The plantation was beautiful. Pur tour guide, Trish, was amazing. She was so knowledgeable about the plantation and New Orleans in general. She was hilarious! The information we learned on the tour was so interesting. I loved that we got dowsing rods and were able to walk around the property alone and ask the spirits questions

Night visit to Destrehan plantation.

Wonderful time last night. Have been to a number of plantations but never at night. The tour was amazing. Our guide, Trish, was very into the tour and a great storyteller.

Excellent tour full of history and paranormal lore.

Trish was absolutely wonderful! She has so much knowledge on not just this tour but on NOLA as a whole. She was so entertaining and engaging.

Unexpected

Angelina_V, Feb 2026
It was a rough start guide seemed to be tired and not very welcoming. After we loaded on the bus she started warming up and trying to connect to us all as a group. She was well informed and firm in her beliefs that we find very inviting. To those who believe in spirits it was definitely an experience that we were not expecting. The land and emotions that run through you is strong and weighs deeply on you. Overall we are glad we experienced it.

Worth it!

Trish was a wealth of knowledge about the plantation. We had a small group and she made it an excellent experience! Loved visiting at night, definitely spooky!

Historical and spooky

Jacqueline_L, Jan 2026
Historical and spooky. Convenient to the French quarter for pickup, right off the street car line. The tour guide Trish was funny and informative.

Saturday Night with Trish

Evana_T, Jan 2026
Trish is a dedicated, thoughtful guide, who gets to know her guests even though our time together is short. Also, Trish packed in a lot of solid content in a limited time. She kept it relatable for the group. Two advantages of an evening tour are the opportunities to explore the property in the dark and take great interior photos. FWIW, transport is included, but we met our group at the plantation since we had a rental car.

Amazing intimate creepy tour

David_N, Jan 2026
Trish’s tour was incredibly thoughtful and intimate. There were only 10 of us and this is an amazing way to be on a tour with very few people. We drove out about 18miles to the plantation. The stories and history of the plantation were obviously horrific but important to reflect on US history and its legacy built on the back of enslaved peoole. She struck a great balance telling these stories and is a great historian on the history of the house and the area. The plantation at night was indeed creepy and we got to explore on our own even with copper rods in the hopes of encounters with spirits and energies. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting for a true authentic off-the-beaten path NOLA experience. For film buffs, they filmed parts of Interview with the Vampire here (the poodle and aristocratic death scene) by an old large oak tree. And interiors with Claudia. Some of the set (chandeliers etc) still exist.

Best Guided Ghost Tour in NOLA

One of the best excursions there is. Trish is the guide you want for this one. 10/10 recommend this to anyone.

Disappointing tour and guide

Brian_S, Nov 2025
The tour felt rushed and guide felt uninspired. He rushed us through the plantation tour and there was limited focus on “Haunted” he left us with over a half hour of time at the end of the evening to wander the grounds of the plantation, didn’t thank us for coming and never said good bye before leaving us waiting for our transportation.

Awesome!!!

What a wonderful experience. Everything was top notch from the amazing gentleman that picked up the group. Our entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide, Allen who not only shared his own experience but also showed us photos from previous tours. My husband caught a few photos with ghosts. Totally recommend!!!

Sarah_V, Oct 2025
The entire group was waiting at the pickup location with no signage or tour guide waiting. A white charter bus with no signage pulls up and we all pile in… still with nobody coming out and greeting us. A few jokes on the way there and we are left alone again. The tour guide for the plantation did a great job with the home but on the grounds we were sent out on our own after a brief conversation about the living quarters. We all met back up and waiting for her to say goodbye. We were not able to get back on the bus for another 10 minutes. The time for the tour could be 1/3 of the scheduled time. I think they know they’re not a great tour because neither the driver or tour guide asked or mentioned being tipped. I’ve been on many other tours in New Orleans and the service here was the worst.

Fun Experience

Carrie_S, Aug 2025
Fun evening experience. Our tour guide was very informative. They will pickup at your hotel. Our driver was super fun and let us know what to expect when we arrived.

Ask for Trish for your plantation ghost tour! You won’t regret it!

Tracie_S, Aug 2025
Our tour guide was very informative and the best we have had. She have such detailed information and gave plenty of time for pictures and questions. Her name is Trish. She is friendly and polite and showed interest in every guest, asking questions about their experience, explaining extra details about New Orleans, and sharing her own inquisitive nature and extensive knowledge of the plantation and New Orleans as a whole. We got to use these cool instruments to communicate with ghosts and explore the grounds outside. She went above and beyond for our groups. I would definitely recommend her again. Ask for Trish!!

10/10 Must check out

This was such a great experience. The history part of the tour was very interesting and the ghost hunting part was awesome. Got some answers from ghosts and crazy vibes during the whole time there. Our guide was amazing as well

Great experience!

Must Do

Gina_M, Jul 2025
Wonderful experience! The guide was very proactive and shared the history of the plantation. She showed us pictures of ghosts of the plantation that other people took with their phones. If you're a "sensitive" like me, you may have a reaction. I felt like I was rocking on a boat when I was hearing about the slaves. I also felt nauseous and dizzy. Regardless, everyone should have this experience and give honor to the slaves--make their lives matter.

I had an incredible time on the haunted tour of Destrehan Plantation. The atmosphere alone is enough to give you chills — towering oaks, candlelit paths, and centuries of history lingering in the air. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and knew how to balance eerie storytelling with real historical facts. The paranormal tales were spine-tingling, especially when we visited the old slave quarters and family crypts. Whether you’re a history buff, a ghost enthusiast, or just looking for something unforgettable to do near New Orleans, this tour is absolutely worth it. It’s the perfect blend of Southern charm and supernatural mystery.

A different historical tour being that it's at night. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. It was fun to use the sticks and energy meter!
