Learn to surf during your Hawaiian vacation with a private surf lesson in Honolulu. Bring your own group of up to six people total for a lesson on the beach and in the ocean with your professional instructor. Your lesson includes use of gear including surfboard and an in-depth lesson from your instructor.

Trevor was an excellent instructor who could accommodate from mom and dad to teenager! Living in Oahu for almost 2.5 years, we finally had a chance and courage to learn how to surf. It was a precious experience for us as a family and Trevor made it fun and exciting! All of us were able to stand and surf at least once or more even though tide was high. He helped us paddle out to the waves and back to the shore, "literally" carried us out and back. Thank you, Trevor, for our staycation memorable and wonderful!

Booked a lesson for two for Sunday morning and had a great time with Owen. Both my friend and I were beginners (surfed a couple times on the past but not for many years) and we were both able to stand up pretty much right away under his guidance. He gave us tips after each wave to help us improve. 10/10 experience, would recommend to anyone.

I had booked this for my husband's birthday and since the minimum people to book was 2, I decided to try it as well. Surfing ended up not being for me - I was way too nervous about standing on the board and it was a bit overwhelming when in the moment on a wave because it feels like you go SO FAST - but my husband had an awesome time and we are both so thankful to the instructor, Trevor, for being so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate about the area, our safety, and making sure we had as good of a time as possible. Trevor also tried his best to pump up my confidence after some wipe-outs so I appreciate that too :-p But in the end, I am most happy that my husband got up on a wave (his first ever!) and we definitely feel like we got our money's worth for having the attention just on us for the lesson. Trevor made sure we got all the motions right on the beach before we went into the water so he will make sure you are safe and as ready as you can be. Would certainly recommend and I'm glad I at least tried it!

Fantastic Experience for First Time Surfers!

We had an amazing lesson with Trevor of Gone Surfing! It was just my husband and I, and Trevor gave us a quick land lesson on the basics - how to paddle, how to stand up, common mistakes to avoid- and then we were off in the water! We were given a rash guard and a place to store our things, then had our boards strapped on and we went out to the water. Trevor helped carry out boards into the water (heavier than you think!!) and then helped paddle us out to where we surf (which is MUCH MUCH harder than you think) and then we got to surfing, which was easier than you think due to great instruction! Trevor had us surfing alone and together on multiple waves - I would guess we rode around 10 waves each? When we got back in, we got to see all of the great pics and videos Mackenzie took of us, and now have a great momento of a great afternoon ! definitely recommend a surfing lesson with Gone Surfing when you’re in Hawaii!

Our instructor was Nate, he was very nice. We were both very nervous and getting over fears today. He was very understanding and was easy going. It made it very easy to be comfortable and feel safe out there in the water. We both stood up on our boards and surfed. Just listen to the instructors and they will tell you everything you need to know! It was a great experience, and we both had a crazy adrenaline rush after wards. Totally recommend!

Our menor is Trevor, he is great and always encourages us for our surfing. Though the first time surfing, we can almost successfully stand up on the board! This is a great experience. We really recommend this surfing lesson!

Best Surf Lesson in Waikiki

Great experience. My son and I took a lesson together. Trevor was our surf coach and thoroughly taught skills and safety before going into the water. Jaden stored our belongings in a locker, and we had a great lesson. Totally recommend. Beautiful location .

Following an on-beach lesson we paddled out. The instructor waited for the right waves, gave us a push and we were off. All three of us were able to get up on the board and surf. It was great! Surfing uses a lot of muscles that you may not use in your daily life. I have a new level of respect for surfers.

My family had a wonderful private beginners lesson with Jason, our instructor. He was incredibly friendly and helpful and took all our fears and hesitations away immediately. It made learning how to surf enjoyable and much easier than we anticipated. We each got out to ride four waves each which is far more than we expected. Highly recommend Gone Surfing and their friendly staff (super helpful even with the rescheduling that had to occur with an overbooking conflict)!

Such a friendly and enthusiastic team. We trusted our two teenagers to go alone with the instructor for surf lessons. This was their first surf lesson ever and they were already surfing.
