As a solo female traveler...

As a solo female traveler and regularly hiker, I can wholeheartedly recommend the hike with Experience GT. The organization was excellent, the accommodations were good (no tents, plenty of blankets), and the food was delicious—but our two guides, Vidalia and Jairo, were absolutely unbeatable. They looked after everyone in our —fortunately small— group (7 people) and turned this adventure and the incredible natural spectacle of Fuego into a truly unique experience! Thank you so much ❤️ If you have time to prepare: - do 60 squats a day for two months - start acclimatizing early once you arrive (or consider taking acetazolamide, starting the day before — provided there are no contraindications - bring a total of 4 liters of water (especially for the altitude) - try to pack light while still bringing enough changes of clothes: long underwear (merino, if you have it) - Rain poncho a/o rain jacket/ trousers - Know your limits — the climb to the summit is no walk in the park and can be very windy (and sometimes foggy) during the rainy season. But if you do it, enjoy every second!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing experience visiting Lake Atitlán! We actually overslept and were running behind that morning, but everyone was incredibly accommodating and helpful every step of the way, which we truly appreciated. Exploring the different towns around the lake was such a great experience. If you’re staying in Antigua, I think this tour is the perfect way to get a taste of Lake Atitlán, experience the culture, see the beautiful scenery, and visit several towns all in one day. Our guide, David, was absolutely AMAZING. I truly cannot say enough good things about him. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire day so enjoyable. Our driver, Marlo, was just as wonderful and took great care of us throughout the trip. From the way they accommodated us in the morning to the experience throughout the entire day, the service was excellent.

Very well coordinated experience. Pickup and drop off in Antigua was easy and well communicated. We went to a few different villages and did a bunch of activities. I also decided to stay overnight in San Juan and come to Antigua the following day and they were very accommodating and allowed me to return the following day with the other group at no extra charge.

This was such an excellent experience that I wasn’t expecting. Gio, our guide, made sure we were all comfortable with our ATVs—I wasn’t. But he didn’t make a big deal about it or seem frustrated and served as my driver. He made the experience memorable for us all and was a great paparazzo! I would have never been able to capture photos so well. Having a small group of kind participants made the day even more enjoyable. Gio did a wonderful job of giving us plenty of time at Hobbitenango, but not too much so we were bored. He stuck to schedule, which is appreciated when traveling and tour/events are booked in advanced. I also liked how all off the gunners were included In our entrance to Everything. I would recommend Gio’s ATV ride to anyone!

Great time with CA!

Toni and team were great! The trip was affordable, fun, and each detail was carefully planned. Read the packet before you go and you’ll know almost all of the information. Everyone was helpful and answered any additional questions! Plenty of hotels near their headquarters in Antigua, and about half a block away is a safe/and secure parking spot for 13 USD per day.

Daryl was an amazing guide!

We did this ATV coffee tour the day after we did the ATV sunset tour in Antigua by the same tour agency - Simoon Rentals and Tours. We could not have asked for a better guide who was so knowledgeable and gave us a full rundown on the coffee making process at the coffee farm Finca La Azotea which was in a beautiful setting in Jocotenango, a town just north of Antigua. Initially after visiting the historic coffee farm we were supposed to go to Cerro de La Cruz but we had already covered that during the sunset tour the previous day, so Daryl was kind enough to instead take us to a busy plaza in San Pedro Las Huertas where we could see a cool communal washing station where people would gather to wash clothes together and trade gossip and we also got to understand the process of mining, refining, and designing jade at a nearby family-run jade shop that is 3 generations strong. The pieces were so beautiful and learning about the jade-making process was so informative that we were happy to support them by buying a few pieces from them and their prices are more than fair and don’t overpriced! The shop is named king brothers jades Munro Maya. If you decide to take this your will not regret your time and money spent and I would highly recommend asking for Daryl to be your tour guide as he’s very kind, informative and speaks English very well :)

Our driver Rolando was great. Our flight was delayed multiple times and the company was very accommodating to let us know it was no problem and someone would pick us up whenever we arrived. Rolando got us through the rush hour traffic in Guatemala City and to Antigua all in one piece and made sure we got into our accommodation before he left us. Challenging but Unforgettable Acatenango Experience

I did the overnight Acatenango hike with Ox Expeditions and was really impressed with how well organised everything was. The welcome briefing the night before is absolutely essential—it gives you a clear idea of what to expect and how demanding the hike truly is. One thing I really appreciated was that they offer lots of warm clothing to hire for free, which meant I didn’t have to pack bulky layers in my own bag. I would strongly recommend hiring a porter for the ascent (for an additional charge). The hike is steep, long and genuinely difficult, and having someone carry your main bag makes a huge difference. Be prepared for very cold temperatures at base camp. Food is provided and perfectly fine for the conditions, but the campsite itself is very basic. It’s also worth knowing that you’re not guaranteed dramatic views or a clear sight of Fuego erupting—weather and cloud cover can change quickly. Even so, the experience is absolutely worth it. Reaching the top and spending the night on the volcano is something I’ll never forget.
