Really enjoyed this experience! We opted for the cocktail flight. Enjoyed all the tastings including the rum and honey! Delish! Cool to learn about the rum process at a local homegrown site in Hawaii! Definitely recommend! Do NOT skip on trying the BBQ before or after your tour. LARGE PORTIONS!!

Itinerary

Learn about rum making and sample rum at Ko Hana, Oahu’s first and only rum tasting room, complete with an attached farm and distillery. Limited to 20 guests at a time, book your 50-minute rum tour in advance to guarantee your preferred tour time.

Make your way to historic Kunia and the renovated general store of the former Delmonte Pineapple Plantation. Savor a glass of freshly pressed cane juice, then admire the views from the observation deck. Walk through the garden to see sugar cane growing and learn about sugarcane’s history on the island.

End your tour at the tasting bar, and enjoy a tasting of four different rums, with a souvenir glass that you can take home with you.

Very friendly staff and the rum was amazing! The tortoise was the star of the show! They should include a whole section just for him, and maybe sell scraps or veggies to give him food. If you book the 4 PM tour, I recommend getting there about an hour or so early to have a nice BBQ lunch beforehand. I think they should include that as a recommendation to the tour. The kitchen closes at 4 PM.

Trip highlight for our family

This was a trip highlight for us. We learned so much and our two teenage children enjoyed the science and agriculture aspects of cane to rum production as well. Meeting the tortoise was also a plus. The tasting was very generous as well. My husband and I did different ones so we try more things. We ended up getting some gifts for family here, a special bottle of the chocolate rum and a bottle of their honey for the kids.

It’s not a very well known distillery so if you do a tour or a tasting, they are quite intimate and you can ask all the questions you’d like. We had the classic and cocktails tasting and both were very good!

Booked on wrong island. Learned about mistake when we couldnt do tour. Notified vendor and they never responded. Be careful. Oahu and Kauai have same tour, 2 different islands!!

Informative tour, with discussion of sugar cane varietals, the distilling process, and the aging process in many different types of barrels. Tasting, of course, was great! And the cost was very reasonable. Even included a free souvenir tasting glass!

We stumbled upon this rum distillery tour via Viator while nearby at the Dole Plantation, which was just 10 minutes away. What a gem! Our guide JJ was fantastic—super knowledgeable about sugar cane, rum varieties, and the distillation process. We learned tons and loved the tasting session at the end. We each received a cool branded shot glass which was unexpected. It’s a trek from Waikīkī, but if you’re visiting Dole, make this your next stop. Highly recommend!

The rum tour was great! The lady showed us where they keep the rum that’s currently being made, showed us the sugar cane, and allowed us to try the sugar cane. She explained all the rums in detail and was very nice. It was a good experience that I would do again.

The upscale Rum tastings are really strong. The cocktail rums sit a little better on the pallet. . The highlight was This lil lpig next-door, which has wonderful smoked Hawaiian meats ….brisket, beans, and brisket were wonderful. coleslaw is the best ever.
