Imagine exploring the ocean floor on a submarine tour in Maui, pressing your face against circular portholes in search of reef sharks and fish. On the Maui Atlantis Submarine tour, descend over 100 feet (30m) in an air-conditioned sub, experiencing the sights, sounds, and scenes of life beneath the waves. Please be aware all passengers must be 36" or taller to ride the submarine, a fantastic adventure for all.

The Maui Atlantis Submarine tour begins in Lahaina Harbor, where an open-air cruise brings you out to the dive site and sub. Transfer aboard the state of the art, air-conditioned submarine for an aquatic experience in search of wild marine life.
In 2005, an old whaling ship, the Carthaginian, was scuttled off of Lahaina, and today serves as an artificial reef for colorful coral and fish. Prior to its scuttling in 2005, this area was simply a sandy bottom with very little marine life, and today it houses indigenous fish and a vibrant coral reef.
In winter, from December-May, there’s even the chance of spotting whales on the journey out to the sub, and you never know if one might pay a visit while underwater!

Our family was looking for a spontaneous adventure, and we couldn't think of a better way to spend the day than revisiting a favorite memory. My wife and I had done this submarine tour back in 2007, and we were thrilled to bring the whole family back to experience it again. What made it even more special? The same captain from our 2007 trip was at the helm — a wonderful full-circle moment that made the experience feel truly personal.
The tour runs about an hour and a half and is packed with incredible sights. We spotted eels, a wide variety of colorful fish, and were treated to an underwater world that left everyone in awe. The entire crew was warm, welcoming, and genuinely knowledgeable — they kept everyone engaged throughout the journey.
If you're visiting with kids, especially young ones, this is an absolute must-do. It's the kind of experience that sparks a love for the ocean and creates memories that last — clearly, for us, nearly two decades! And for everything it offers, we found it to be very reasonably priced.
Highly recommend for families, couples, and first-timers alike!

Although the weather conditions were not ideal (it was raining most of the time), the overall experience was great! The crew were wonderful and funny. We saw many different fish and even a white tip reef shark. When returning to the dock we also saw a pod of dolphins. I would highly recommend this experience and would happily do it again.

Had a great time with the family. Crew members were were very nice and eased all worries without question for my daughter (7 years old). Worth every penny and definitely a must take adventure when you have the opportunity!

It was well worth the money spent. We took our 4 children ages 5 to 15 and they all enjoyed it very much! The tour guides were fun and did a great job of pointing things out to us! It felt safe and we saw a great variety of sea life. Would recommend to anyone!

Atlantis was so good to us! We got there late and missed the activity and they allowed us to go on the next one two hours later. And it was fantastic! This was our favorite activity all week. The guide was awesome and made it fun for all of us. I could not recommend this company higher.

The entire experience was a blast. Enjoyed seeing the reef, the ship, and all the amazing creatures. Spotted eagle rays were awesome, and we probably saw at least 10 different fish species, a white tip reef shark, and flying fish on the boat trip out to the submarine.
We booked this adventure for out kid, but we all really enjoyed it.

The Atlantis submarine was a nice way to go under water and see fish, stingrays and coral and a sunken ship without snorkeling or scuba diving. We had our 89 year old mother with us and she did great. I saw families with kids. Recommend.

Quick and easy process, went down 130 ft, saw a couple sting rays, and a reef shark near the sunken ship - lots of fish of course - was great fun for the family.

Sharks, rays, fish fish and more fish. What an incredible experience. Myself, husband and kids were just amazed at all we were able to witness and see. I've always appreciated nature but this made me truly understand how connected we are and how much we must do to protect our oceans.

If u have never been down in a sub, this is a great trip to say u have. They take u down 130ft and make several passes over a ship they sank to make an artificial reef to attract fish. Seeing the fish was cool, but after snorkeling the next day, I saw just as many fish doing that. We did see a few rays tho so that was a plus. I would’ve rated the trip higher but they really just stayed in the same spot going around in circles.

I loved the sensation of descending. We didn’t see a lot of fish but we really enjoyed what we saw and the commentary was great. The sunken ship was really interesting. I would definitely do it again

visually it was great, however none of our camera shots turned out light enough to use. I don't know if a 35 mm camera would work better but an iphone just don't get it.

A very nice fun experience though I expected to see more fish, I guess it depends on the time of day. Saw a couple of baby sharks, a blow fish and one spotted ray fish.
