Itinerary
Meet your guide near the Arch of Constantine in central Rome, and start your evening walking tour of some of its ancient highlights.
Head for nearby Palatine Hill, ancient Rome’s most desirable quarter, and today littered with the remnants of imperial palaces. Delve into the remains of the Palace of the Emperor Domitian, built in 81 AD, and listen as your guide shares snippets on how the emperors lived.
Gaze down at the crumbled Circus Maximus, ancient Rome’s chariot-racing stadium, and then visit the Roman Forum, once the city’s political heart. Explore the main ruins here, including the Arch of Titus, Curia, and Basilica of Maxentius; and see other highlights like the House of the Vestal Virgins, Temple of Romolo, Temple of Julius Caesar, and Forum of Augustus.
Next, enjoy a light buffet of pizza slices and snacks prepared by a typical pizzeria, and at about 8pm, continue to the 2,000-year-old Colosseum for a moonlight tour of its dungeons and arena.
View the arena floor and explore the underground chambers where gladiators prepared for fights as you learn about the bloody contests once held here.
Your evening tour then concludes outside the Colosseum at about 9pm.

First it was moved from yesterday to today (which ended being a very busy day due to the Jubilee)... it started earlier than advertised and there was no sunset to be seen. The fountain was so packed and the guide just said OK there it is "good luck". Additionally there was no pizza tasting!
