What are people saying about La Fortuna

Knowledgeable friendly guides
This was so much fun. We saw four snakes, so many frogs and even a kinkajou high up in the canopy. Our guide (didn’t catch his name) was very knowledgeable and friendly, so good about everyone seeing each animal and taking photos. I would absolutely recommend it. The fear-de-lance and cat-eyed snakes were the highlight!

Highly Recommend!
This was a wonderful tour through the highlights of La Fortuna, 2 beautiful hikes, amazing wildlife, a waterfall and of course the volcano, ending at a hot spring. Our guides, Santiago, Christian and driver Cha Cha, were excellent!! They had lots of good information about the areas we visited, and did an incredible job of seeking out wildlife we would have never spotted on our own. Very patient and willing to take pictures and accommodated our group with children.

Lots of Fun!
If you like to be adventurous this tour is for you. We took the ATVs on dirt roads, regular roads, through water and we even added an optional upgrade to go to see the volcano rocks. Once you get to a certain spot on the volcano trail, you do have to walk up a steep hill, but it is not bad. Once you get to the top you can see a great view of the volcano and some of the lava rocks left behind from the eruption. I highly recommend this activity if you like off-roading. Just lift your feet up when going through the water and your shoes won't get wet.

We had a great time....
We had a great time. Didier was a great host providing the overview. We were all beginners but our boat guide Carlos Segura made us feel comfortable and let the kids stay involved. The tempo was good with rapids broken up by areas of calm water to rest and the adventure came with a great fruit and lunch break at the end. We would highly recommend it to other families.

Boasting easy access to an inactive volcano, gushing waterfalls, and white-water rapids, La Fortuna is a popular base camp for outdoor adventures. And with the right booked excursion, nothing is off-limits. La Fortuna tours can safely lead you to your next adrenaline rush, whether it’s climbing to the soaring peak of Arenal Volcano, ziplining through the rainforest, or rafting the Sarapiqui River. If extreme adventure isn’t your thing, don’t fret. More relaxed options like guided nature walks or coffee and cacao tastings let you experience a quieter side of pura vida.
