Unfortunately we got lunch and got out to the part where the you get all geared up and they realized the river had risen too high to be safe to do the tour. We were disappointed, but seeing video of the river I was so grateful they put our safety first. Everyone was super nice and tried to accommodate us coming back another day which wouldn’t work for our schedule. We were able to get a full refund. If this happens to you, be sure to get their WhatsApp contact as it took me messaging them a couple times to make sure the refund happened.

Book it. I have been a tour guide in multiple tourist destinations and done my share of travel tours. This was easily my favorite tour of my life. Jose, Kendall, Jonathan, Caesar and Ronan are pro’s, super safe and professional fun. (Don’t listen to the few whiners here. Although I will say, to do this you must be in, like, not bad shape. You need to be active.) but they’re good at what they do and make it accessible. The jungle experience is truly magic. Unbelievable. You won’t believe your eyes.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is the most thoroughly exhilarating experience I’ve ever done and I do rock climbing, and I’ve done zip lining before but never a combination moving through a beautiful canyon with waterfalls, zipping across the canyon and jumping through small waterfalls moving through the canyon down to where the stream meets the river. Our guides Jose, JC, Johnathan, and Cesar were amazing fast and kept everything funny, light and made sure we got through the challenging course without losing our nerve. The canyon is beautiful and it poured rain right before we left so the river was swollen and amazing adventurous. I can’t wait to do it again the next time we come. Photos don’t do it any justice. Highly recommend!!!!!

What an awesome day! We’ve rafted. We’ve been on ropes courses. We’ve zip lined. But to put them all together in an incredibly beautiful setting was the best! Guides were very meticulous about safety, while allowing for fun! We had a great day. My only caution is to take advantage of the pickup from the company. Don’t drive that road in your rental car!

Unfortunately, our experience with this canyoning tour was disappointing for several reasons.
First, the guides lacked patience. Canyoning can be intimidating, especially for first-time participants. If someone was nervous or needed a moment to compose themselves, the staff seemed more interested in rushing people through the course than providing reassurance. At times, their attitude came across as rude rather than supportive.
Second, a medical emergency occurred involving another participant in our group. Safety should always come first, and we understand that emergencies can happen. However, because of the incident, the final two zipline sections were canceled, meaning we did not receive the complete experience that was advertised.
Finally, communication after the tour has been extremely poor. We were told that photos from the activity would be available afterward, but despite reaching out through Viator multiple times, we have yet to receive any response. It appears that the operator may no longer be actively managing customer inquiries.
The activity itself had potential, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and the feeling that customer concerns were not taken seriously. I hope the company improves its customer service and post-tour support for future guests.

By far hands down best Viator tour experience in La Fortuna Costa Rica. The LaRoca Canyoning crew of Ronan, Jesus, Elder and so sorry forgot last guys name but he was also amazing. These four guys busted it to make sure all 20 of us on the experience were safe, enjoying and having a blast on each repel, zipline, dive into canyon pools, etc. It was exhilarating and they met the 8 year old to the 88 year old right where they were at. In the end they made sure those of us over 60 had water on hike back as well.
Highly recommend this tour, crew at La Roca as they are pros and we felt safe from start to finish:

What an amazing experience!! I went with my husband and two boys aged 12 & 14, we all had a great time and would definitely do it again! Like our guides said, you will get 200% wet! Ziplining, rappelling, and jumping into waterfalls, there is no way to stay dry! And so beautiful to be inside the rainforest.

myself, husband and twin 18 year olds did this tour. Estimated to be 3 hours. They picked us up at 730, and dropped us off at 1pm! this included all transportation, safety briefings, getting fit for gear, doing drops, ziplining, river walking, waterfall jumping, changing, having lunch and transportion back. They provide water, towels and a great adventure! I was very hesitant. They made me feel comfortable! Everyone in our group would do this tour again. Eldo & Kendall were fantastic guides. If you are moderately fit, like adventure and are deciding between 2 excursions, pick this one! The lunch was decent and there was a fantastic view of the mountain before we left.

The canyoning was incredibly fun and exciting! Everything felt safe and supported. The lunch, however, was pretty bland. We also paid extra for photos, which took a lot of effort to get from the company, and didn't have many of the photos that were advertised in the promotional material. But it was still a great tour and lots of fun.

Fun adventure! Repelling over and through water falls, zip lines, and some small cliff jumping. Prepare to get fully wet, and have a great time. They provide transportation from hotel, feed you a delicious lunch, and then a couple hours of adventure, I would totally come back with my teenagers, they would have loved it

Amazing trip. Very professional and safe. You will have a blast. I would do this again in a heart beat. Just be careful as there is a little walk back up after. May not be easy for young kids or older adults who are not in shape.

It was great. I loved the combination of zipline, rappelling, and bouldering that we got to do. The guides were very professional and we felt safe and cared for.
I had two pieces of feedback for the company.
1. There was one small rappelling drop where we needed to rappel down a boulder that had two very large metal bolts sticking straight out of the rock. As I watched everyone rappel down it each person had to try very carefully not to scrape their legs on the metal bolts/screws right there. It seems like an accident waiting to happen so I put this feedback here so that something can be done to improve the safety of that particular rappelling drop.
2, I think they could offer the activity without the large lunch right before. The food was delicious but we were served a large buffet and then immediately loaded into a tractor for a 20 minute bumpy ride to the canyoning location so it might have been better to eat a little less beforehand.

A+ Experience! When I asked my daughter (age 7) her favorite thing about the trip, she replied canyoning! The guides were fantastic--friendly, safe, and responsive. This was my third time canyoning and it lived up to the excitement. Be prepared for tight jumps, fast zip lining & long repels. Would recommend to anyone seeking a thrill!

This experience was not what I was expecting in terms of safety. While there were "experienced" guides with us, the conditions of the canyon (lower water due to lack of rain) caused an unsafe canyon jump and my husband hurt his ankle on a rock when he jumped into the canyon. I touched the bottom and felt rocks as well. This is extremely unsafe and should not be done when water levels are low! There was no back up option to avoid the jump.
