Begin your full-day Costa Rican adventure with pickup from your accommodation in Fortuna Town.
Then head to Arenal Volcano Park for a 2.5-hour hike traversing flat grounds and rocky terrain to witness the remnants of the 1968 eruption and learn about the volcano's history.
Then, after a short drive, arrive at La Fortuna Waterfall, where a 500-step hike awaits. Take a refreshing swim at the waterfall's base before heading to the Mistico Hanging Bridges for a 2.5-hour hike through the primary rain forest. Cross 16 hanging bridges and marvel at the Mistico's natural beauty.
Concluding the tour, you'll be dropped off at your original departure point.

This tour was absolutely incredible! Our guide, Juan Carlos, and driver, Argenis, made the experience unforgettable. Juan Carlos was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife—he pointed out sloths, monkeys, spiders, toucans, and so much more with such detail and enthusiasm. Walking through the hanging bridges was magical, and the waterfall was truly breathtaking. On top of it all, the food was a solid 10/10. Everything about this tour was well organized, safe, and full of adventure. Highly recommend to anyone visiting—you won’t regret it

This was a great tour ! We got to see so much wildlife during the hanging bridges tour . The bridges and volcano had some amazing views. Our guide Wilbur was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and volcano.

Brian was honestly the best tour guide we could have asked for. He was so genuine, kind, and incredibly passionate about Costa Rica and its nature. You could tell that he truly loved what he was doing and genuinely wanted us to have the best experience possible.
Brian was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour so much more than just sightseeing. He pointed out so many interesting things along the way, shared stories and information about the rainforest, volcano, and wildlife, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire hike. His energy and passion made everything so much more enjoyable.

Will was awesome throughout the whole excursion. Gave clear instructions prior to the day and detailed explanations of what to bring for each experience. Took the hassle out and made the whole day smooth and fun. Would highly recommend you book this trip if you would like to see all three places in a single day. There will be lots of walking but nothing to strenuous for the average person. About 4 miles in total. Lunch was great and enjoyed this thoroughly.

Cat was our guide and knew so much about the wildlife. She did a great job stopping to show us creatures we could never spot and shared amazing photos with us that she took with her camera/telescope thing. We got awesome photo ops, too. The Hanging Bridges were intense if you’re afraid of heights but worth facing your fear. Bring waterproof rain gear!! We had plenty of time at each place and the ride was comfortable. 10/10 for Cat!

The most amazing experience. Pablo our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable, he could spot animals from afar. We had incredible views of the volcano, spotted lots of animals and waterfalls very stunning. Lunch also great.

I tour guide Will was amazing! Very knowledgeable and personable. He knew my partner and my names very quickly along with the rest of our group.
The walk up to see the volcano was at our own groups pace however he took the time to speak to people individually and ensured everyone was ok.
We saw many animals at the Mistico Hanging Bridges and Will very kindly took photos and videos using his telescope which we both appreciated.
The waterfall water is extremely cold and very powerful and it was very crowded with people waiting by the sides. I would recommend taking very little down with you as it poured heavily with rain and there is absolutely nowhere to shelter.
There was a variety of lunch options and the food was very tasty. I would highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic tour! The three adventures—the Arenal hike, hanging bridges, and waterfall—made for a full day of walking, but it was absolutely worth it. We saw sloths, monkeys, and even an anteater! Our guide, Erica, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. Lunch at Soda Fortuna was delicious. Highly recommend this tour!

Beautiful experience at the Volcano park (it was too cloudy to see the top of the volcano the day we went, but I still had a great time just being there. The hanging bridges park (Mistico Park) was awesome, we saw many cool and rare animals there with the help of our guide we saw pizotes, a bat, various frogs, snakes (safely) and monkeys. At the waterfall park we saw a sloth up close. It was a great time. There are a lot of stairs through. Be physically fit and prepared if you go on this tour!

We were met very promptly at our hotel and the whole tour ran very smoothly. Our guide, Bryan, kept things moving at a good pace with humour and experience. The walk at the Volcano was fairly short and easy, though unremarkable as the Volcano was shrouded in cloud (not his fault of course!)
The section at Mistico was really good…Bryan guided us on the hanging bridges walk and found lots of wildlife that we would not have seen otherwise. In fact, we probably wouldn’t have spotted any of the wildlife without him. The hanging bridges were great - lots of them, really high, really long and good views.
The final section at the Waterfall was also quite quick. A ten minute walk down the steps, a quick look at the waterfall (spectacular) and then a 10 minute walk back the same way. Lots of less fit visitors were struggling on the way back up. We couldn’t swim as the recent rainfall meant the waterfall was very powerful- it would have been very dangerous to swim in those conditions.
The lunch at the tour company cafe was really tasty and they were very careful with choices and allergies.

10/10 experience! I do recommend being a little bit in shape because you will be going up and down a lot, especially in the first half of the trip, but everything is a reward on it!

