it comes to protecting these animals and their habitat. Experiences like this—relaxing, educational, and mindful of the environment—are what make time on the water so rewarding. Charleston Outdoor Adventures is glad you were able to enjoy it in such a meaningful way, and we hope to have you back out there again soon.

A terrific kayak tour of the lowland marsh ecosystem. KD was an amazing guide with a wealth of knowledge to share about the natural world in which you are paddling.
