What a wonderful walking tour with an amazing female university history student guide today! She was very professional, kind, very knowledgeable, and kept us entertained. She was very clear and easy to hear even in some busy settings and for a group of 15. I learned so much about the history of Boston and the Revolution. A must for tourists!!

Such an informative tour. We learned so much. It was the perfect amount of time and saw so much of Boston along the tour. Capped at 16 people which was great. We picked an early morning tour which was also nice because there are so many tours that it can get quite crowded at the stops.

Our guide, Nick, was great - super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Great way to see a large part of the city and learn about history at the same time. Group size was nice - much preferred to a larger group.

Fantastic Tour!!

Julie_H, Aug 2026
Nick was amazing!! High school history teacher who grew up in Boston made the tour not only informative but he also added some real life examples of how the city’s history. Thoroughly enjoyable. Stops frequently to explain. Always looks for the shade or away from another tour so we can all hear him. 10 min restroom break at the middle point. Thanks Nick!!

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Julie, thank you very much for five stars and this enthusiastic review for Nick K! He is a local and a talented teacher, as well as an experienced guide with a wonderful storytelling style. Our guides bring a lot of information to our Freedom Trail tours, but also work to make the walk as comfortable as we can.

This was a fantastic tour hitting all of the historical highlights of Boston. It went through different neighborhoods to allow one to really get a flavor of the city.

That's one of the things we also love about the Freedom Trail, Grace-- the beautiful, important historic sites, some wonderful neighborhoods, and, as you say, the flavor of downtown Boston. We're delighted you enjoyed your tour, and thank you so much for five stars for your guide!

We had a wonderful time on this tour! Our tour guide, Sara, was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the tour and that enhanced our experience very much. We also enjoyed her general outlook on history and appreciated that she gave a very inclusive retelling of the historical events. It was very warm on the day we went, and Sara made sure to find shaded spots for the group. This was very appreciated. We also enjoyed this tour as it was much smaller than other tours we saw going on around us. We could not have asked for a better experience with Sara, and I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Boston!

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Gosh, thank you so much for taking the time to share the details of your experience, and for five stars for Sara! She's a wonderful historian, with information and skillful insights to share. As an experienced guide, she knows where the shade is! Our small groups let guides make the walk as comfortable as possible, and let guides and guests engage. We love knowing you got everything you were looking for, and we appreciate the recommendation!

Dimas is an awesome tour guide and provides a lot of the story behind the story. Great historical tour with lots of facts.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Kent, we agree: the "story behind the story" can be the most fascinating part of Freedom Trail history. Dimas loves to share it in detail, as a guide, teacher, and museum educator. Thank you very much for five stars, and we're glad you enjoyed the tour!

Revolutionary Boston

Janice_L, Aug 2026
Excellent and informative experience. Dimas was an outstanding guide. Be prepared to walk between sites with a good bit of standing involved. We went in the summer so it was warm but most of the standing was in the shade.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you so much for these kind words and five stars, Janice! Dimas is a talented teacher, guide, and museum educator who loves to share Freedom Trail history. For our 2.5-hour tours along about 2 miles, guides know where the shade, seats, and shelter can be found!

It is all outdoors and...

Sara_S, Aug 2026
It is all outdoors and can get hot. Bring water bring a hat, sunglasses and other items in case it is hot. Otherwise if the weather is decent you’ll be fine.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Sara, thank you very much for five stars for your guide, and for this good advice to readers! Our Freedom Trail tour is a 2.5-hour walking tour outdoors, and our guides know where shade and seats are available in the city. Water and the right sun protection are great ideas, along with comfortable shoes. And our tours run through the 12 months and 4 seasons of the year!

A New Perspective!

Tam_S, Aug 2026
We often think we know history because of stories we've heard or pictures we've seen. It was great hearing a different version of these stories from our guide. He really brought history to life!

Response from Host, Aug 2026

These are true compliments, so thank you very much! We're always glad to know our guests felt interested in new stories or details along the Freedom Trail, while enjoying our guides' great storytelling. We appreciate the five stars!

Pace too fast for elders....

Manuel_E, Aug 2026
Pace too fast for elders. Guide not cognizant of this. Also other tour groups gained preference over sites (eg: Sam Adams/Bosyon Massacre victim gravesites: Hancock site).

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Good morning, Manuel, this is Ted Clark, owner of the small business where you've posted this review. We aim to be a 5-star experience for every guest, so I'm disappointed to hear your feedback. I have spoken directly with your guide, who assured me that the group remained together throughout, and that they made accommodations to keep a reasonable pace on a hot summer's day. For others who may be reading, this walking tour travels 2.0 miles across relatively level terrain over 2.5 hours, with seating breaks and an intermission period. To address your secondary concern: the Granary Burying Ground is the most popular landmark on the Freedom Trail, and a relatively small space. We try to ensure we visit every famous marker, but other operators bring groups of 75+ people into the yard. As such, it's a balancing act between seeing famous markers up close and avoiding massive crowds!

Alex was an amazing...

Patti_O, Aug 2026
Alex was an amazing guide. She is a wonderful storyteller and made a hot, humid walk around the city really enjoyable. She always found some shade to at least keep us out of the sun. Her depth of knowledge was evident and relevant. I would highly recommend this tour - and especially Alex - for anyone interested in learning more about the stops on the Freedom Trail.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Patti, thanks so much for five stars for Alex, and for sharing your experience on the Freedom Trail! Alex is an energetic, informative storyteller and an experienced guide. That means she knows the shade along the way as well as she knows the sites! We are very happy you enjoyed the tour.

Great tour of Boston

Jen_F, Aug 2026
Very educational. Our tour guide Gianna loved the history of Boston and you could tell as she guided us through the city. We were debating going on a self guided tour but it was the perfect choice to go on the tour. I know we got extra information that we would not have gotten had we gone on our own.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Jen, you're right-- Gianna is a wonderful historian who does love the history she shares on the Freedom Trail. We're so happy you felt you made a great choice with a Hub Town tour. Thank you very much for five stars and this review!
