Amazing Experience!

This 3 in 1 package is a steal! Being able to have access to the Coliseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill was very convenient especially since they’re all in the same vicinity. I will note, they really stick to arrival times so be sure to arrive early for your guide/pick up your tickets. We opted to do the audio guide and it was definitely worth it because the audio guide was so informative and easy to follow along. 10/10 highly recommend for your next trip to Rome.

Maria was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, has been a tour guide in Italy for over 25 years. Lots of information, very easy pace with plenty of breaks and water stops (very needed in summer sun). I wish she would have been able to go into the Colleseum but due to recent changes they said they can't do that anymore, but inside the colleseum there were other tour guides so I'm not sure why she couldn't go in. Other than that she herself was great and the start of the tour was easy to find.

Get Ready for a Hike!

If you go in the summer heat, be prepared. Even at 9 am, the temperature was brutal. You will be climbing up and down Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum steps are not easy. Our guide was great and tried to be sensitive to tour members who were clearly having some difficulties. Bring water, cooling towels and a fan. Our guide's comments revealed so much about each historical site and we enjoyed the visit in spite of the oppressive heat.

Know before you go

Palatine Hill is a must for Roman history buffs. Older kids also enjoy ancient Rome tours, typically when accompanied by a guide experienced in engaging kids.
Most of the hill ruins are open to the elements, so bring a hat and sunscreen in the summer, and dress warmly in winter.
The archaeological site is spread out over the hillside along rough paths and uneven surfaces, so wear comfortable shoes. The site is not recommended for wheelchairs or strollers.
