Totally good, except...

Yi_Y, Sep 2023
Totally good, except Chicago 360 and sky deck. Sky deck reservation almost no means for us only can reserve 8:00 or 8:30 AM. And Chicago 360 can not making reservation, and when we visit there on 13:00 was already can not get in.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

Hi Yi, We extend our sincere apologies for the experience you had. We will definitely check this with the attraction. Thanks & Regards, Go City

Excellent value and family fun!

Karen_M, Mar 2022
So glad we purchased the Go Chicago pass. We saved so much money and ended up doing many more activities than we had originally planned! We too 3 boat tours (the seadog was not included but more than worth the extra money), a bus tour, navy pier, Adler planetarium, Shedd aquarium, Field museum. We also managed to get a walk to buckingham fountain and the parks in. Our son loved his mini trip to Chicago!

Response from Host, Mar 2022

Hi Karen_M, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate the positive feedback. It is great to hear that you enjoyed using the pass while visiting Chicago, and saved money as well! We can't wait to hear from you again in the future. Many thanks, DB

Misinformation

Ramesh_T, Aug 2021
Total con job. Never mentioned that reservation are needed for Shedd aquarium, sky deck etc. stated that there was a separate entrance and could walk in. Was turned away at shedd and did not even attempt to go to sky deck. Total waste of money. Avoid at all costs.

Response from Host, Aug 2021

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and sharing your opinion with us. We set a high standard for ourselves, and we’re so sorry to hear this was not met in your interaction with our business. We would like to have additional information, if possible. Could you please provide us with your order information by email: contact@gocity.com? Thanks in advance and a nice day.

Would not recommend

Brooke_A, Jul 2021
I read the reviews before buying and I should have taken them seriously. They told me I don’t need to make reservations ahead of time but that wasn’t correct for the aquarium. They also don’t tell you the sky deck is only available to use this pass Tuesday-Thursday. Considering I bought the pass for Saturday-Monday it would have been very helpful to know this ahead of time. The one thing that is made very clear in the app and on the website is no refunds. I would not use this company again and I would not recommend it. I usually don’t put too much into reviews because I was a server for so long and I learned people like to complain after the fact. This time I should have listened to the reviews.

Response from Host, Jul 2021

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. We are really sorry for the situation you went trough at the moment to use our pass. We would like you to contact our customer service care team at the phone number: 1 (877) 714-1999 or by email: contact@gocity.com in order to do a deeply research. Hands down the best deal out there!

Grace_M, Jun 2021
We were skeptical to purchase this bec of the negative reviews, but everything worked well for us. It's really easy, the diff establishments just scan your QR codes. Hands down this is the better deal than the city pass as you can pick as many as you can fit in your day. We saved over $350 for a party of 7. Skydeck, river cruise, Shedd, hop on bus are a must. We ended the day w an exhilarating escape game that.our teenagers loved you can schedule it pretty late as well. Highly recommend!

Response from Host, Jul 2021

Thank you. This is so great to hear! We always aim to deliver on Choice, Convenience and Savings. We are so pleased you visit something new and you enjoyed the benefits of the pass! We hope to have another opportunity to serve you in the future, best regards!

Horrible experience

Divyesh_P, Jun 2021
I purchased this pass yesterday (6/19) in the morning for our Chicago visit. We were 16 ppl group. I actually wanted to purchase Big bus tour & boat tickets but sales agent said purchasing a package will be cheaper, so I paid in advance & purchased. I also called viator customer service center coupe times when we were on the way to Chicago downtown…Sales folks said everything is good to go but When we reached to first attraction, they said they don’t take Go-Chicago pass, so we had to purchase full price tickets from box office and wasted 2 hours to short out what to do next. It messed up our whole plan, we were able to do what we had planned for. They messed our trip. This is horrible experience. Sales agents are there to sell you pass. When I called customer service, two times while at attraction, they said, they can’t reach their operator onsite so they can’t help me what to do. I had no choice them to request full refund. Which yet to get. Not recommending to anyone.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!

Cameron_S, Jun 2021
absolutely horrible. i want a full refund. asked the rep literally 5 times if we needed to make any separate reservations and she just kept telling us no, our spot is reserved with the pass. told us we just need to present the code and would be admitted into the attractions. got to shedd, sold out. sky deck? sold out. museum? sold out. only got the pass to see these 3 attractions and didn’t get to do any. ruined my buddies birthday and our entire trip. They need to rethink this....

