The rafting was so exciting and our guide Orlando was amazing! He was funny, informative and kept our raft moving perfectly down the river! My partner was so scared , being her first time, but she loved it! I would highly recommend this company! We even saw a sloth thanks to Orlando. Pura Vida!

This white water rafting experience was an absolute highlight of our trip! Jean Carlos and Austin were incredible guides—not only did they keep us alive, they also kept us laughing and fully entertained from start to finish. Their energy and expertise made the whole adventure feel exciting yet totally manageable.
Halfway down the river, we were treated to a fresh fruit feast right on the riverbank, which was such a refreshing and thoughtful touch. And to top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch at the end of the day—such a perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable day.
If you’re looking for an exhilarating adventure filled with laughter, great company, and amazing local touches, this is an absolute must-do in Costa Rica! Pura Vida!

Super fun activity for first-time white water rafting. Guides were great, fruit and lunch was nice, and we got going before the other companies so it felt like we had the river to ourselves. Also loved the mini farm tour at the end and getting to try sugarcane! Such good value, 10/10 would recommend

This was the perfect 1st whitewater rafting experience for our 2 kids (ages 10 and 13). They had a great time and asked to do it again. Warner was our awesome tour and river guide and he made sure we had fun while being safe. Highly recommend!

Sanchez was an amazing guide! Very family friendly. Parents and kids enjoyed it! The lunch was amazing and the farm tour was a great way to end the day.

It was a great trip. Orlando made it so fun! He was entertaining. Sanchez also was really helpful on accommodating our larger group. It was a great day! So much fun. The lunch was yummy and a good portion. The stop for snacks of pineapple & watermelon was refreshing. Great!

We loved our whitewater rafting trip with Costa Rica Descents. They really go above and beyond to show you a good time including unscheduled stops by the road to see sloths, and free coffee tasting and farm tour after lunch! We were really lucky to have Warner as our bus a river guide as he was very experienced and wanted to make sure we had fun and stayed safe. We requested him for our second trip as well! Our driver, Giohanni, was also great and very safe:

Such a great experience and I definitely recommend! From start to finish the staff was welcoming and took their time to explain how the day would go. About a 45 min drive to the rapids with a quick stop for fruit. You’re on the rapids for about two hours total with a quick break halfway through for fresh fruit. The river guides are extremely knowledgeable and made sure we were safe the entire time. We had the time of our lives and ended the day with a fabulous lunch back at the meeting point. You can’t go wrong booking this company, they were great!

We had an amazing experience with this company. I went with my family, including my fragile mother. Our guide, Carlos, took great care of us during the journey. Even when the waters were unexpectedly rough, all of the team members came together to help out anyone in need. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would love to go again if we come back.

Holy cow! What a rush! Our guide Warner was so fun and we all felt he tried to give us the best experience ever. The waiting around at the beginning was a bummer and the 45 min bus ride was stifling hot but we did stop at a little shop for refreshments and the bathroom halfway there. They give you training and really want you to be safe. We saw sloths and lots of birds when we weren’t shooting down the rapids. When we got back we had an unbelievable lunch and some coffee. They also offered pics which I regret I didn’t get. Then we got a farm tour and my kids used the sugar cane press. It was such a great day and it lasted exactly the 6 hours they said it would take. I also regret not tipping. I also really appreciated there was no pressure to tip. A wonderful experience for sure!

Our guide Kevin was outstanding. Made it a great experience. He even had bus stop along route to view a sloth. Have rafted before and the 2/3 rapid were exciting. What a great value, fresh fruit after and the lunch after tour was very good/huge. Coffee, juice. Fyi there is no dry bag available so no personal pic

Totally worth doing. Was extremely enjoyable. Our raft was led by Garrison and he was absolutely amazing. He was personable, knowledge and friendly. What made this extra special was he woudl try to accommodate the raft experience to what you preferred. For example if you wanted a more challenging ride he would Trenton make that happen. In one area we asked for raft spins and we had a 1080 spin. Super enjoyable. Garrison. Amazing job and experience. Just not to forget the other awesome folks on the team including Kevin who not only lead the entire expedition but also gave an informative tour of the plantation behind their office/ restaurant. Totally worth it.

This is a total blast! I had the most amazing time with my partner. We parked our car at the meet-up location and hopped on a shuttle to the rafting spot with our guide and all the participants. It was about an hour with a small stop at a little grocery store. We were 6 people on one raft with our guide CARLOS SANCHEZ huge shoutout to him
for being so intelligent, brave and experienced. I fell in the water in the beginning as it was my first time, he rescued me within seconds and I didn’t get hurt at all. It was a terrific experience and a must do for everyone (there was a family with three kids in one of the other groups). Carlos gave us trivia and information about costa rica throughout our trip and it was priceless! Highly recommend, bring water shoes, put sunscreen before leaving and you’re good to go! They also rent out water shoes.

