We had a great time learning to surf in Lisbon. The instructors were friendly and gave all of us ample opportunity to surf. We were all able to get up on the board (2 adults and 2 young teenagers) and enjoy the waves!

Enjoyed the ride to the water. For alittle more my husband and I were able to ride to the beach with the kids that were surfing which worked out great. The surf instructor was great and our kids learned a lot and had a good time. My husband and I also enjoyed watching. Beautiful beach. Busy but not too crowded for a Sunday.

Absolutely loved this experience & would highly recommend. The pickup and drive to the location was super easy and convenient. The surf instructor Joao was the best! He was fantastic at explaining and demonstrating the fundamentals, especially to a beginner like me. We got lots of practice in the water and Joao was super helpful at guiding us on the boards (great equipment) - very positive & great energy throughout the lesson. It made for one of the best days during my first visit to Lisbon & I would definitely do it again going back.

My husband and I did this last week. The pickup location was easy to find, on Lisbon's waterfront, and our driver transported us to the Praia do Castelo in Costa da Caparica. Everything was provided, and then the instructor guided the group through some stretches and gave some instruction. (My husband was the participant; I was happy to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand without surfing!) The instructors were encouraging and spent time with each student, offering tips and feedback to maximize potential for success. As a first-time surfer, my husband discovered that it can be challenging, and the instructors pointed out that the waves weren't especially cooperative for beginners that day. Nonetheless, we had a great time, and got some great photos, too. Tip: After the class, we skipped the ride back into Lisbon with the group, and instead strolled down the beach to have lunch in Costa da Caparica (50-60 minute walk) and then got an Uber back to our hotel in Lisbon.

Our instructor was very nice and enthusiastic, and he gave clear instructions. The water was chilly at first but in the wetsuit it wasn't cold. The surfing itself was not that physically demanding but carrying the surfboard was tiring. Great experience!

When I booked this activity I thought it was going to be a bad idea of 3 out of 5 of us (me, husband and kids 12, 15, and 17). But, it was active and only 2 hours so I thought it was worth the risk. To my surprise, we were all able to get up on the surf board and my 15 year old might have found a new hobby. The instructors were patient and efficient and we all had fun.
While in Lisbon, we went to several other beaches, but this beach was the nicest and least crowded and best for learning surfing of the 3 we visited.
They provide everything you need and the length is a good amount of time for the activity., though it might have been nice to stay at the beach longer.
There is a photographer who takes pictures that you can buy as an option (cash or PayPal) which was nice.

While the actual surfing and instructor was fine, we found the company to be a little disorganized. Because traffic has been so heavy lately on the bridge they asked us to take the ferry over where drivers would be waiting to pick us up. Okay. But when we arrived the driver was not waiting and we spent 5 minutes trying to figure out if we were just supposed to wait or if there was some place we should go. Eventually the driver showed up but said that they needed 2 drivers for all of the students but they only had 1 so we had to wait another 5 minutes for the 2nd driver to show up. And it was in the 90s that day - so hot! And the van had no A/C. Some waters in the van or at the surf spot would have been appreciated. After we had finished surfing there was no communication on where to wait to head back or when we would be leaving. They need to be on time and better communicate to the students what is going on.

We found the best solution to take everybody to the beach in the fastest way, but we had to improvise. That's why some aspects of the trip had loose ends. The driver couldn't find everybody straight away, that's why you had to wait 5min
Regarding the water, we ask everybody to bring their own water. We don't want to create more waste with 40 empty plastic bottles at the end of the day, each day. And you have water at the beach. The restaurant gives you a glass of water, if you ask for it, for free.
We will make sure that everything is going smoother for the upcoming lessons, and we will communicate better all the info, and timings for the transfers

Great instructor! Everyone caught waves! Name started with a J (Joaz? Shirt said Johnny) ….Instructions were clear and perfect for beginners. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try it. We had a great time and spent the rest in the day at the beach.

Our instructors Leo and Johnny were terrific and the photos that Raquel took were outstanding. We are two families with teen and pre-teen kids and Leo and Johnny were so kind, patient and supportive. Everybody in our group caught waves and had so much fun. The conditions in Caparica are perfect for learning and there were even some fun waves for the bit more advanced. All the kids eventually made it past the small white water waves out to where they are just a bit bigger, and they were all stoked after catching multiple waves. They all want to go again!

The pick up and instruction by ‘go surf Portugal’ is excellent, we had a great time, highly recommend. I would book direct in the future as Viator admin did a poor job and brought up to them didn’t answer back. Short story great surf school, Viator a disappointment.

Had a last minute change of plans and booked this tour, and so glad I did. The beach was beautiful, the instructor was patient and persistent to get me to stand riding a wave. I was glad it wasn't any longer as it was hard work. Great vibes. Fun day out.

Had an absolutely amazing lesson and was able to catch a bunch of waves. Would definitely come back.
Warning to cruise travelers: The lesson itself is 3 hours (not including the included transportation) so take that into account when planning. We were did the 9:00am meet up so we were fine but definitely don’t cut it close.

Absolutely loved it. Great deal for the price. I had never surfed before this and I felt super comfortable with the instructors. They were so wonderful! They also have different groups if you are a little more advanced. Can’t recommend enough!! Great activity for a solo traveler or really anyone
