This was so much fun! Not only is Frenchman Street very different from Bourbon Street but the music and crowds drawn are so cool! The funk, jass and music in between by the venues/bands was dance provoking 😉. Pandi, our guide/story teller/historian, was personable, funny, and engaging. I will definitely book tours with her again when I'm back in New Orleans! Thank you!

At the second venue we visited, the band was terrible. Others were great, but only one stop included a traditional blues band. Overall, it was a fun evening and our guide was very nice.

This was a wonderful tour. Andre was an excellent guide and did an outstanding job of keeping track of all 27 people on the tour and taking us to see some great bands. We really enjoyed seeing him perform onstage with some of the bands too. The company needs to take the glitter bar off the tour description though, if they aren't going to be able to take people there.

We had a fantastic time on the walking music tour! I would have happily given our guide, Pandi, 5 ++stars — she was knowledgeable, friendly, incredibly talented, and did an excellent job keeping the group on track. We especially enjoyed her stories and the way she brought the history of the area to life. The only reason for the 4-star rating was that two of the scheduled stops didn’t have bands playing. That said, Pandi handled it seamlessly and did a great job pivoting to make sure we still had an enjoyable experience. Overall, a fun and memorable tour. We had three favourite live music spots from the tour and each one delivered something special! The DBA bar was incredible — the talent was truly top notch. We were blown away by the host, who had great style, was funny, (paradise Jazz Band) engaging, and knew exactly how to keep the crowd going. The energy in the room was contagious. Cafe Negril featured an amazing band that brought both engagement and high energy. It was the kind of performance that pulls you in and makes it impossible not to have a great time. At the 30/-90 Bar, the two lead singers completely blew our minds. They could effortlessly play a variety of genres and sounded fantastic doing it. Their versatility and stage presence made for a memorable experience. If you’re looking for outstanding live music. Take the tour! We had dinner prior to this at snug harbour which we enjoyed too they also had a live jazz band who were great!

This tour was fantastic! Pandy was so informative and her musician background lent itself to a truly unique experience! I would highly recommend this to anybody who wants to get a feel for Frenchman Street. So much better than being on Bourbon Street.

Pandi was our guide and she was great at corralling a group of people in/out 4 different music venues! I appreciated her effort to expose us to different types of music at each venue. If you are traveling alone, this is an awesome way to get out and experience New Orleans safely amongst a group.

2 of the four clubs we visited were great. We waited at the first club for the band to start for 30 minutes, the lead singer was very amateurish. The second and forth clubs were fantastic, one was very cool old school traditional jazz, the other was a awesome mix of jazz and R&B. The third club bas very dirty and empty, the band wasn't very good and the place was empty. I was expecting more but it was still fun.

For the cost it wasn't as much as I expected. I didn't sign up to go through a market. I feel it should have gone through more pubs. Paid a lot and didn't see a lot. We could have just walked around ourselves.

That is a very good and fun way to get a deeper understanding and knowledge of the history of music in the city of New Orleans. We visited parts of the French Quarter were we did not visit before. Entered clabs and bars, hosting verius bands that there capabilities and quality was beyond what we heard until this tour. Andre is a great host and tour guide. He is an important part of this group of talented people.

A truly special experience. Our guide was a jazz musician herself who knew about every band playing in every bar. We saw some Grammy winners and Grammy-nominated musicians. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Poor Customer Service

3 hours before our tour, we realized that our hotel was inaccessible to transportation due to total gridlock in and around the French Quarter. We attempted to contact the tour operator to request a rebooking for another date. There was no response to our email and phone message. We then contacted Viator customer service (Lorena), who was very responsive and also attempted to contact the tour operator, with no success. At the scheduled time for our tour, we received a text from the tour guide, asking if they should wait for us. We explained our situation and requested a reschedule. The guide said she would check with their boss. Never heard back until the next day. The tour sent an offer to buy new tickets at a 20% discount. We then called Viator again and the rep (Rina) was very courteous and said she would pursue a rebooking for us, or possibly a refund. Ultimately, Viator emailed that, per the tour operator's contract, Viator was not authorized to refund or reschedule without the operator's permission. Thus, the only option we were given was to spend another $100+ for new tickets. No thank you.
