Great experience! Loved experiencing the dogs run; the barking was loud but authentic. Educational presentation afterwards on the history of dog sledding in Alaska. There was time to pet the sled dog team and at the very end, we got to hold the fluffy sled dog puppies. Hot coffee & hot chocolate is given at the end which warmed us up!

Fantastic experience! Well organized and fun for all of us! We ranged from 12-84 years old and everyone loved the mushing, the suspension bridge, puppies-and hot cocoa at the end!

We love dogs so this was a must for our family. The sled ride was short but a fun one. We got to pet the dogs and the puppies.

Fun for all ages of dog lovers.

A great activity for my two granddaughters ages 9 and 10. They would have spent the entire day with the dogs (their only regret was we had to leave).

A must do activity

Eva_R, Jun 2026
We had a wonderful time meeting the dogs and their musher. My husband and son held puppies for the first time in their life. What fun, and lovely opportunity!

Good choice for quick sled dog tour

Rebecca_G, Jun 2026
Nice quick tour of a musher camp. Got to do a short ride pulled by the dogs, meet and pet them, and then hold some adorable puppies! Bus ride there takes up most of the time, but the quick tour left time to hang around Juneau and the bus driver dropped us off right in town.

Over the years, we have witnessed several sled dog demonstrations in Alaska. This is the first time we were actually pulled through the forest by a sled dog team. It was an exhilarating experience as well as educational

Really fun tour into the woods and learning about the Alaskan husky and seeing them in action. Summer training with wheeled sleds. And it was eye opening how much the dogs love running. Puppies were a wonderful bonus.

A wonderful activity

Super fun activity - very efficient and knowledgable summer help - the young people running this were delightful. Explained all the details about mushing - and the mushing for a mile and then greeting the dogs was great.

Makes me want to get another dog!

This was one of the most unique and enjoyable excursions we have ever taken. The dogs are amazing athletes, and the puppies were the highlight of the day. It was a great time.

This was probably our favorite excursion in Alaska. The bus driver was interesting on the way there & back and the camp was fascinating. The sledding experience was so cool! Getting to interact with the dogs & the puppies was great. I loved learning about the Iditarod race & seeing the gear.

Musher's Camp Fun

Kaweka_S, May 2026
A fun and informative excursion. You spend a little bit of time on the cart and a little bit learning about the Iditarod, but the highlight is the time with the puppies

Cool Intro to the Sled Dog World!

Susan_R, May 2026
This was a lot of fun getting pulled by a team of 16 sled dogs who wanted nothing more than to run!! Then we got to pet them and meet them, followed by a chance to hold some 3 week old puppies, future mush dogs. We also had a short presentation of the Iditarod and other musher events and history. It was a great excursion, very well run.

The best part of this tour is the dogs! Overall a good tour, just a little expensive for what you get.

Response from Host, May 2026

We’re so glad you loved the dogs. They truly are the heart of the experience! While we understand everyone values experiences differently, many guests feel the unique access to the dogs and camp makes it a memorable and worthwhile Alaskan adventure.

Great Experience!

Lisa_S, May 2026
That the dogs are overly excited to take you on your sled ride. Handlers are wonderful to the dogs and take good care of them.

Jennifer_K, May 2026
I had done the same excursion in 2011 with some friends, and it was just as magical the second time around. The dogs are absolutely incredible, and their trainers were/are top notch. So much care goes into the dogs and experience. It is a time commitment, so just keep that in mind when booking, especially if you have tight schedules.

Response from Host, May 2026

Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for coming back and for sharing this. We love hearing that your experience was just as magical as it was in 2011. It means a lot to us that we’ve been able to keep that same level of care and quality all the way through 2026.

We absolutely loved this Sled Dog Discovery tour in Juneau! It was an incredible experience getting to see these amazing dogs in action. The ride through the woods on the wheeled cart was thrilling, and you could really tell how much the dogs love to run. The view from the cart gave us a fantastic perspective of the team working together along the trail. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting the area. it is an unforgettable adventure!

Amazing

This was favorite activity throughout the whole cruise! The puppies were adorable and our guides were so knowledge.

Okay

Robert_J, Sep 2025
We did enjoy our time with the dogs, but would have liked a longer run with them. Loved the puppies. The walk on the bridge was not necessary. The information the bus driver gave on the way to the camp was interesting about the area.

Sherri_C, Sep 2025
We were so sad to miss our sled dog experience due to inclement weather in Juneau. The tour company was kind enough to offer us a refund since we weren’t able to get off of our ship until well after the tour had left.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Sherri, I'm so sorry to hear your tour in Juneau was canceled due to weather! We've been seeing some crazy winds and rain in Juneau that has delayed the ship docking....thank you for your understanding, and I'm glad to hear the refund process was smooth. I sincerely hope you can return to meet our pups another time! Safe travels home.

Alaskan sled dog adventure.

This was such a unique experience, very informative. The dog handler and dog team were great. She was full of interesting information about the Iditarod and knew her dog team very well. It was lots of fun. The information center and map area was very informative as well. We got to meet the camp dog, he was so sweet. We enjoyed holding the new puppies and the shuttle driver was knowledgeable about Alaska and the k Juneau are. We truly enjoyed the whole experience.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Hello! Thank you so much for sharing your experience, we always love hearing about our guests' experiences - the dogs love meeting you just as much as you love meeting them. Come back next year to meet the new litters of pups!
