The Brown Bears at Pack Creek range in size from small cubs of the year to large males coming in over 1000lbs. May to Mid-June is mating season and summer foraging. We see bears interact in a variety of ways and courtship behavior is common, we also often see bears digging for clams, or eating sedge grass. This is also a great time to watch sows playing with cubs, and the best time for encounters with large males. Mid-July to the end of September are the various Salmon Runs, this is when the bears go to work. The bears focus is on fishing. The primary viewing location is about ten meters from the creek. This is when we often see the most bears in view at a given moment, and the only time to get a picture of a bear with a fish in its mouth. Viewing distances at Pack Creek can be as close as 30ft away or as far as a 1,000yds out, depending on the individual bear and which food source they are using.

After landing on the Norris Glacier fed lake, hike over the glacially carved terrain to a cove where your packraft awaits. From here, you will be outfitted in single person packrafts and introduced paddling techniques by your guides. Once you launch your packraft, your paddle to the glacier will take you past ice bergs to the Norris Glacier. As you approach the glacier, prepare to beach your boat right on the Norris Glacier. Trade out paddles for micro-spikes and explore the moonscape-like area of the glacier all by foot and get panoramic views of Norris and Taku glaciers. Fantastic tour with the best guides

We wanted to experience the Mendenhall Glacier up close, and this tour did not disappoint! For late in the season, we had a perfect weather day, and the views were stunning. We were a small group so we paddled hard, but it was well worth it. Our guides were Sophie and Elymus. They were more than fantastic! From the pick up until the very end, they shared their extensive knowledge about the area, the glaciers, and the geological history. Elymus is incredibly passionate about the conservation work he does and was eager to teach us and share his knowledge. Sophie was equally eager to share her expertise with us and we really enjoyed the rock talk (yes, really!! It was a highlight)! Both guides pointed out wildlife and kept us talking and laughing throughout the entire trip. This tour is definitely a highlight from our Alaskan cruise.

Great time with Dave

Dave picked us up at the cruise terminal and proceeded to show us Juneau. We had previously indicated what we were most interested in-and he accommodated us. This is 100 times better than being crowded in a bus. We saw many eagles a bear and whales. Dave is well versed in all areas of Juneau. We highly recommend this tour.

Excellent Tour and Tour Guide

Our tour driver Aidan was super friendly and knowledgeable about Juneau. Along the way to the glacier, he explained some of the town and its history, and he even pointed out a bald eagle to us on the way back to the ship. He was an all around nice guy. The glacier and waterfalls were beautiful and well worth going to see. I really enjoyed this tour.

Juno adventure

We had a great tour starting with an informative bus trip to the marina. Our boat ride was great. we saw 6 whales and our naturalist was very knowledgeable about whales. The snack sack and hot chocolate was perfect during the trip. Despite the rainy weather, the trip to Nugget falls and the glacier was beautiful.

Great Mendenhall Glacier tour!

Very informative and entertaining tour guide (Troy Ford), who suggested the best walking trails for seeing the falls and glacier. The bus dropped us off conveniently at the start of the walking trails and allowed ample time for us to explore all the sights. The visitor center, with a short film and exhibits, is worth your time. The Mendenhall Glacier is a must see!

Great experience

We had a great experience on this tour. They took us to three spots to see whales. The tour gave us a better view than what we could see from the cruise ship as they were able to get closer while still giving the whales space. We appreciated the knowledge they shared as well. They seem to really love what they do. All the snacks were unnecessary but appreciated. And Charlie driving the bus was an added bonus. That guy is living his best life sharing info with tourists.

Pedz was fantastic! He was very responsive before our tour, answering our questions about our cruise ship’s arrival time and meeting location, which made everything easy and stress-free. He picked up our party of six and provided binoculars, water, and snacks. He was also especially thoughtful and accommodating to one gentleman in our group who had difficulty walking, which we greatly appreciated. Throughout the tour, Pedz shared information about Juneau, pointed out local sights, and had an amazing eye for wildlife. Thanks to him, we spotted eagles, a porcupine, whales, and even a weasel! He also knew the best photo spots and happily took group pictures for us. We visited downtown Juneau, Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls, Brotherhood Bridge, the Whale Project statue, and the beautiful National Shrine of St. Thérèse. Pedz was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the tour feel personal rather than rushed. It was a wonderful way to experience Juneau, and we would absolutely recommend him to anyone visiting—especially cruise passengers looking for a more personalized experience. Water Rafting For The First Time

We really enjoyed the excursion. This was our first time doing water rafting especially with Cristian. He was a really good tour guide and very funny. We saw bald eagles and even a seal in the water bobbing up and down. He even gave us some insights what it was like to staying in Juneau even though he only worked there in the summer. Hope to see him in Colorado when we visit.

Engaging experience that...

Engaging experience that kept us all entertained. Love this experience and our guide was so informative. Great for teens. Could be a bit muddy if raining or if it just rained. The newest puppies were the sweetest and so calm. The older puppies was super energetic and fun to see how quickly they grow and change.

M & M tours went beyond...

M & M tours went beyond what was required in every way! First my husband and I were on a cruise with only a half a day in Juneau. Somehow I screwed up the date and only realized it the day before we were to be in Juneau. I contacted Viator to see even though I put in the wrong date, could they accommodate me for the correct date. Viator wasn’t able to contact M & M but left a message. Viator said that it would strictly be the tour company’s decision to accommodate me or not. I paid for the tour months ahead. Thankfully the tour company contacted me first thing in the morning to say, “yes please join us-no additional cost”. We went on the tour and our guide was Alicia. Fantastic guide. She is a native and lives in the area so she knows her way around and her history. She drove our bus and narrated. She is kind, courteous and professional. She encourages your questions and can answer all of them. Plus she gives you fun snacks/trinkets at each stop along her tour. Best tour on our Alaska cruise! Excellent trip. Crew was extremely knowledgeable. Saw single whales and mother and calf. Tracy’s crab was good. Viators voucher is your ticket for red crab combo. Everything was very good. If you’re on a cruise, take this tour. Cheaper and much better then you can get on the cruise ship.
