Wonderful time tasting coffee and chocolate ate different stages. I was impressed by the amount of information, the beauty of the farm, and the history and realities of coco and coffee farming. Kids enjoyed the chocolate making and trying 100% (so bitter) to the chocolate we are used to tasting. Our tour guide was David and he did a great presentation and demonstration for us. I didn’t get the names of the people who were helping but the ladies who made the melted chocolate, the “chocolate tea”, and roasted our coffee beans were so kind and caring. We did this tour after a few days of adrenaline pumping excursions that wiped us out. Kids and adults enjoyed crushing sugar cane and sampling the juice along with Cacike (Sugar can alcohol). This was a great end to our trip as it was relaxing and fun and of course tasty. In addition it was both worth the cost and even provided transportation from our hotel nearby. Highly recommend.

Very easy walk, umbrellas provided. Lots of great information on sustainable and generation farming. Lots of unique plants and wildlife to see as well. I was not expecting to see so many birds, and a sloth. Of course very tasty experience. Alberto was great.

Tour guide was very knowledgable. And showed us a lot of cool things. If your not into coffee and chocolate it might be boring
Makayla_L, Jun 2026
Really incredible tour! Beautiful farm, energetic, funny, and knowledgble tour guide, and a fun/interctive experience. We got to try freshly ground 100% chocolate, two types of freshly brewed coffee, see different grades of green coffee bean, process a stalk of sugar cane, see actual organic pineapples (they're so tiny!!), and (on a more sad, but still valuable note), learn more about the experience of working on a coffee farm and struggling under the current payment structure for farmers in Costa Rica.
Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic time on the coffee and chocolate tour! It was both educational and delicious, with plenty of opportunities to learn about the production process while sampling fresh coffee and chocolate. Esteban was an excellent guide! The shop on the property is pricey.

Very informative. What I thought I knew about coffee beans...I didn't. You learn about different roasts of beans and sample a few. Same for chocolate, you sample different types which was cool and even have a little chocolate treat.

This was a great tour to learn about and sample the coffee and cacao/chocolate growing and production in Costa Rica. The guide was very knowledgeable and the setting was well set up to explain the various phases of the growing and making of these. Sampling the different types of coffee and chocolate was fantastic.

We had a wonderful time at the North Fields Cafe: Craft Specialty Coffee and Chocolate Tour. Our guide, Danny, was funny and kept everyone entertained while he shared how they grow, harvest, and process both the chocolate and coffee. Danny provided everyone with lots of delicious samples as well. I would highly recommend this tour.

This was an insightful, hands on tour and we loved it. We learned a lot about chocolate and coffee, and have a greater appreciation for both. The two young men who led our tour were wonderful. The samples are delicious and the grounds are beautiful too. Highly recommend!

Danny did a great job and it’s a wonderful place to take a tour during the rainy season since there are lots of coverings. Lots of info.
