Didn’t get what we paid for

Booked a morning tour of the Colosseum. Had to contact the operator the day before the tour since I hadn’t received the tickets that were supposed to be delivered the day before. The operator then informed me that due to technical difficulties our tour time wasn’t available but a midday tour was available. We had wanted the morning Colosseum tour so we could take our time with the Forum and Palantine Hill. Instead we tried to do it in reverse and needed to leave early, missing areas we’d wanted to see. The audio tour also assumes doing the Colosseum first, so we missed out on listening to the tour while at the Forum. The audio tour was very generic though and it works have been better to listen to it all prior to doing the tour. The official audio guides are more informative, as are freely available podcasts. We’d wanted self guided because with kids and the heat we wanted flexibility, but all this saved us was dealing with the difficulty of trying to get tickets on the official website. The change in tour time and quality of the audio guide did not make this ticket purchase option worth it.

AVOID - all in all a complete waste of money. Poor instructions in advance (including vague meeting point details), expensive for what it is and ultimately the audio app did not work on our iPhones.

The audio guide was not helpful at all. First, the numbered locations were vaguely marked in the app, and could not be located in the Colosseum itself. The audio went in and out. I understand that part of the problem may have been wi-fi related. But even so, the app should have provided clearer indications of the relevent locations of each audio discussion.

Audio Tour Doesn’t Work

This wasn’t a “tour” in any sense of the word. This was just timed entry tickets and an app that didn’t work. Don’t do this tour unless it’s your only option. We had to book this because the other tour we’d booked was canceled at the last minute and there weren’t any good options. We’re glad we got to see these sites, but to call it a “tour” is a real stretch.

The meeting point to pick up our tickets was incorrect in the app. The audio feature is on your phone so we could not get enough wifi to hear anything. I would not recommend.
