What are people saying about Costa Rica

Rasta and Santiago were the real deal! These guys made this experience perfect from beginning to end. They were knowledgeable, kind, and very funny. Their attention to detail in the forest allowed us to see many species of animals, and insects. From the view of the volcano, to the hot springs and everything in between… this tour is 10/10! The lunch provided was delicious, and one of the best meals we had during our 7 day stay! Don’t hesitate to book, just DO IT. DISCLAIMER: This tour involves a full day of hiking up and down stairs. If you have hip or knee issues, be aware that this tour can be strenuous on those parts. The heat is also a factor to keep in mind. Bring trail/running shoes that you don’t mind getting wet! I wore water shoes, and although they helped with traction, they were very uncomfortable for the type of hiking on this tour. Lastly, we brought our own car and that allowed us an opportunity to stay later at the hot springs instead of leaving with the group. Be aware, the drive to the volcano is winding roads so make sure to rent a reliable SUV! All in all, this tour had all of the things we wanted to experience while in Costa Rica, and we HIGHLY recommend touring with “Red Lava TSC”.

Visit to Accademia Gallery
Booked through Viator. Cheaper through the gallery website but no tickets available for our date (Resellers like Viator obviously buy up lots of tickets and make a margin) Booking process straightforward but that only gives you a voucher. This voucher needs to be exchanged for actual tickets with a representative of the reseller at a location close to the entrance of the gallery. This process actually worked smoothly. The rep was at the location when we arrived 10 mins before our entry time. Tickets were provided which included the "skip the line option" The rep told us to see the security guards who on presentation of the tickets directed us to a different entrance to the main line up of visitors. It all sounded a bit risky when I made the booking but everything worked well so I would recommend this approach if you cannot get the cheaper tickets on the gallery website

This tour was absolutely...
This tour was absolutely spectacular from start to finish. Every moment felt intentional, engaging, and incredibly well-crafted. Our guide, Roche (yes, like Ferrero!), was simply outstanding, his knowledge, storytelling, and attention to detail were on another level. He didn’t just explain history; he brought it to life in a way that made you feel like you were truly part of the era. What really made the difference was doing the tour in Spanish. It allowed for a depth of understanding and nuance that would be impossible to fully grasp in another language. The richness of the explanations, the cultural context, and the subtle details made the entire experience even more powerful and memorable. Roche kept us engaged the entire time, it honestly felt like watching a great movie unfold in real life. This wasn’t just a tour; it was an immersive experience. 1000 points—highly, highly recommended!

Don't miss David
Our visit to see "David" was our first tour in Florence. Our guide was excellent! He was passionate about the history and artistry, sharing his love of David and other works at the Galleria dell'Accademia. Highly recommend! Only wish I had written down our guide's name for the 12:55!

With its soaring volcanos, tropical rainforests, and white-sand beaches, Costa Rica is a veritable paradise for outdoor adventure. And with the right guide, nothing is too extreme. Although many Costa Rica tours will give you an adrenaline rush, like ziplining or whitewater rafting, there’s also no better place to take a rest day. Set sail from the Caribbean or Pacific coast, sample farm-fresh cacao and coffee, or explore the museums and markets of San Jose.
