One of our best evenings in Rome!

    Charlie H, Nov 2019
Travelling there with my 12-year old son who is very interested in cooking and soccer (FORZA LAZIO), Rome presented a nice and balmy 20+ celcius, compared to the Swedish climate in November. The first couple of days we spent touring the Vatican, Coloseo and various pizza/pasta restaurants we had seen on Youtube. Wednesday was crowned at Stadio Olimico, Lazio - Torino with Lazio winning comfortably 4-0. Thursday we were booked at That's Amore for our pizza-making class. The restaurant is situated in a dense tourist area and I usually shy away from these but the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. Fernando received the two of us and offered water while we waited for three more. They didn't show on time so we started 17:00 sharpish with washing hands and putting our aprons on. In a very gentle and calm manner Fernando guided us through the incredible simple process of making pizza. The three missing from the course showed up about 10 minutes later and quickly catched up. The tempo was perfect, Fernando spent most of the time helping my 12 year old and the other familys son to get their dough perfect - this is of course what you want as a parent, your child to get the most attention and help. Methodical and forceful, Fernando had us all compose pizza in about 1 hour, Roman style with very thin bottom and proportional with ingredients we could choose from - All first class! When done we sat down for a full meal. Starter was bruschetta and wine, main course was our own pizza (which tasted delicious) and by this time I was getting pretty full. They offered dessert and coffee, I had a lovely Tiramisu and my son took an excellent Panna Cotta. Sitting with a family we had never met was great since we all had a great laugh making the pizzas, Fernandes was a true maestro in making us all feel very comfortable. We talked about food and he really seemed to enjoy being in our company. The owner of the Restaurant, Fabio, wrote a book about his experiences, loaded with recipies. I decided to buy a copy (20€) since I was enjoying myself so much. Fernandes then proceeded to get Fabio, the writer and owner, who sat down with us to not only write a personal message in the book but also to have a moment. An excellent evening, we left very full and satisfied - feeling confident in our ability to simply make great tasting Pizza. I can wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone and especially families with children. A big hug to Fernandez! Charlie & Felix

Prestation Très Cher via le site Viator

    Richard_S, Jan 2023
