Itinerary

The first day of this 2-day tour starts with a trip to Alcatraz from Pier 33. Board a ferry for the 15-minute ride over to Alcatraz Island. You can choose between a 10a.m. or 10:30a.m. tour time.

Once you hop off the ferry and make it over to the prison, listen to a some facts about the history of the penitentiary. Then go on a self-guided tour where you can wear headphones to hear audio interviews with actual prisoners, such as Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly. The ferry runs every 30 minutes, so you can take it back to Pier 33 at a time that’s best for you.

Walk from Pier 33 over to Pier 39, and spend the rest of your day at the Aquarium of the Bay with your included admission ticket. Learn about marine life as you see fish, sharks, and rays.

Your second day of this 2-day tour starts with a pickup from one of five different locations. Four pickup options are in San Francisco and the last option is in Dublin. Sit and relax on the long 4-hour ride to Yosemite National Park.

Enjoy a guided tour of Yosemite Valley, and afterward, set out in the park for three house of free time. You can hike, bike, or explore. Take the ride back to the place you were picked up to be dropped off.

It was a wonderful trip in the second week of August. The guide did a wonderful job of taking to the national park and gave the history of the park. We saw the nature's beauty but we did not venture out too much because of time constraints. I will surely return back and spend more time in the park. The Alcatraz reminded of how life was when I saw Clint Eastwood's movie Escape from Alcatraz. The audio tour was very descriptive and thorough with the entire island's history. People should not be standing from 4 or 5 am in the morning to see this park.
