Bus driver was over 30 minutes late resulting in us getting on the wrong bus. When discovered, the wrong bus driver arranged return & attempted connecting us with our correct bus. We were unable to get that done so attempted to get a refund so we could rebook. The Crescent City tour contact, Brian, was difficult to try & work with and was a bit belligerent with us. He told us they hated bookings through third parties because their hands were tied when things go wrong. He told us at get with Viator & see what they would be willing to do. Viator was helpful, but the tour company refused to approve issuing a refund. So we were quite disappointed and if ever in New Orleans again we would refuse to take any tour offered by Crescent City tours.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review even though we did not get the desired outcome as a company. But it’s disheartening for me as a business owner when I have to respond to these reviews. So let me make sure I read you correctly. We have a pick up (window) between 8 AM and 8:30 AM and we always suggest everyone be ready for 8 AM. The driver has to make a series of stops at different locations. so when my driver arrives at your hotel, you are not there because you got on the wrong bus and somehow that is our fault.? it’s not the fault of the company who picked you up and didn’t check the manifest for names? It’s not your fault that you booked with Crescent city Tours and got on the bus that clearly had another name. None of those things are your fault or the fault of the company that pick you up. I’m not bragging, but we are the best in the business at this. We don’t pick up people we pick up names. If you’re not on our list you don’t get on our bus. So we NEVER make those mistakes. There are 294 tour companies in the city of New Orleans all drivers should be trained to check manifest and not just let people board a bus but I digress. . So neither you are the tour company that pick you up has any accountability in this? Do you not see anything wrong with this review? You go on to say that you asked for a refund? We did everything possible to try for a better outcome. We asked the tour company of the bus that you were on if they would bring you out to the plantation and you could ride back with us once connecting. I can promise you that same company had buses that were coming to the plantation. Now as a business owner, if one of my drivers had made that mistake I would have gotten in my personal car and brought you to the plantation myself. That’s who we are as a company and when that comes in the question, I take it personally. The primary reason why I started this company is because I was a tour guide for 14 years for another company and I saw people being mishandled. I saw things that I could not stomach. Thus Crescent City Tours was born. And even beyond that, there’s a reason why you picked us to tour with in the first place right? There were several other companies to choose from when you were booking your tour yet you chose us. There’s a reason for that. And now somehow you get on the wrong bus and now you try to trash our reputation for something that was clearly no fault of our own.. now no company is perfect but when we drop the ball which is rare, we do everything to try to create the desired outcome I don’t care what I have to do as a business owner to make sure all of my customers are treated fairly if I told you some of the things that I have done for customers just off of appreciation it will blow your mind. But again I’m not bragging, but we are the gold standard when it comes to this business in the city in New Orleans and that’s not just something I’m saying that’s what the number say if you look across any platform on some platforms, we have close to 1000 reviews and still maintaining a 4.9. I’m not sure if you understand the magnitude of that and how difficult that is to accomplish. But as my kid would say Dad that’s video game numbers. And as for as Viator, Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Expedia. We have been partnered with these companies for several years and have always maintain a good working relationship but policy is policy. We don’t own the plantation or the swamp tour. We are only the company that provides transportation to the tours so if their policy says no refund within 24 hours of the tour and we give you a refund who refunds us? I really don’t feel like I should have to explain all of this, but the empathic part of me. It’s always motivated by transparency, but I don’t know what else I could’ve done to create a better outcome. I even offered to rebook you for another day.. I don’t see how any of this is our fault as a company. I really wish it had turned out better for you.. but I can only control what I can control.

Lovely Plantation, Beautiful flowers, and Strong mint julep. What more could I ask? Weather was a little hot, but you can hang out under the oak trees or in the restaurant.

The tour company and Brian our driver were great. The tour inside the plantation was lack luster and. Rather boring. The plantation is beautiful. I wish I would have picked another plantation to visit. Loved crescent city tours. The swamp
Boat tour is a must! Don’t skip it! The extra money is worth it

The grounds are beautiful and the nearly 200 year old oak trees magnificent. Songbirds are perched in some of the trees and it seems idyllic. Yet, the slaves quarters are a stark contrast. When you see how slaves were forced to live compared to life for their masters in their splendid mansion, it might leave you with a loss for words. We can't erase history and can only endeavor to learn from it. It was a very worthwhile experience. Bryan was our bus driver and he was fun and informative. I highly recommend this tour.

The mansion was mediocre. No ones fault, it's just that I have been to more grandiose mansions. Tippecanoe Place, the Oliver Mansion and the Biltmore. My expectations were high. I thought it would be opulent and dripping in Southern charm like Tara.

Beautiful place to visit - try the freshly made praline in the shop.
CHECK YOUR VIATOR CONFIRMATION CAREFULLY- if you do not confirm with the provider via phone they will NOT BOTHER PICKING YOU UP. Be warned the Driver WILL go in a bad mood if you do not tip him

Thank you for choosing Crescent City Tours unfortunately I'm finding it difficult to respond to this review for a couple of reasons (1) You stated that if you do not confirm with the tour provider via telephone they will not bother to pick you up yet in the same breath you speak about a beautiful place to visit and the freshly made praline candies. So can you see the difficulty I'm having in responding to this review? And to say that you need to confirm with the tour operator is also false our reservation system coincides with Tripadvisor and Viator. So as soon as the customer books we see it on our end in real time. I would love to address this issue but unfortunately this review is incomplete? Also when you mention our drivers mood we are a 5 star rated company across any platform that we are associated with and you don't get that high of a ranking by osmosis you have to have targeted intention when it comes to Customer Service to get those results. So I hope that you see the difficulty I'm having with addressing this issue. I wish you could have had a better experience to net different results.

Our transporter, Brian, was very entertaining and fun. He had a lot of knowledge about the Plantations. In fact, he was way more entertaining than the tour guide at Oak Valley.

Cheerful driver cracking jokes and talking about tour information. It makes the ride to the plantation go fast. Oak Alley Plantation is magnificent and well maintained. Big House tour time is just right for visitors to understand the history of the original owners and their slavery business. Slave exhibits pertaining to the plantation are specific to their work and life.

Beautiful grounds rich in history. Excellent tour by foundation staff.
Since the tour left so early it would have been nice to have time to grab a bit to eat at the restaurant before the tour began. I felt a bit rushed.

I really enjoyed visiting Oak Alley, but the tour was very short. I was disappointed to find out that 4+ hour tour that I booked was mostly for travel to and from New Orleans. The tour through the house was at most 15 minutes and it felt somewhat rushed. I absolutely loved taking pictures by the big oak trees. They were absolutely beautiful. I would suggest driving out to the site so you can enjoy all of the glory that this property has to offer. I would also suggest visiting another one of the plantations (or more, if you have time). There is so much history at each of them.

Thank you for coming!!! Management has definitely considered your wishes. So we have implemented a private tour. You can customize your tour to your liking. I think it’s a great idea. We definitely appreciate feedback and how we can grow as a company.
Thank you so much for choosing Crescent city Tours for all your travel needs.
Until next time keep smiling

If every company had at least one Brian as an employee they would be lucky. He was a wealth of information plus, personal stories and a great sense of humor. Compared to the memorized information from the tour guide at the plantation, (maybe he was new?) I enjoyed the ride to and from the site more than the destination itself. Take this tour and ask for Brian!

Driver was late. He went to the wrong hotel even though I called and confirmed pickup location. Tour guide in the house (Nick) had very unclear speech and was not understandable