We were very disappointed with the bus...

James B, Apr 2015
We were very disappointed with the bus service. There were no trollies. The only service was the open air buses and at this time of year in Chicago it was quite cold. There were very long waits between buses. They did not run every 15 minutes. All of the employees with whom we had contact were very nice. The guides knew their material very well.

Carolyn_D, Feb 2015
I enjoyed myself but many of the things that were identified on the go card as being discounted were no longer available or seasonal and we were unable to get a deal at all by using the go card during this time of the year

November is not the time to use the GO...

morine, Nov 2014
November is not the time to use the GO Chicago card. Some of the attractions are seasonal, and stop for have reduced hours for the winter months, with no reduction in the price of the card. Even the card activation point opened later than the hours posted on the website, delaying our start by two hours. Disappointed that GO Chicago's architectural river cruise vendor was closed for the season when other vendors were running.

We reached Chicago around 9AM that day...

U K, Sep 2014
We reached Chicago around 9AM that day and went to collect the GoChicago cards around 9:15AM at the office. There were no 1-Day cards available at this place and the we were asked to go to Macy's to collect the cards. The Macy's was not open until 11:00AM being it was Sunday. So, we lost almost 3 hours for getting the passes and effected all our plans very badly.

Robert R, Aug 2014
I had purchased two day cards, went to redeem the voucher and was given only a one day card. The second day I went to the museum and was told that my card wasn't valid. I had to pay out of my pocket to go in because I didn't have time to go across town to get this straightened out. I had requested a refund and three weeks later I am still waiting for my money back. The town was great, but the experience with this card was horrible. I will never use it again in any other city it is offered in.

Jo_A, Jul 2014
I would not do this again. Granted you are not responsible for the weather (rain), but just trying to figure out how to use the card was frustrating. No one was very helpful. In short, it was a waste of money and a big disappointment.

DEIRDRE_H, Jun 2014
We had 3 days to spend in Chicago, and wasted a lot of the morning of the second day picking up the card and information booklet. There should be advice that the card can be picked up at any time, and the two days limit does not start till the first use. That would have been very beneficial to us. We enjoyed the river cruise, and visit to Robie house, and John Hancock Tower, but could have done a lot more if we had picked the card up earlier.

Poor value for money!! What you are not...

David_C, Jun 2014
Poor value for money!! What you are not told is that the card is not valid after 5.30pm for ALL the stated attractions despite advertising the entrance times. We couldn't exchange the voucher until 9am at the earliest so realistically we had just over 8 hours to see what we wanted. Our idea was to see the Chicago skyline at night from the 360 observation deck but had to pay again to do so. Also the hop on - hop off bus company was really the poor example of the companies offering this tour. The buses were really poorly maintained, the microphones did not work and the guides had to shout at the drivers to stop at certain places. The staff were also pretty scruffy with no uniform dress. Lastly the buses only ran every 45 minutes - hardly hop on - hop off.certain

Denis U, May 2014
Good value if you plan how to maximise the benefits available. The imposed time constraints don't make this easy. The grey line hop on and off service came half hourly less frequent than the raal firm.

ADRIENNE_H, Sep 2013
Ended up enjoying our day with the card. However, we decided to redeem our paper voucher at a collection point, after searching for this place for half an hour we were told they no longer operated from this premises. Very disappointing, we were told they may have moved to Macy's. so we then went to the information centre and they told us to go to Palmer House. I had noted that one of the bus tours offered on the card were located in Palmer house, so we then searched for that building. After finding it hidden in the back of a Souvenir shop without even a sign on the front window, we were finally able to redeem our card and begin our day at 11am. It was annoying how difficult redeeming this card was at first, but it was easy to use for the rest of our day. Even though we didn't have enough time to do half the offers on the card. Wouldn't choose this option again, through Viator, unless the card is provided first.

halima k, Aug 2013
I had bought the go Boston card before and it was much better. In Chicago the onformation is not enough and it is a waste of time trying to get it and then to the attractions. The information in the little guide offered is false and not complete. Some attractions were nice though

The Go Chicago card is a real value for...

