Guide was extremely knowledgeable!

We had a wonderful time on this tour.
Dustin was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the ship
and very engaging with our group. It was
really cool to tour the ship at night. We loved everything about it. The history, ghost stories and especially getting to go up on the flight deck.
Highly recommend this tour!

Our guide was outstanding & did his best to personalize the experience for individuals in our group. Though warned in advance, we underestimated the ladder climbing involved and sweltering August heat.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thanks for braving the weather with us!
Penny_B, Aug 2026
Lots of good history!! My tour guide, Jack Kelly, was extremely knowledgable about the history of the Yorktown and he was very animated in telling us about the ghost stories!
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Penny, we thank you for the 5-star review!

The tour was phenomenal. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and funny! Very interactive and some cool spooky experiences! I even got a picture and it looks like someone is there! 10/10!

It was great to experience a ship like this. It was more historical than scary. Although my kids did get spooked at one point. Either way the guide was very knowledgeable and we had a good time.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
We appreciate your feedback. Glad to hear y'all had a great time!

This was great after hours tour. We have plenty of time to drop our conference bags, grab a snack, and Uber to the Yorktown without rushing. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. The ghosts did not make an appearance, but we did see the proof. And it was a lot of fun to be the only ones onboard.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
We are glad to hear y'all had such a great experience!

That's it's not climate controlled and there are a lot of steps through the doorways to be mindful of. We had a great experience. Jack was our guide and he was great. Very informative and a great storyteller. Answered all the questions that anyone asked him. We really enjoyed all of this experience.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience, Greg!

Overall the experience was good. It was an awesome way to see some of the ship and learn about some of its really cool history. The “ghost” portion didn’t disappoint either. Our tour guide was cool, he told us plenty of stories and shares some awesome pictures and interaction stories that other guests had experienced. He warned the group as well that the ladies were usually the ones who had the interactions, as the ghosts were all male sailors. My wife got touched twice during the tour. Once by the bunk of the first casualty on board and the second time was by the burn unit area. Overall excellent experience and would do it again.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thanks for sharing your experience, Daniel! Sounds like a spooky evening!

Tate did a great job with his story telling of the ship and history of it. He really has an excitement for sharing what he knows and talks about it with enthusiasm. It was fun. He did a great job!!

Truly a great tour with a ton of history and the guide had an incredible personality fit for the occasion. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Naval Vessels, WWII history, and wants to know more about South Carolina’s influence in the war.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thanks for the recommendation, Scott!

While I wasn’t personally scared or anything, it was a very interesting tour and the sights were very nice and the guide was very nice.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Grayson!

This was a really great experience for my family. We have never been part of a night boat tour and it was as interesting as the ratings stated. Our guide was knowledgeable and handled the crowd well. I am really glad we did this tour.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for joining us, Kelly!
Benjamin_M, Jul 2026
The tour was excellent and I loved hearing about the historical facts as I am a huge history nerd. Its not a ghost tour though. The guide just mentions weird circumstantial facts and expects you to assume the ship is haunted. Its also very very hot on that ship especially in July. Will say I was very disappointed at how much we paid for tickets and parking was not included.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
We appreciate your kind words about your guide and thank you for your feedback!
Lindsey_W, Jul 2026
Best haunted tour I've done. The guide was amazing, the ship was incredible and fascinating. Would definitely do again.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Patti_C, Jul 2026
It is beyond hot in the summer. Take a fan!!! You will be climbing narrow stairs so be ready! Do the 7:00 pm tour! It’s the best!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for joining us, Patti!
Aaron_R, Jul 2026
Great experience! The ship is massive and touring it at night was pretty awesome! Our tour guide was really knowledgeable about the ship and hauntings within it.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for joining us, Aaron.
Kelly_B, Jul 2026
Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, but we signed up for a ghost tour and basically got a spiel of his own favorite facts about the Yorktown. We didn’t get any ghost or paranormal stories at all. It was also 100+ degrees on the ship which is fine until you have a guide who likes to tell you everything he knows. I’d rather tour the ship during the day and spend my own time exploring it.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Kelly,
We are sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand the challenge of the temperature of the ship in the summer. We will address the lack of ghost stories with your guide going forward. We have no problem offering a refund for the tour. Please feel free to reach out to me at andrew@bulldogtours.com to discuss further.
Jesse_W, Jul 2026
The experience was great, but with this tour you do not get a lot of the ship experience, if your looking for ghost story and seeing a good portion do this 100%. Next time I would do the during the day self guide tour! To get the most out of the ship! Andrew was a wonderful guide and knowledgeable! Would have liked more a history side is why I suggested the other options ❤️

p.s. his wife and mother n law are very lucky to be in his presence.

The ship was amazing. We wanted to see more of it instead of hearing about haunting. Which there was no evidence of by the way. More time up on the flight deck would be wonderful!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
We appreciate your feedback. Thanks for joining us!
Michael_C, Jul 2026
Had a really great tour. Bruce was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good story. Mannequins are kinda weird.

Great fun! Got to quickly tour the ship, seeing some of the exhibits, while learning about the grueling history surrounding the ship. Even gives the group an opportunity to see quarters in the dark! Must do event in Charleston!
