These events really need to be planned better and have more detail added to them when advertising. I had a tough time trying to find out where the event was on the day of. Event was not at all what a lot of people expected at the event. Honestly thought it would be more of a VIP experience as advertised. Food was really a let down for the price charged. Didn't really have a VIP area to watch tree lighting.

In prior years we tried to watch the tree lighting without going the VIP route and found it unfulfilling. We opted for the VIP experience and were pleased with the outcome. We were able to bypass the crowds with the credentials provided ahead of time, although it took a bit of persistence and persuasion; we got through quickly and efficiently. Once there, the event provided a first-class experience. There were hors d'oeuvres, an open bar, a professional photographer, a full buffet, coat check service, security, and a live band. We could not hear the ceremony or performances at the VIP event. There was a monitor to watch the broadcast; it was in a corner of the room where it was difficult to see and impossible to hear over the inside party. There were a limited number of windows to look down on the festivities. As the time neared for the tree lighting itself, we retrieved our coats and were able to go outside and walk through the uncrowded 'lanes' right up to within 100 feet of the tree itself to enjoy the ceremony and the tree. The gala event itself was a pre-party before the tree lighting ceremony, and it afforded us easy access to the tree.

The food and music were excellent!
I wish there would have been an outside viewing area of the tree lighting though.

The event was a disaster. We spoke to many people who were also very upset about not having a table. We paid for a DINNER gala. We were told tables were an additional charge- which we were not informed of. The" original" venue was supposed to have a terrace and massive windows overlooking the tree. We were emailed that that venue only had beer available and offered a "complimentary upgrade" to another venue. The person in charge-I will be kind enough to not blast his name here- was rude to not only my husband and I- but MANY other couples we spoke to. Trying to show paper credentials to police officers was a joke- we were herded in with people who were spectating. Even the singer for the event had issues trying to get to the venue. The 2 poor bartenders couldn't keep up with the crowd. We spent entirely too much money to stand for 3 hours and try to balance our cocktails on tiny tables that were not sturdy-with one tiny available window facing the tree. This is a joke. Please be aware there is NO structure or common sense for this event.

How do you rate a once in a lifetime event? Magical. It was all about the view. You need to plan plenty of walking time. Tons of people, road blocks, inconvenient route. Walked from Bryant Park to Radisson took 1 1/2 hours. Once we arrived at the Radisson it was easy access to the event. Food was mediocre, band was not necessary (too loud for small space). Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Had a front row view from the balcony. Not crowded. Many people went down to the street before lights went on. We did not. If we had known the event was at the Radisson we would have stayed there but didn’t know until we printed our tickets and our rooms were already prepaid at Marriott. Great experience

Dette var veldig dyrt og et elendig arrangemang. Trodde vi skulle få se det showet som var ute med treet, men veldig skuffende at vi ikke fikk se det. Følte vi ble ranet når vi måtte betale 1800 dollar for dette opplegget. Kunne kjøpt mye mat og drikke for denne prisen og samtidigt sett shovet på tv. Kommer aldri til å anbefale dette til andre, kommer heller til å fraråde folk som vurderer å se dette.

Wat een geweldige ervaring!
Fantastische mensen, heerlijk eten en drinken, Dj met zangeres en een fantastisch uitzicht op de kerstboom! Goed georganiseerd en beveel het iedereen aan! Kost iets... maar dan heb je ook wat! Geweldig!
