What are people saying about New Orleans

Loved it!
I came to New Orleans for my birthday weekend and wanted to be immersed in history. This tour did just that. From the moment you board the bus Kate H talks you through New Orleans history. It’s topped off by experiencing history through the perspective of the enslaved and a swamp tour

Great Experience
We really enjoyed this tour and thought the combination of the Whitney Plantation and the airboat experience made for a fantastic day. The Whitney Plantation was incredibly interesting, moving, and educational. We appreciated that the experience focused on the lives and stories of the enslaved people who lived and worked there, which gave us a much deeper understanding of the history. It was very well done and definitely worth visiting. The airboat tour was a completely different experience and so much fun! It was a great way to get out into the Louisiana wetlands, see the scenery and wildlife, and end the day on a more adventurous note. We loved having both experiences combined into one tour. Educational, memorable, and fun—definitely one of the highlights of our trip and something we would recommend!

Oak alley Plantation tour
The driver and the Plantation tour was great and educational but it did say city tour and I assumed we will actually go in the city but we were given information of landmarks we saw while passing the freeway, we were never near it except the plantation itself

A must historical tour when in NOLA
Impactful plantation monument on slavery from the perspective of the enslaved. And Edward was a fantastic guide a s driver as well! Who shared so many gems about New Orleans and the surrounding areas on the way to the Whitney and returning. Crystal was a great guide on site as well, with a few of us having upgraded my tour rather than self guided. I would do this tour again and highly recommend it..

Not seeing something you are looking for?

You could visit the places that defined the antebellum South on your own, but joining a New Orleans plantation tour will give you a more meaningful understanding of this dark chapter of American history. Listen to a knowledgeable guide discuss slavery and pre-Civil War life while seeing museums, memorials, and enslaved people’s quarters in contrast with their owners’ mansions. Longer experiences typically include round-trip transportation from New Orleans and stop at multiple plantations, while shorter tours may focus on a single location.
