The rafting was so exciting and our guide Orlando was amazing! He was funny, informative and kept our raft moving perfectly down the river! My partner was so scared , being her first time, but she loved it! I would highly recommend this company! We even saw a sloth thanks to Orlando. Pura Vida!

The trip was really well organised. We went by bus to the river, about an hour long, stopping enroute for bathroom and souvenir shop. All of the guides were great fun. Really experienced river guides so we felt very safe. It was a fantastic activity! We returned to the base after rafting and had a delicious lunch and tour of the farm. We all thoroughly enjoyed our adventure with Descents!

We had an amazing time white water rafting! The scenery was beautiful, the rapids were exciting, and the whole experience was well organized from start to finish. Our guide, Kevin, was absolutely awesome. He was knowledgeable, funny, and made us feel safe and confident the entire trip. His instructions were clear, and he kept the group entertained while making sure everyone had a great time. Kevin truly made the experience unforgettable. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this rafting company.

Orlando was the best. At first we thought it would be scary but it wasn't as bad and there were many first time rafting people doing it. They finish off with fruit and then a lunch after. Make sure you bring shoes. Definitely worth the money

Our family had a blast on the river with Ronald as our guide. We saw lots of wildlife, including 3 sloths. The lunch provided was fantastic and we learned about the coffee production in Costa Rica as well as extracting sugar from sugar cane and feeding a variety of farm animals. This was much more than just a rafting trip. Very safe for all ages with a bit of an adrenaline rush as you would expect.

Super fun first time white water rafting. My kids are teens and it was their speed - a little adventurous but with a good guide. Never felt out of control. They loved the big jump into the water. They also liked the extras like the farm animals, coffee and sugar cane experience back at the HQ with Lunch. Nice bonus. Highly recommend.

Carlos Sanchez was great. He did everything! He explained how to be safe during our drive to the drop-in, he was our rafting captain, he made and servered delicious coffee, he taught us about their farm and even squeezed the sugarcane to give us a small cup of sugarcane juice.
He is superman!
And of course, the rafting was phenomenal for relative newbies, especially for the price.

This was a really fun activity, I highly recommend it! The ages of our group were 21-58, there were 5 of us and we all had a blast! Our guide was Ziggy and he was great! One of our members fell overboard and Ziggy had him back in the boat within a few seconds! The lunch was delicious, and everyone from the driver to the guides to the servers were friendly!!

What an amazing experience all the way around! Our tour guide was Ronald and he was spectacular! You do the white water rafting, eat a home cooked meal, enjoy a cup of delicious coffee (brewed the old fashion way) and get to tour the family owned farm. Everyone was so incredibly nice and educational. 5 stars all the way around! Pro tip: they let you split the photo package with others in your raft! Only $14 instead of $40!

Our experience was one of the best adventures we have been on. Our guide was super knowledgeable, able to explain the needed information and instructions for rafting to make it safe and fun. We were able to see sloth, monkeys, and an array of birds. Afterwards the meal was super tasty and a treat to meet the locals and learn about the culture. Orlando was able to make even my mother comfortable with her “scary” with being a first time rafter. His laughter and pizazz were unmatched. Five stars is not enough to give this team!!

White Water Rafting Class II & III in Costa Rica was easily one of the highlights of our trip — the perfect balance of excitement, scenery, and pure fun. The rapids are just the right level: thrilling enough to get your adrenaline going, but still smooth and enjoyable, even if you’re not an experienced rafter.
What makes this experience truly special is the setting. Floating through the lush rainforest, surrounded by incredible greenery and wildlife, feels almost surreal. There are moments of excitement through the rapids, followed by peaceful stretches where you can just take in the beauty around you — it’s the best of both worlds.
One of the nicest touches was a stop along the way where we were treated to fresh tropical fruit right by the river. It was such a simple but memorable moment — refreshing, delicious, and perfectly timed to recharge before continuing the adventure.
A huge part of the experience was our guides, Orlando and Esteban. They were absolutely fantastic — professional, knowledgeable, and full of energy. They made everyone feel safe and confident while also keeping the atmosphere fun and engaging. Their teamwork and sense of humor really elevated the whole trip.
After the rafting, we were taken to a very cute restaurant where lunch was included, and it exceeded expectations. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want after a morning on the river — a perfect ending to an already amazing adventure.
Overall, this is a must-do experience in Costa Rica. Whether you’re looking for a bit of adventure or just a unique way to experience the rainforest, this rafting trip delivers on every level.

This was a must do. We would do it again without hesitation. We had a group of seven people. That included five of our kids ages 15, 13, 10, eight and six. It was a blast and such a fun memory. Kevin was the absolute best and if possible, I would request him again. He was amazing and made the trip even better.

This white water rafting experience was an absolute highlight of our trip! Jean Carlos and Austin were incredible guides—not only did they keep us alive, they also kept us laughing and fully entertained from start to finish. Their energy and expertise made the whole adventure feel exciting yet totally manageable.
Halfway down the river, we were treated to a fresh fruit feast right on the riverbank, which was such a refreshing and thoughtful touch. And to top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch at the end of the day—such a perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable day.
If you’re looking for an exhilarating adventure filled with laughter, great company, and amazing local touches, this is an absolute must-do in Costa Rica! Pura Vida!

Super fun activity for first-time white water rafting. Guides were great, fruit and lunch was nice, and we got going before the other companies so it felt like we had the river to ourselves. Also loved the mini farm tour at the end and getting to try sugarcane! Such good value, 10/10 would recommend

This was the perfect 1st whitewater rafting experience for our 2 kids (ages 10 and 13). They had a great time and asked to do it again. Warner was our awesome tour and river guide and he made sure we had fun while being safe. Highly recommend!

We loved our whitewater rafting trip with Costa Rica Descents. They really go above and beyond to show you a good time including unscheduled stops by the road to see sloths, and free coffee tasting and farm tour after lunch! We were really lucky to have Warner as our bus a river guide as he was very experienced and wanted to make sure we had fun and stayed safe. We requested him for our second trip as well! Such a great experience and I definitely recommend! From start to finish the staff was welcoming and took their time to explain how the day would go. About a 45 min drive to the rapids with a quick stop for fruit. You’re on the rapids for about two hours total with a quick break halfway through for fresh fruit. The river guides are extremely knowledgeable and made sure we were safe the entire time. We had the time of our lives and ended the day with a fabulous lunch back at the meeting point. You can’t go wrong booking this company, they were great!

We had an amazing experience with this company. I went with my family, including my fragile mother. Our guide, Carlos, took great care of us during the journey. Even when the waters were unexpectedly rough, all of the team members came together to help out anyone in need. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would love to go again if we come back.

Holy cow! What a rush! Our guide Warner was so fun and we all felt he tried to give us the best experience ever. The waiting around at the beginning was a bummer and the 45 min bus ride was stifling hot but we did stop at a little shop for refreshments and the bathroom halfway there. They give you training and really want you to be safe. We saw sloths and lots of birds when we weren’t shooting down the rapids. When we got back we had an unbelievable lunch and some coffee. They also offered pics which I regret I didn’t get. Then we got a farm tour and my kids used the sugar cane press. It was such a great day and it lasted exactly the 6 hours they said it would take. I also regret not tipping. I also really appreciated there was no pressure to tip. A wonderful experience for sure!

Our guide Kevin was outstanding. Made it a great experience. He even had bus stop along route to view a sloth. Have rafted before and the 2/3 rapid were exciting. What a great value, fresh fruit after and the lunch after tour was very good/huge. Coffee, juice. Fyi there is no dry bag available so no personal pic