Gliffton_M, Aug 2013
The Go Chicago card is a real value for money, but the dampener was that the transport was provided which had poor frequency, they said every 15 mins frequency while I collected the tickets, but had to wait for a minimum of 45 mins at each stop, while I was waiting at each bus stop I could see the red chicago hop on hop off buses pass every 1-2 minutes. I had taken a 2 day pass, and used it on a Sunday and Monday. The buses don't ply on Monday's so had to arrange my own transport. Would not recommend anyone buy the Go Chicago Card, there are better alternatives available. Also collecting the tickets is a painful process, as you have to collect the card from Macy's and then get the bus pass from the bus company office in Hilton, which was a 15-20 mins walk.

The Go Chicago Card is ok, but has...

Diego R, Jul 2013
The Go Chicago Card is ok, but has shortfalls: 1. Primarily, it does not give discounts for children, students or seniors. Most of the museums and attractions give these discounts groups; 2. The bus services are not very good. The trolley doesn´t run all days (and we were not informed), the staff at Palmer House is not corteous and gives incorrect information; 3. If you take the 2 day pass several you wil not have enough time to go to all the attractions. You cannot do more than 4 attractions a day; 5. If you know which attractions you want to see, book individually in advance and get the discounts and the avoidance of lines.

Very useful for admissions to sites. One address for picking up card was out of date

Mehdi K, Jan 2013
This card can be good value, especially in the summer time when the cruises are open (worth noting they close during the winter). One tip would be to get the 3 day card (or the lowest one available if it's not the 3 day one).

Kristin W, Jul 2012
We spent 2 days in Chicago. We stayed in the suburbs so by the time we picked up our Go Chicago card we were a bit stressed about getting our money's worth. Everything has to be done by 5:30pm so you are on a time crunch if you start late. It was confusing at first because we thought the card was our ticket but it was not. You still have to get a ticket for everything you do. Getting the bus tour and trolley requires a ticket from the Palmer House Hotel. The trolley and bus tour guides were helpful and knowledgeable but there wasn't really a schedule so we spent a lot of time waiting for the trolley. The visit to the Willis tower and Aquarium made it all worth it as we bypassed the line ups! Definitely worth it once you figure out the system!

cohenj3, Jul 2012
Admission only valid until 5pm for most places. Not advertised at time of purchase. Very disappointed. Hop on/hop off tour was the worst offered in the city.

Brajesh P, Jul 2012
I didnt like the fact that i had to take tickets of all the attraction before 5:30 pm in navy pier. It was not mentioned clearly on website and I came to know only while redeeming the voucher which hampered my plan badly, i could only visit willis tower and navy pier.

Diane H, Oct 2009
I have to say, that after visiting I will not go to Chicago again. Who closes the mall on the weekend and when you get the pass they should tell you that you have a very limited time for one day pass during the week.

Using the Go Chicago card was a little...

Kevin H, Aug 2009
Using the Go Chicago card was a little confusing. I had to move around the city and stop at two different locations, the first to activate the card and the second to activate the associated tour I booked along with the card. Would be nice to have both at or near the same location to avoid wasting time. Conflicting information was given at the Willis Tower as to what the VIP preference is understood as, so we had to wait in line with the general admission crowd to get through security. With the time constraints on the card, it was practicaly impossible to visit more than 2 attractions a day.

Where to go to pick up the cards was...

Reza A, Jun 2009
Where to go to pick up the cards was very confusing. Three places where mentioned on the Viator confirmation. One of them is actually does not support this, and Viator has not updated its information. We went to Macy's to pick up the cards. They were supposed to be there at 10 am. She showed up at 10:30 am. Did not answer any question and knew nothing about the tour; she just issued the cards. Then we had to drive to another site to pick up the tickets for the trolley. We lost most of the first day. I will not buy tickets in advance next time. I will purchase them from the source.

Go Chicago card is a deal, by all...

EZHILARASAN D, Jul 2008
Go Chicago card is a deal, by all means. But a 1 day card is not that much; you can visit 3 places max out of 21 because everything has a 5.30 pm entry time cutoff. You can't expect to get the card at Macy's at 10 am and visit more than 2-3 places before 5.30 pm. If you arrive before 6 pm at Macy's the previous day to collect the card or have the card mailed to your home, you could start out at the entry queue of the first place at the earliest opening time, and even still you can visit at the max 4 places. But I had only one day in Chicago and wanted to visit only 3-4 places. I was able to make 3, and the cost was surely less than the total of the individual entry prices. Don't use a car by to travel between places; take a CTA Visitor Pass--a great deal.
