From Rome, your day trip starts with a high-speed train trip to Salerno, where you transfer to a ferry to the town of Amalfi, home to charming architecture and historical sights including Amalfi Cathedral, a 9th-century church in the main square. Enjoy plenty of free time to explore on your own before heading to the next town.
Your next stop is Positano, known as the "Jewel of the Amalfi Coast," a quintessential Italian Mediterranean village that sits against the mountainside, boasting a spectacular location on the rocky shoreline. Perhaps take a walk along narrow lanes lined with shops, relax on the pebble beach, go swimming, or enjoy a bite to eat or drink at a café. You have free time to wander around the village independently.
Return to the ferry for the ride back to Salerno and the final train ride to Rome, where your day trip ends.

Guilia could not have been a better guide. Took great care of us during such a long tour. We so enjoyed being able to see this area despite our limited time. Definitely will be back to stay longer. Transportation was easy & Guilia has great recommendations in each area.

Positano was absolutely one of my favorite places in the world. Could have stayed there for days. Both train and ferry were perfectly fine to get you from Rome for a day trip. Great shopping and very good food. Stop in Amalfi was also fabulous

My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much! You take a high speed train for about an hour and a half and then a ferry to your finial two destinations. We got to spend about 2 and a half hours on Positano and about an hour and a half in Amalfi. Both extremely gorgeous! We thought it was worth the bit of travel to see the amazing views. Our guide even pre booked a table for us at the most amazing restaurant in Positano that we had an option to go to or not. We went and the food and views were incredible. Our guide Joanna was very helpful and kind and always made sure we knew where we were going and what stop to get on and off- she also would tell us what spot on the ferry had the best views and fun facts of the location along our trip. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

The train ride from Rome wasn't that bad--1.5hrs. The weather was beautiful on Oct 15. We boarded a ferry (our tour leader made certain we sat on the top level!). I appreciated the beauty of the coast line, the history, the farming along the hillsides. Best part of my trip was the restaurant we ate at in Positano, Da Vincenzo. I warn you now. You will need to walk 300 steps up to get to this one from the port. I'm 62 yo and not an athlete. Totally worth my huffing and puffing! The stop in Amalfi...not so great. We did eat limoncello sorbet and that was excellent. Mostly a tourist trap with many, many, many souvenir shops.

What a great tour. Learned how to navigate the train station for future use. Our guide, Jacobo, was the best part of our tour. He was personable, knowledgeable, interesting and fun. Both stops on our tour were stunningly beautiful and not overly crowded.

Other guests on the tour were very nice to visit with. High-speed train was great. Ferry rides were very slow and excruciatingly hot. Didn’t get all that close to the coastline either. Frustrating to ALL, In various age groups, that Antonio, our tour guide, didn’t speak very loudly or talked with her back turned and most of the time we only heard instructions via passing it back-and-forth between ourselves. Maybe someone should give her a microphone since she is soft-spoken. I’m sure she had good information, but 90% of us couldn’t hear her if you weren’t standing directly in front of her. I would recommend fellow travelers to spend extra for the high-speed boat transfer instead of using the ferry option. Between the slow and hot ferry rides, that didn’t even offer an option to buy that didn’t even offer an option to buy a bottle of water, and a tour guide no one could hear, I would recommend another tour option.

Very disappointed with this tour. We knew it was going to be a long day but be warned that the amount of traveling and waiting for either a ferry or train to arrive will take up a huge chunk of your day. We brought our two children who are 21 and 22. When we got to Positano we were told we had 1.5 hours and only an hour and fifteen minutes in Amalfi. The tour guide was sweet and did a great job getting us to transportation. Due to the high cost and amount of your day traveling, versus enjoying the actual destination, I would not recommend this tour at all.

Our ferry was canceled due to winds so this ended up being a day with a lot of driving. The scenery is beautiful but Amalfi over crowded and not as enjoyable as Positano.

Our guide Grace was outstanding but it was very, very disappointing that we could not take the ferry around the Amalfi coast as planned. I realize the the tour company can’t control the weather conditions but this tour is extremely long and without the ferry/boat cruise it makes for long day riding a tour bus from one little town to another.

The waves were too high to take the ferry so we had to ride in vans. The views were amazing and our drivers were fantastic. Jacopo was an amazing guide with a fantastic personality that gave us just the right amount of guidance where we felt comfortable exploring on our own in both places. We’d highly recommend this tour!

The Amalfi Coast towns of Amalfi and Positano were both lovely hillside towns with narrow pretty walkways and beautiful scenery. The sorbetto was amazing and the beach at Positano was relaxing. Jajo was amazing - he is a funny, upbeat and knowledgeable young man. He kept us informed and made sure to connect with everyone. He also gave us a good amount of free time to make our own decisions on how we wished to spend our time.

We took a trip of a 'lifetime' as a family. We didn't want the hassle of changing hotels multiple times. This tour allowed us to stay in Rome, while taking an excellent day trip to Positano and Amalfi Coast. Our guide was excellent!! She made sure we were informed and clear about what to expect. She made certain we had her contact information in case we got separated or were late for meeting points. I really felt we were taken care of. The driver was excellent and got us there and back safely. I also appreciated that there were only 7 people on the tour. That made things much more pleasant. Totally worth the investment. Tips: make sure you have breakfast before you leave. If you want to have an inexpensive lunch, find your own place. We had lunch on the beach in Positano, so the prices were considerably higher. But worth it for the view!!

Jacopo was our tour guide and mainly the reason the whole experience went off without a hitch from the start. We met at the cafe by a train, and then got on a train to salerno.after that a gorgeous ferry ride overlooking the beautiful coastline of Amalfi filled with gorgeous houses carved into the hills, all surrounded by the gorgeous crystal blue water. We stopped in Amalfi for an hour and a half which was more than enough time to get lemon sorbet and some souvenirs and limoncello. Followed by another ride to positano where we had seafood by the coast and shopped around in the hills of the town. The whole trip was worth it, thank you Jacopo for being so attentive and thoughtful!
