Take off into the tropical skies above this scenic Hawaiian island as you embark on a once-in-a-lifetime flight above some of Maui and Molokai’s most scenic views. Enjoy views of mist-shrouded rainbows, thundering waterfalls, sheer vertical cliffs, and lush-green mountain valleys, taking advantage of the perfect photo opportunities afforded by your open-air helicopter cabin.
At the end of your ride, land back at Kahului Airport, still “floating” on air after your incredible doors-off flight. Please note the flight terms and conditions in the itinerary section below.

- Total weight per passenger: 230 lbs
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 3 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability
- Not wheelchair accessible
- Most travelers can participate
- Weight restrictions: For a single passenger booking weighing 230lbs or more, a combined weight (2 passengers) of 400lbs or more or for groups of 3 or more an average weight of 190lbs or more an additional seat must be purchased at the time of booking. Any passenger over 250lbs no matter what the combined weight is must purchase a comfort seat. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers on board.

- ONLY YOUR CELL PHONE IS ALLOWED ON BOARD. NO OTHER CAMERA DEVICE IS ALLOWED! Air Maui will provide a lanyard for passengers cell phone that will be worn around their neck at all times during the flight.
- Supplier Terms and Conditions for Doors Off (MUST READ)
- Children must be at least 10 years of age or older to go on doors off. An adult must accompany anyone 10-18 years old. Only age 16+ can sit on an edge/outside seat.
- No hats, bags, sunglasses or any loose items allowed. We provide goggles that you are required to wear. If you have prescription glasses that is fine please wear smallest pair or contacts as they must go under the goggles.
- Must wear closed toed shoes or sandals that strap to your ankles. No flip-flops or slides.
- Long hair must be tied up in a bun or braid.
- Air Maui will provide each passenger a windbreaker jacket for all passengers to wear during flight.
- Cancellation policy: No refunds or rescheduling within 48hrs of flight time. For groups 12 or more 7 days notice is required.
- All passenger names & weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.
- Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
- Helicopter is a shared cabin of 6 passengers and one pilot on each flight.
- Nothing in your pockets. If applicable we will hold car keys in the office while you fly.
- Customers must pay for parking with the QR code at the entrance of the heliport. We have the QR code in our office as well. CREDIT CARD ONLY.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers

We had an incredible trip to Maui for my mom's 82nd birthday, and this was our favorite excursion of all! Drew was an awesome pilot and the views of Molokai and Maui were breathtaking. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. I was worried that 45 minutes would feel super short, but it actually didn't. Amazing trip, worth every penny!!

This was our first helicopter ride and it certainly did not disappoint. We had alot of fun, learned about the island and got some amazing views that you can't get anywhere but from the air. Our pilot Drew was a great narrator and showed us some really neat places.

With the doors off it's cool, I will wear pants next time. They give you a nice light jacket to wear. For someone that doesn't like heights it was scary especially since I chose the edge seat. No handles at all to hold onto. Outside of that it was amazing. Nathan our pilot did an incredible job not only flying but telling us about the islands as we saw the sites. It was the scariest and most exciting thing I've ever done. Highly recommend!

Make sure you plan it right away. Mine got canceled 3 times because of weather or not enough paying customers. I ran out of vacation time and I didn't get to go at all. It was the one thing I really wanted to do while I was there.

During our winter months we too can experience some poor weather at times so I agree planning the helicopter flight at the beginning of your trip is recommended. That way you have days left to reschedule if the weather comes in. I hope you get another chance to get back to the islands and we can get you on a flight!

I had a very disappointing and frankly frightening experience with Air Maui’s doors-off helicopter ride.
Despite active wind advisory conditions, they refused to cancel the flight. The weather was extremely windy, the ride was aggressively bumpy, and visibility was poor due to fog. What was marketed as an exciting scenic experience turned into a stressful and genuinely unsafe-feeling flight.
This was not “normal turbulence.” The helicopter was being pushed around by strong gusts, and several passengers were visibly uncomfortable. Safety should always come before sticking to a flight schedule. It was difficult to enjoy any part of the scenery because we were focused on how unstable the ride felt.
For a company that promotes itself as professional and safety-focused, the decision to proceed in those conditions was very concerning. I would strongly reconsider booking with them, especially during questionable weather.
I cannot recommend this experience.

Thank you for providing your honest feedback. We understand the concerns regarding the wind advisory and feeling apprehensive about flying. I can assure you that you were safe flying with us. Your pilot has over 50 years experience flying here in Hawaii so although winds were high you were safe and in good hands. We often get high winds (our typical tradewind weather) so that is normal and our pilots are used to flying in those conditions.
I have personally emailed you explaining some options because we do want to make this right and have you folks end up feeling better than you left us. We hope to hear back from you soon.

I’m not sure where to start, there is so many positive and amazing things about this experience. First off, Drew our pilot did an awesome job! He was informative & knowledgeable about all the locations from air that we got to see. He knows his aircraft so well to have make it once in a lifetime trip. Drew was down to earth and so kind as a person. The staff was positive and helpful as well when we checked in and through our adventure.

Amazing experience, the views were incredible all around, the pilot was very friendly had a soothing way of talking to you through the whole flight and a great personality. All the staff in the office were very friendly and directions were very clear to understand. Pictures turned out great! Saw multiple groups of Whales swimming below us and the waterfalls were incredible. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Maui!

This was an amazing tour. It was exhilarating with beautiful photo opportunities. The jackets kept us warm, goggle fit well and headset was clear and free from crackles. My only disappointment was the flight went fast. Guess that happens when I'm having an awesome time.

Amazing!! Make sure all your phone batteries are all charged! We surprised our kids and my one son‘s phone died immediately. I wish that I thought to make sure their phones were charged.

Five seats can be very comfortable with good viewing. The 2 seats by the pilot should only be 1 seat.. I booked five seats the com0any took on another passenger due to wait distribution I was sandwiched between pilot and edge passenger. Very uncomfortable unable to move with a rail pressing against ribs, unable to take pic etc. The seat between pilot and edge is not a viable option. Other than seat option the experience is awesome.

Thank you for the feedback. We fly the Astar helicopter that has 2 seats in front and 4 along the back which is how they are manufactured. I apologize that you were so uncomfortable sitting next to the pilot. We try our best to configure a weight and balance with the weights provided where everyone is comfortable but seems unfortunately the front seat was too tight for you. Other thank the seating I am glad you enjoyed the views and experience.

I surprised my wife with the helicopter ride from Air Maui. It was such an awesome experience and so majestic. You literally feel like you are in Jurassic Park. Dylan was our pilot and did an amazing job flying and telling us about all the highlights. We enjoyed it so much that we booked another flight for tomorrow, so we can take our kids. Want them to get to experience what we did.

What a great way to see Maui and Molokai and surrounding islands in the distance. Absolutely stunning! Such a fantastic way to see places I’ve been to from the sky and inspirational for more adventures on the ground.
Air Maui staff were safe, informative and friendly. I wish we could have been able to talk with our pilot during the flight. Drew was a great pilot and obviously loves Maui and his job.

Everyone felt this was an incredible experience and I’d add MANDATORY if you’ve never been to Maui. There’s a brief flight over the Maui coast on the way to Molokai where the really fantastic views are. The staff was very professional and fastidious regarding safety. If you are afraid of heights, like me, take an inside seat. Outside seats can take your breath away at first, but you get used to it.