Amazing experience!!! Our tour guide Wilber was extremely knowledgable on everything we saw and made this experience worth while. Got to see so much wildlife (monkeys, poisonous frogs, snakes, sloths, etc). Wilber even stopped the van when he spotted a sloth in a tree on our way to lunch so we got to step out of the van and take some pictures!
Also got to meet/enjoy this experience with some cool people along the way :) our group was small so it felt like more of a special experience. Wilber made sure we all felt comfortable and checked in on all of us individually throughout the entire day.
It may sound like a lot in one day, but by the end of the entire excursion my friend and I didn't want it to end! Book this if you're only in La Fortuna for a limited amount of days. You won't regret it!

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and interacted with every member of the group and was attentive to group members that had injuries and adjusted the pace of the group well. It was a fun trip , but your calves will hurt for days after doing the waterfall lol.

We had a wonderful tour with our tour guide Brian. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time which is completely out of their control. They had still fun time hiking the 1968 lava flow and despite the entire volcano being obstructed by clouds the entire time we still saw a lot of beautiful rainforest and lava rocks. We were blessed with 3/4 view of the volcano upon descending when the clouds started depart and the sun came out. Brian and his team were patient enough to allow us to get enough photographs. We then moved on to the hanging bridges mystical park where we saw so many different insects and animals and reptiles in a beautiful rainforest and enjoyed crossing six hanging bridges. Though it continued to rain sporadically, the amount of wildlife that we saw that Brian captured through his scope and on his iPhone was spectacular and he shared these photos with the group at the end. He had a wonderful lunch at soda Fortuna. And then moved onto the La Fortuna waterfall. We were hit with torrential Lorraine as we descended towards the base, but it made for a unique experience with a very forceful waterfall. We do not have time to swim, obviously, because of the amount of rainfall and came up to 500 stairs and was allowed time to rest at the top at the bar and coffee shop. But it was all worth it because at the end the clouds had dumped all their moisture on the ground and the odd Anil volcano was seen 100% without obstruction by the end of the trip which was a special blessing because it was covered for the remaining four days that we were there transportation was comfortable and convenient, and though I forgot the name of his driver, I appreciate being able to leave our valuables safely in the van when we are out on excursions I would definitely recommend this trip.

Our guide Will was super nice and informative and was really good at spotting different animals in the rainforest we would never see on our own. He was friendly, helpful and took photos for us, and was careful. On our tour we were told it was unusually very rainy, so he was careful about the activities.

Tour guide picked up on time and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Hanging bridges tour was great, got to see and hear monkeys and other critters. The volcano tour was nice, but I was expecting to see a crater or something, but it was the place of a very old eruption, I was less impressed with this leg of the tour, but guide gave us lots of history of the volcano which was interesting. The waterfall was amazing, but lots of steps! We are in moderate shape and we're huffing pretty good until we got back up. Heavy rain closed the swimming portion, but nothing anyone could do about that. Overall very happy with the experience.

We also appreciate your comment about the volcano portion of the tour. We completely understand that you may have expected to see a crater. In Costa Rica, for safety and conservation reasons, access to several active volcanic craters is restricted, so visitors are not permitted to hike all the way up to the crater. The volcano trail takes place in an area shaped by ancient eruptions and offers the opportunity to learn about Arenal's geological history, as well as enjoy different landscapes and views of the volcano when weather conditions allow. We are glad that, despite this different expectation, you were able to learn about the volcano's history and that this part of the tour was still interesting for you.
We also appreciate your understanding regarding the closure of the swimming area. Since we are located in a rainforest environment, conditions can change quickly, and when the waterfall's water flow becomes too strong, swimming is no longer safe.
And yes… the waterfall definitely comes with quite a few stairs! We are glad that, despite the effort, you enjoyed the visit.

Decent trip around the volcano with an easy hike, a walk through the forest with wildlife, and a dip in the waterfall area.

Catalina. Wow she was our tour guide for the day. She did an amazing job that she stood out the most from all the other itineraries that we did. She was nice, informative, and helpful. The tour could be challenging for some people but she always made sure everyone was doing good and capture Fortuna's nature creatures. If we were to go back we hope we run into her and do another tour.

It was a lot of fun, kids really loved the hanging bridges. The volcano hike was a fail cause of the downpour, we were drenched by the time we reached the viewpoint, entire trail was muddy as well. Waterfall was also super fun but unfortunately due to heavy rain and high currents we couldn’t swim in it. Overall I think if the weather was better, it would have been a 10/10.

Our guide Catalina was great. We started out with the lava hike. We hiked for quite a while and then ended up at a lovely café at a very high vantage point with beautiful gardens and a view of the volcano. Then we traveled to Mystico Hanging Bridges. The amount of wildlife she was able to point out was amazing. There is no way we would’ve seen any of those animals on our own. The gardens are beautiful. She set up a camera with an excellent lense, took photos and then shared them with us. Last, we went to the waterfall, so powerful and amazing to see! Bit wait, before we made it back to the first Hotel for drop off she alerted the driver to stop because she had seen a toucan in the trees calling. We were able to get out and view the toucan! Then we proceeded to drop people off and she saw a sloth in the tree and we once again stopped in the parking lot and we’re able to view the sloth for quite some time! Great day of adventure!

Will was a friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable guide. We got some great views and saw a good selection of wildlife. Lunch was delicious and a very large portion. The 500 steps down to the waterfall and walk back up was worth it.
