We booked with Sunset Suzy but because of the weather, we had to cancel. The owner was kind and courteous and help us get our refund. Sunset Suzy came highly recommended for beginners so when we return to Oahu, we will book with them again.

This was an amazing experience!!! We are a family of 5 with kids ranging in ages from 10- 18. We all had the best time and were able to catch tons of waves! We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to have a fun surfing experience.

Jon was a great instructor! We had a group of 6 and he was great with everyone! I was the weak link but he still made sure I got a few great rides, even if I had to stay from my knees! Suzie made sure we had a great experience with the weather and water conditions!

Small, low-key operation, great location for beginners (ours was effectively private). Enjoyed chatting with Suzy by text to coordinate beforehand. Instructor John was down-to-earth, patient and good with the kids. Overall recommend.

It was amazing! It was an unforgettable private lesson with my family and there was 5 of us total. Andy and John are an amazing team and taught us the basics on how to surf, we all managed to stay on the board by the end of it! I would recommend to everyone who wants to have a good time with their friends and family while learning how to surf! John also took incredible pictures!

Andy and Jon were fantastic! It was both my first time and my kids’ first time surfing (ages 7, 9, 11, and 13). They were professional, patient, and incredibly kid-friendly. The kids had an amazing time and even learned how to surf in the short time we had. If you’re looking for a great place to surf—whether it’s for the whole family or just yourself—this is absolutely the place to go!

The location chosen was perfect. Lots of smaller waves for beginners. We were able to get as many waves as we wanted.
Andy was great and really positive. The instructions and tips while we were out on the water really helped us get up on the boards!

We had a really great time with Kaiser. He made it fun and took all of the anxiety out of trying something for the first time and having zero idea of what to expect. Expect fun and to catch some waves. This was a private lesson with just my partner and I and we were surfing within 30 minutes of arriving. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

10/10 recommend! Mine was a private lesson with Andy at Suzy’s surf school. I’m a 46 year old guy, new to surfing. I was up on the board in 20 min was paddling into a wave and riding it the whole way after 45 min. I called it off at by 90 min, too tired. These guys will get you up on a board for sure, heliping push your board into a wave, and they will probably have you paddling in yourself before it’s over. I will 100% do this again! Don’t do Waikiki. This is a secluded beach with individualized instructions. You progress. You ride until you’re too tired to ride. I don’t write reviews often. This one earns it

Andy was an amazing instructor. He helped all my family members how to surf. We were all first timers but with his amazing teaching skills, we were able to experience surfing within 1.5hrs. It was such a fun experience!

Suzy was the best! She was very helpful, patient and enthusiastic. I would love to take another lesson with her! The whole group was beginners and they picked a spot that was fun and not too hard. Would 10/10 recommend.

Truly amazing experience. Three surfers with zero experience (ages 44, 10, and 9) all rode multiple waves and were up and surfing almost immediately. Suzy and Matthew were expert and gentle instructors who made our time with them perfect. Would not hesitate to book again and can honestly say this is by far the best money we spent on our recent trip to North Shore. Do not hesitate to book this!

Andy was an awesome instructor. It was pouring rain so we cruised through the beach lessons and got into the water. He was patient, provided great pointers and each of us were able to get up on our boards. This was an amazing experience. It took me 52 years but I was able to finally catch a wave. Thank you so much Suzy and Andy. If you want to learn to surf in Hawaii, this is the group to go with.

We didn’t have any experience of surf and we were nervous to find a good person to teach us. But Suzy was an amazing person to teach how to surf and catch the waves! We had really good time to learn and catch some waves! We totally enjoyed and recommend it for all! Surfing in North shore is great choice, you can see some turtles as well!

Surfing lessons with Suzy was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii!! There was no way I thought I would be able to get up on a surfboard and after two hours, I felt comfortable enough to go and rent my own board and go back out. From start to finish, Suzy was kind, professional, communicative, and very conscientious. I cannot recommend her enough. We came for surf lessons and left with a new friend from Hawaii! Thank you Suzy!!!

Very nice experience! Andy is very detail oriented.. teaching us all about the dos and don’ts right from the get go like a true pro. And once we were in the water, he was really encouraging even though we took a few tries to figure it out .. and patient too (I was doing a lot of the Donts” we had a really great time and would totally recommend everyone to try it!

What a fun experience! My family never tried surfing and honestly I didn’t think I could even do this. My husband and I (in our 40s) and my 8 and 10 year olds. All of us were surfing the first try! Andy made the experience memorable, enjoyable and so much fun. He was very patient, kind and a great instructor! Also the location was perfect for all of us!
