Itinerary
Join a guided walk along Boston’s Freedom Trail, starting from a central location that’s well-served by public transport. The walking tour beats bus tours for up-close views of significant historical sites, such as the Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, and Granary Burying Ground.
During the tour, your guide, dressed in period costume, offers entertaining commentary on Boston’s role in American history, and events that shaped the city, such as the Boston Massacre—stories you’d miss if walking around alone.
The tour follows a route past America's first public school, the Old South Meeting House, the Old State House, and a view of the Samuel Adams statue.
Concluding at Faneuil Hall Square, you can finish the tour in a place that’s surrounded by great eateries and landmarks, leaving you in a great position for further explorations.

Guide was excellent. A real Trooper. She gave the tour in a period costume on probably the hottest day of the summer. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and funny. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

So interesting and engaging. Lots of fun facts and jokes along with the history. Katherine was a fantastic tour guide. My teen wasn’t interested in her phone the entire time other than to take a few pictures.

The guide was friendly and informative. The group was too big for us all to hear, all the time, even with her speaker because of all the city noise and other tours around us.

Very informative and engaging tour guide!! I appreciated the tour guides willingness to explain history in a fun and exciting way
Joseph_V, Aug 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. There were more people then I thought. She answered my questions and gave great pointers for after the tour

Experience was amazing and our tour guide Jeremiah Poope was amazing! He was insightful, funny and passionate about his role.

If Ben leading the charge, the British would’ve surrendered before dawn!
Ben was an outstanding tour guide engaging, entertaining, and completely committed to his character from the moment the tour began. His storytelling brought Revolutionary Boston to life, making history feel less like a lesson and more like stepping back into the 1700s. Every tale was told with passion, humor, and just the right amount of drama to keep our entire family captivated.
This tour was worth every penny, and my family and I enjoyed every single minute. If you’re looking for a guide who can rally a crowd better than the Sons of Liberty, Ben is your patriot. Five stars without hesitation!

Ben was such a fantastic tour guide! He made every moment of the tour interesting and fun. Highly recommend this tour!
Jennifer_H, Aug 2026
It was very educational. We enjoyed it. The meeting place was not exactly clear. We had to figure out where the meeting place was. Then that person wasn’t sure. We finally found it. Our tour guide was great!
Ruth_S, Aug 2026
It was very informative. We enjoyed our guide, Miss Palmer. She was great and had made it fun. I would recommend it.
Nicole_G, Aug 2026
Suzanne was a wonderful guide, she was friendly and super knowledgeable!!! I learned a lot. Just be sure you know you are only passing by the sites (not going inside any of them). I knew this going in, so I was fine, but if you are looking for a tour that also goes inside some of the stops, this is not the tour.

Our guide "Mother Goose" was so engaging, funny, and I formed~ I learned so much about the origins of our Nation and the grit and tenacity of Bostonians
SCOTT_D, Aug 2026
Ended up missing our scheduled tour because our flight was 3 hours delayed. Was able to get the same tour at the visitor center in Boston Commons without Viator mark-up. Tour was excellent. Reason for the "3"rating is that we messaged Viator to see if anything could be done to reschedule or refund, and they did not respond.

We had Ben as our guide. He was informative, very enthusiastic, funny and personable. He was terrific and we would highly recommend his group.
Kenneth_L, Aug 2026
Ben who was our tour guide for the Freedom walk was exceptional. He was full of great and wonderful facts. Ben kept everyone intrigued. Ben was a great story teller. What he said will stay with me for many years to come.
Meredith_J, Aug 2026
Ben is an amazing tour guide. Our teenagers were as interested as we were to hear him turn American history into what felt like an experience we were living in the midst of today. Highly recommend!
Kathy_W, Aug 2026
This tour was very informative. We learned so much. Bucket list. I’ve wanted to see Granary burial grounds forever. After I left I understood history so much better. I’m still processing all the amazing experiences and lessons.
Annie_T, Jul 2026
Lots of walking but super informative and hilarious. Lots of things were said that you would never just know walking around the city by yourself. Thanks to Aaron for a fun time.
Sunna_F, Jul 2026
Ben was the best guide! He kept it interesting, entertaining, full of historical information and he kept it moving. My family of 4 loved it ( kids- age 11 & 18). I highly recommend doing this whilst in Boston.
Katy_L, Jul 2026
This is a good tour to take if it’s your first time in Boston to give you an overall view of the history and layout of the city
Tara_H, Jul 2026
Great info. Katherine was great! Very informative yet fun! My kids stayed engaged throughout which was awesome
Jennifer_M, Jul 2026
Took my teenage son on this tour as a way to bring his US History class to life while we were in Boston. He is usually pretty whiny about walking and organized tours, and has some attention trouble. He enjoyed this tour enough that he was shocked when it was over, the 90 min flew by!
JamieA_B, Jul 2026
We had Ben as a guide. He made the tour interesting, entertaining and comical. My husband and I attended with 2 adult children (ages 18 and 20) who wanted nothing to do with a history lesson, but Ben made telling the history of Boston into more of a story telling session. He kept the group engaged and entertained. I highly recommend this type of tour if you want to learn the history with more enthusiasm and energy rather than just a statement of facts.
Robert_G, Jul 2026
Catherine gave a wonderful tour and mixed in so many fun facts that I’ll be going home to share with my family!
Alyson_M, Jul 2026
Be careful about the meeting time and place. We were at 120 Tremont for our 11am start with no one there. We then went to 139 tremont and was directed to the wrong tour. We never made our tour and were not given a refund. Meeting spots should have been more clear.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
You could not find the 120 Tremont Street meeting spot or you were late, you showed up at the 10:30 tour meeting spot and were invited the soon to leave Tour, you refused and were told the only way to catch up to the tour you would have to find them so guess what you found the wrong tour
your confusion is on you and does not warrant a one start review we give you a half star :)

This particular guide had great personality and authenticity BUT presented an excessive amount of information.
Jeffrey_D, Jul 2026
Very good job by Ben the tour guide !!
Only issue was the size of the group… seemed to be 50-60 people or more at some points and it took time to navigate
Mary_E, Jul 2026
Great historic overview mixed with humor. You will get your steps in, wear walking shoes and bring a water. Our guide was amazing, even held my teenager attention.
Robert_B, Jul 2026
We had John Hancock as our guide and he was Great!! A lot of information I never knew. This is definitely a tour to take
Holly_G, Jul 2026
