Tour was very self sufficient, we were sent all info the morning of rather than meeting someone there to show us where to go.
I’d prefer doing it at my pace than in those huge groups but depends what you are looking for.
Personally probably cheaper to buy at the colosseum and doing it yourself anyway.

We were disappointed because the tour operator changed our tickets from a 10 am start time to an 11 am start time, without consulting us first. They said they made the choice because the arena looked busy. It was much busier, and hotter, at 11 am.

I understand your concern. We initially tried contacting you on the number you provided but were unable to reach you. As a result, we made the decision to shift your entry time from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM to help avoid the peak crowd, as the busiest time at the Arena is typically between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
Unfortunately, on that particular day, the crowd levels extended beyond our expectations. We usually make such adjustments to ensure a better overall experience for our clients, especially during the summer season when temperatures in Rome can reach up to 37°C — something we have no control over.
We truly appreciate your understanding and are always working to improve the experience for our guests.
Best regards,
Chris Merrin

Viator rescheduled our tour for 1745 from our original time of 1000. No one at Viator told us the colosseum closed at 1830. Leaving us with only 45 minutes to tour the whole of the colosseum including the arena. Colosseum was interesting but very disappointed with Viator.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’d like to clarify that the tickets are valid for 48 hours, so you had the opportunity to return the next day and fully enjoy the experience. I understand that the Colosseum had already closed at 18:30 on your initial visit, and I’m truly sorry for any confusion caused by our communication gap. We value your feedback and hope to welcome you back soon to continue your adventure.

Experience was great. Second time visiting. Ticketing and follow up was well executed. Chris was very punctual and helped coordinate everything.

The tour went fine. The skip the line was fine…although there was still a line for security, but it went quickly. We did not get our arena floor tickets (maybe we booked the tour too late) but the company called me that morning and gave me a refund. All in all , a pleasant experience with this company. The audio guide was good!

We were traveling as a group of friends meeting up in Italy from across the world and this turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
We had a fantastic guided tour of the Colosseum and Palatine Hill, thanks to Bayroutes. Everything was very well-organized and smooth from start to finish. We had booked the audio guided tour since we didn’t want to rush and cover the sites at our own pace and route. It gave us a lot of flexibility. It is absolutely the most reasonably priced service you can find with the organizer having a ton of experience with tour formats, regulations, seasonal offers, ticket availability, etc.
The audio guide provided was very informative, engaging, and brought the history of ancient Rome to life in a way that made the experience truly memorable.
The skip-the-line access saved us a lot of time and hassle and we could enter pretty much immediately.
Highly recommended if you want an informative, professional, and hassle-free way to explore these iconic sites at your own pace!

Lousy experience with this agency.
I don't recommend it, it's a fraud.
They took the payment and supposedly the admission was confirmed, Viator sent me a message where the agency staff would be located with the tickets and audio guide.
The messages sent were never presented or answered.
Which incurred extra expenses looking for another operator to achieve the tour.
Until now Viator seemed to me an application would be, I should not work with such mediocre and inhonest operators.
According to comments it is something that is frequently cancelled.
PLEASE DON'T TAKE ANYTHING WITH THEM, THEY'RE IRRESPONSIBLE...

As a company, we reserve the right to cancel a booking if the necessary details are not provided in time. For your reservation, we attempted to contact you several times for the required information, but unfortunately you were unreachable.
We made every effort to get in touch with you, but due to the lack of responsiveness, we were left with no option but to cancel the booking.
We regret the inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding.
