- Luggage and big backpack are not allowed inside the Colosseum
- In case of Dangerous Rain it can be impossible to walk inside Colosseum Undergrounds and you will be given 45 minutes on the ARENA FLOOR where you can see all the underground sections without walking inside it

- No any sharp weapons looks like knifes are allowed inside
- Pets and service dogs are not allowed
- Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Extremely disappointing! When we arrived to the meeting spot there was no one there with a tour sign as the directions stated. We had to ask and multiple workers gave us multiple answers. Once we figured out where to go the tour started 15 mins late. Tour was OK, hard to hear the guide even with the headsets. Tour was to last 2 hours but ended in 1 hour. Group size was larger than expected. When purchasing tickets it led you to believe you’d also see the forum with the guide but when the tour ended, it was closed. Sad because we won’t be back as we left the next morning. Not worth the $110 spent per person!

I thought the communication before the tour was excellent. I knew where to go.
The guide who takes you from the meeting point to the gate was excellent. She visually showed us everything we needed to know. I felt confident going into a crowded, crazy environment.
The tour itself was good, but I didn’t like our guide. She didn’t utilize the microphone correctly making it difficult to hear her.
The access was phenomenal but I would have preferred a different guide.

Tour operator led us to the entry point and gave us a numbered area to meet for groups. Then we were on our own to find it and it wasn't that obvious. Tour guide was very very good but should have used a flag to follow. In the tight spaces it got very congested and very easy to get separated from the group. 100% need a guide to make the most of the coliseum.

This experience was good. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but as English wasn’t her first language mixed with being in a busy public area it was hard at times to understand what the guide was saying. But the tour itself was great and we loved seeing the underground of the colosseum.

Our original thought was to book this to “skip the line” but it was so much more. We did the underground tour and it was worth every penny. Our guide was so knowledgeable and shared such valuable information that we would have never known had we just visited on our own. Group size was good, the headsets were very helpful, the company checked in the night before and was able to communicate via WeChat when we had questions about the meeting place. Their directions were accurate but there’s a lot going on around the coliseum and the area is very big so allow yourself time

A con. Small group was 25+/- !! Impossible to appreciate underground of colosseum with narrow passages & confined areas as group too large. Could not read info boards as too many of us. Guide not fluent enough. Questions not encouraged. Not 3 hours. Viator have made it very difficult to complain - no contact possible. Request for refund necessitated a reason from drop down menu but latter did not include a complaint as a reason!! Hugely disappointing and distressing as we cannot visit Rome again

10/10 stars!! Alyssia was lovely, knowledgeable, and had fantastic English. We debated doing the floor tour and were very glad we opted to do the underground tour instead!! It was a very comprehensive and enlightening!! We left with a totally different perspective from Hollywood’s’ version!!

Meeting spot was not easy to find. We arrived at the address early and could not find the group. Tour leader called and we were walking to find her and she kept hanging up on us. Finally found the group (by luck) and headed inside to the next meeting spot where we met our official tour guide. Such a disappointing tour. Guide barely spoke English and was incredibly hard to understand. Our entire group was clueless as to what she was saying for the entire tour. Very expensive and really disappointing.

Overall this was a good purchase. The guided underground portion especially provided a unique perspective. However It was difficult to understand the guide as his English was not so good. The actual colosseum tickets included access to other “super site” locations near colosseum but that was not clear from the listing/details provided. I checked with tour company in advance and got an e-copy of tix so we could visit those sites before our scheduled 4pm tour. Make you to check the details of your included tickets!

The tour itself was good, but I didn’t like our guide. His accent was so thick that I couldn’t understand half of what he said. I thought he was nervous and this was one of his first tours, but he had been doing it for 4 years. He seemed awkward and uncomfortable. His delivery was stilted.
The access was phenomenal and there weren’t any other people down there. The movie in the gladiator walkway was extremely well done. And the route covered a number of different points.
I think this tour has a lot of potential, but I would have preferred a different guide.

A wonderful way to find out more about this amazing place. Our meeting spot was easy to find. Our guide met us inside after checking in and he was very knowledgeable. The tour underground was worth it with most of the information given to us in relative cool out of the sun! We could then spend longer at the top after the tour. ‘Small group’ of 20 people with audio sets so easy to hear the guide.

This tour was great. Not only did we skip the line, but we got to go in places very few groups were able to go. We spent a lot of time in the underground, which on one of the hottest days of the year was very welcomed. Looking up, as opposed to down, was such a cool experience. Our tour guide was great, and told us ve a lot about the history and archaeology of the colosseum. She also took us our on a private area of the floor, overlooking the underground. Really, an amazing VIP experience. Thank you!

Very happy with our choice of the underground tour but I had a hard time understanding our guide & not sure I shared the same points of emphasis. This tour puts you more in touch with the plight of the gladiators and is certainly a must see monument while in Rome.

Getting access to the Underground was legendary. It’s definitely a VIP experience because you get away from the crowds in the normal areas but you get to hear about everything that happened underneath the stage. Also, when you come up to the main level, you’re in a VIP area briefly which gives you unrestricted pictures which alone made it worth it.
The only two odd things is you’re not allowed to take videos in the Underground and when you meet the agent in front of the subway station, it is literally just an agent and not the Tour Guide. They walk you to the entrance and the Tour Guide is actually inside. Not a big deal just something to keep in mind.

This tour exceeded our expectations! Our guide, Gabriel, was amazing! I had been warned that tours of the colosseum were not "worth it", so I was skeptical, but this tour felt very VIP... Gabriel had such a strong depth of knowledge- he dispelled many misconceptions of the life and experience of gladiators. He pointed out so many features of the building that we never would have noticed that it made the whole experience enriching. I also appreciated that we were never in the crowded areas of the colosseum, nor left standing in the hot sun. The underground tour element really made the experience fantastic! I know there is limited availability for access to this area, so I highly recommend booking early. I certainly wouldn't have enjoyed the basic arena tour as much (and we got that too!).
I do wish that the tour operator would have told us in advance that our ticket also provides us access to the Forum, but you need to leave 2 hours to explore that area (and the line is often long). We missed out on some of that experience because we weren't aware... a missed opportunity- so don't repeat our mistake!
Bottom line- a wonderful tour with a substantive guide who made the experience a lifelong memory.

The Colosseum was a fantastic tour. The guides were very professional. They split our group into two different groups in order to give us a personal tour of the entire colosseum. I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide was good although the meeting point and check in was chaotic. I thought our tour included the colosseum floor but we didn’t get to walk inside at the bottom.
