Our guide, Teresa was very nice and picked us up on time. The drive to Fatima was pleasant and the van was air conditioned. However, when we got to Fatima we were dropped off at the entrance to the shrine area, told that there’s an old and a new church, mass at 11, an area where the tree was but not the real site of the tree, that there’s no shade and to let her know when we wanted lunch. She gave me her whatsapp number and left. We decided we wanted to go back to Lisbon after about 2 hours of walking around trying to identify what things were. When we loaded back into the van Teresa offered to take us to the shepherd’s houses but we declined based on the quality of the first part of the tour.
We paid for a private tour of the essentials of Fatima. When I booked this I envisioned someone showing us around the shrine area and highlighting for us the areas of interest with background information. We anticipated a lot more than just being driven to the site and back. I have booked many tours through Viator and this was the first one that was a disappointment.

Marina responded to each of my inquiries and made adjustments to our schedule to ensure we could stay for the evening procession without compromising any of the day's program. Our guide, Paulo was in contact even the night before, arrived right on time, and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable throughout the tour. We had a great time with Angela. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself was exactly what we had hoped for: private driver to Fatima, where we spent hours exploring the Our Lady of Fatima sanctuary and the surrounding area, followed by a couple more stops of significance on the way back to Lisbon.

Fatima is such a peaceful place.
It's not hard to find a Mass going on. Ricardo was so gracious to walk the stations of the cross with us. He took excellent care of us.
