What To Expect

Your evening out in Rome starts at a location near the Pantheon, where you meet your culinary guide and take a brief walk to a family-run restaurant for your memorable dining experience in the Italian capital.

When you arrive, meet the owners of the restaurant, aficionados of traditional Italian wine and cuisine, and then head down to the restaurant’s private cellar. Take in the unique ambience of the cellar, where an old Roman structure was discovered at the floor level during renovation work in the area, and take part in the Italian pre-dinner custom of an aperitivo—a cocktail or glass of wine (in this case, you receive a glass of prosecco) enjoyed with a selection of regional cheese and cured meat.

Then head back up to the elegant dining room, sitting down at your reserved table for your 3-course dinner of Roman-style dishes. Each course is paired with a fine regional wine selected by the chef and guide to enhance the flavors of both the food and vino.

At the end of your meal, your experience ends outside the Pantheon, which is romantically illuminated in the moonlight.

This was a perfect evening. The wine and food were excellent. Starting our tasting in the wine cellar was a real treat. Our guide was so informative. Everything she told us was interesting. We learned so much. Highly recommend this experience. Wonderful restaurant.

We were supposed to be with a group but we were the only two that booked the tour. Or sommelier Alex did not cancel and gave us a a private experience we will never forget. He had so much knowledge and taught us so much about pairing the right wine with each course. The restaurant was wonderful and he took us on a tour of the ancient bath house in basement now a wine seller. The wine was wonderful and the food did not disappoint. I was so thankful that Alex did not cancel because we were the only people signed up, we had another tour do that and it was very disappointing after booking so far in advance. This was one of our hi lights in Rome!

Our guide Clelia was delightful, the food was delicious, with perfect portions. Each course paired nicely with wine. Clelia guided us through the regions of Italy as she explained the wine and food choices. The Restaurant Choice was also perfect. I’ll be eating there again.

There are too many to choose! The entire experience was amazing. Alex was so knowledgeable & was able to explain everything in a way you could actually follow & understand. This is our 2nd time booking this dinner. Not nearly as good of an experience as the first time. The first booking we enjoyed the wine cellar experience and were offered wine, meats and cheeses with a wonderful explanation of the family’s restaurant history, this time nothing. They should change the reservation name and lose the wine cellar experience. Also, the first time, our portions were bigger and we were offered extra wine. This time, small portions, tiny glasses of wine. We brought our whole family this time and talked up the experience from the first booking, this one was a total let down and would not recommend spending the money. We left hungry and thirsty.

The dinner and wine pairing was exceptional and Alexander (who has previously been a chef, sommelier and musician) was the perfect entertaining and personable person to guide our group and share his knowledge about the wine and food that we had at Casa Bleve. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant and the four different wines that paired with the appetizer, pasta dish, entre and dessert were a perfect and most delicious match. We thoroughly enjoy Alexander's company and the four folks that we met from Australia who also made the evening a fun one. My husband and I would do this again in a heartbeat and we can highly recommend this tour through Viator---it was a great end to our stay in Rome!

We had a wonderful time!!!! Alexandro was our host for the evening and so nice and knowledgeable. It made the evening even better!!!! I was concerned it would be cheesy and touristy. I was touristy a touch but in a good way! Food was on point and wine was wonderful. Small portions but with 4 courses it was plenty!!!!! I loved all of it. Fresh and homemade pasta…it was incredible. Owner even came to help serve us. Great way to meet other travelers as well. I would recommend to anyone. We had all ages from 30-60 at our table. So it’s welcoming to all. Please remember to bring cash to tip host.

Tour Guide should have guided

Our Tour Guide was friendly and spoke English very well and young. She gave us a some info on the Pantheon as we walked to the Restaurant for Dinner. Unfortunately the other couple cancelled and made the evening a little awkward. The tour guide was having one on one conversations with one couple/family, which made it weird because it was only us and the other family. The other family was asking inappropriate questions of the Tour Guide. I believe that if the Tour Guide had taken control of the dinner, that would not have happened. I felt very uncomfortable. As a result, we did not learn what wine we drank or given a description of the dinner. Albeit the dinner was delicious.
