Such a cool experience! Not going to lie, if you don’t get the front seat… it may not be AS fun! The dogs love running. The staff make sure each dog is happy and wants to run before each ride. If the dog isn’t feeling it, they don’t force them to run. Plenty of time to play with the puppies! Everyone on our bus (20 people) had time to hold multiple different puppies. Our musher was great. The staff who met us at the base of Mount Roberts was not pleasant. She played on her phone and was annoyed to answer questions, however we did not see her after the start.

The mushing part was cool, definitely a unique experience. The puppies were cute, like any puppies. I would vote not worth the money because our "tour guide" after mushing couldnt answer questions the group had about the races, and acted annoyed with guests. He spent the majority of the time we were supposed to be learning about the history of dog racing listening to him rant about the location being closed soon, and politics, and getting off topic to rant about who knows what else. For the money I expected an expert that is good with groups of people. This was NOT it.

Engaging experience that kept us all entertained. Love this experience and our guide was so informative. Great for teens. Could be a bit muddy if raining or if it just rained. The newest puppies were the sweetest and so calm. The older puppies was super energetic and fun to see how quickly they grow and change.

Really enjoyed learning about the camp. Ride was enjoyable and just long enough. Fun at the end holding puppies too.

It was nice to get away from the town, my granddaughter loved it, they treat the dogs very nice, but the weather was hot for the dogs, Good experience

Dogs are beautiful and the explanation and overview was excellent. Enjoyed the puppies and the sled ride.

This was a fantastic experience! We got to meet and pet the working dogs as well as the puppies. The location is gorgeous, and the guides were all super knowledgeable. We were kept in small groups, which made it even better. Plenty of time to learn about the dogs and plenty of time to cuddle. Warning: they don’t let you take any of the puppies home with you. :-)

You get to ride in a cart pulled by a full team of sled dogs. And then you get to meet the team and hold some puppies. Very cool experience with a knowledgeable and friendly staff.

It was fun to learn about dog sledding and how the work with the dogs. It was fun to hold the puppies. It would have been nice for a longer ride.

Fun, short experience. 20+ minute drive each way, 20 minute ride with the dogs followed by a walk on the suspension bridge, brief history of the Iditarod and then cuddles with puppies.
Fun experience but docked one star for the high cost ($200 per adult) and no refund policy if need to cancel.

Wonderful experience and fantastic staff. We enjoyed the whole tour from start to finish. They were also very conscientious of time without rushing at all. Excellent staff personalities!

This is a very kid friendly experience. The one thing my granddaughter wanted to do in Alaska was see sled dogs, and she loved it. From the drivers who take you to the camp to the people at the camp, this excursion was great.
Debbie_L, Aug 2026
Guides were wonderful- lots of interaction with the dogs, who were high energy and ready to run. Educational and fun!

We absolutely loved our trip to the Musher's camp! The dog sled ride was so much fun and we loved getting to hold the puppies. It was great to learn about the musher's and the dogs. Highlight of our trip!

This is an experience for all ages! The dogs are amazing and it was so interesting to learn from the musher’s and all that is required for racing. I really wanted to take a puppy home with me!
Kelly_B, Jul 2026
Great experience! The dogs were sweet. We learned about how the dogs did the runs and we got to hold a puppy before we left!

Now I want to ride a dogsled in the winter on show and ice. I can only imagine (with a little help from these good folks) how exciting that must be. The camp was very scenic, the dogs fun, and the staff well informed and personable. Riding in the sled was something new for me and totally fun. We got back home and suggested recreating this experience with them and they completely turn us down. I've love to see the dogs in their real setting, running across the snow, and being the athletes they truly are. Recommended.

So great! I had my 9 month old and my 8 year old and it was awesome for everyone. They gave some education, you got to hold puppies! The driver on the way up was an awesome tour guide. They served hot chocolate by the fire before we left. No water/power so use the bathroom before you go.

This was probably our favorite adventure on our visit to Alaska. Everything was smooth and easy to navigate. Everyone was kind and fun. We booked this specific tour because of our travel itinerary and we are so glad we did. We were extremely impressed with how the dogs were treated. We have heard some places just run their dogs ragged. This place is not that. You will learn all about how the animals get to retire on their own terms. It was the best! The only downside is that it does feel a bit rushed. I understand getting folks in and out. Just wish there was a little more time at the end to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Still a 5/5 experience! My kids haven't stopped talking about it. Priceless memories were made and tons of giggles on our ride :)

Awesome experience! We knew that our toddler and my mom wouldn’t be able to do the sledding on the glacier option. This was the perfect way to experience dog sledding and spend time with the dogs. Cuddling the puppies was definitely a highlight as well.
Debbie_P, Jul 2026
The guides are knowledgable, friendly, and you have access to supervised visits with the puppies and working sled dogs. Excellent experience!
Be prepared to do a little walking but know there are no bathrooms on site, just portable ones.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the musher camp! Even though it was pouring rain, dogsledding through the storm only added to the excitement, making the whole experience feel like a true Alaskan adventure. The dogs were incredible, packed with energy, and clearly loved what they do.
Meeting the puppies was an absolute highlight—they were adorable and so well-loved. We also learned a ton about the grueling history of the Iditarod race, which gave us a whole new appreciation for the sport and the mushers.
The camp itself is stunning, tucked into gorgeous scenery. Walking across the beautiful rope bridge was the perfect icing on the cake for photos. Rain or shine, this tour is a must-do!

Great for families with kids who love dogs! A little pricey, but overall, with it. Pictures with the puppies was a great way to end.
Graciela_R, Jun 2026
We love dogs so this was a must for our family. The sled ride was short but a fun one.
