Rustic experience. I think that because of the way traditions were somewhat maintained. It was easy to get a feeling of how things use to be done. I was also impressed by how all the cultures intermingled with all levels of respect. People were friendly and I'd do it again.

We ended up on a tour by ourselves but sadly we had to bail early due to the heat/humidity. The guide was knowledgeable and theatrical and gave us a quick run through of what we were going to miss so we could explore on our own. Just sorry we had to quit early. We would definitely book again.

I especially appreciated the way he emphasized the origins of the city’s unique culture and traditions, while also honoring the strength, perseverance, and resilience of the people who helped shape New Orleans into the place it is today. The tour provided a deeper understanding of the history behind the culture, traditions, music, and communities that make New Orleans so distinctive. Jay’s storytelling offered an important perspective that is often overlooked, allowing us to better appreciate not only where New Orleans came from, but also the people whose contributions, struggles, and resilience are woven into the fabric of the city. This is an excellent must-do experience for anyone who wants to move beyond the typical tourist attractions and gain a more authentic understanding of the real culture, history, and people of New Orleans. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the city with greater depth, context, and appreciation.