We were a little nervous as we never went rafting before but this was a really fun experience that got your adrenaline going a bit. Kat who was our guide in the boat was awesome and knew exactly where to tell us to paddle and how. Altogether, the tour was well organized, and we enjoyed every aspect of it. The lunch and traditionally made coffee were really tasty and having a chance to taste the cane juice and see how it is made was a bonus. Every single guide was kind and friendly and this was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend it, especially if you want to try something new in a safe way.

Excellent rafting experience with an amazing guide
This rafting trip was one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica.
Our guide, Pablo, was outstanding. From the very beginning, his instructions were clear and easy to follow. The safety briefing and preparation were well explained, and once we were on the river, his commands were always calm, precise, and reassuring.
What really made the experience special was his energy and attitude. He kept the atmosphere fun and relaxed, adjusted perfectly to the group, and made the whole journey feel engaging rather than rushed or stressful.
As a bonus, this was also the trip where we saw sloths the closest we’ve seen in Costa Rica, which was incredibly exciting and unexpected. Seeing wildlife so close while rafting made the experience even more memorable.
Highly recommend this tour, and especially Pablo as a guide. A perfect balance of adventure, safety, fun, and nature.

We had an amazing experience! ☀️ The morning started with a shuttle and a stop to spot a wild sloth - Orlando made sure we got great photos without disturbing it. Our rafting guides, Carlos and Esteban, were fantastic and made sure we were having a blast the entire time. The rapids were the perfect level for beginners and so much fun. We stopped for fresh pineapple and watermelon on the river, then wrapped up with a delicious homemade Costa Rican lunch back in La Fortuna and a small farm tour and sample of some freshly squeezed sugar cane water. Highly recommend this tour, even if you’re new to rafting! 👍🏻

My first time white water rafting and it was sooooo much FUN! Definitely making this something I do regularly! We were able to stop and jump off a couple cliffs. I felt very safe with my tour guide. He let me know he’s been white water rafting for over 10 years. I forgot his name :( but he said “welcome to my office!” I would love to go to work everyday if that was my office too! They had fruit waiting for us once we were done. When we arrived back at the meeting point they had lunch waiting for us. It was soooo good! After lunch we took a tour of their farm in the back. Saw lots of a cool things! I had a great time. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks guys!

My family loved this so much. This was our first time doing something like this, but our guides Christopher and Mike were amazing! Christopher gave great instruction to make sure we were safe and had a good time. We made it down the river and everyone stayed safe in the boat except when Christopher decided to do a front flip out of the raft into the river! I still smile thinking about this adventure.

Had the best time ever! Our guide in the tour bus and the farm afterwards was Orlando and our rafting guide was Warner. We learned a lot about CR on the bus to the river. We had such a great time rafting. They safety instructions were super thorough and my friend and I had an amazing time. The lunch was super yummy and the farm tour was a very fun and unique experience. 10/10 for every single segment.

Scary experience—only made bearable by our amazing tour guide Alejandra
While our tour guide Alejandra was incredible and truly the saving grace of this trip, the overall experience was terrifying due to the extremely poor condition of the equipment. The water rafts were torn and clearly not well-maintained. My husband and I each fell out of the raft on separate occasions—both times in areas with strong currents and dangerous rocks. It could have ended very badly if not for Alejandra’s quick action and professionalism.
Another member of our group also fell out due to the raft's poor condition. This was not just uncomfortable—it was a serious safety issue. The owner needs to invest in new, reliable rafts immediately.
Until that happens, I strongly recommend choosing a different company with higher safety standards and better-maintained gear. Your safety is not worth the risk.

This was my very first time whitewater rafting, and it was incredible! Kevin, our guide, was on point the entire trip: clear, firm, and highly skilled. One person did fall off the raft briefly, but Kevin handled it like a pro and made sure the rest of us stayed safe and alert with clear instructions. We also had time to swim in shallow waters, saw TWO sloths, a giant iguana, and colorful macaws! The group energy was great, and being a solo rider, I still felt fully included. The mid-trip fruit stop (loved skipping watermelon!) and bonding moments made it even better. Not to mention the amazing lunch after the excursion, as part of your experience, was top notch (Thank you/Gracias Milania). I would absolutely do it again. 10/10 recommend if you're in Costa Rica!
