While it’s free to visit Grant Park independently, plenty of affordable tours can help you learn more about the Chicago park. Lake Michigan cruises that pass the park start at US$34. Bike tours start at US$55 per person, while Segway tours begin at US$66.

Grant Park is home to many of Chicago’s best-known attractions. The park contains Millennium Park (with highlights like Cloud Gate aka The Bean sculpture), Buckingham Fountain, and the Art Institute of Chicago. It also houses the Museum Campus, including the Field Museum of Natural History, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium.

Grant Park, also known as “Chicago’s Front Yard,” is open daily, 6am–11pm. The most popular times to visit the park are weekends, public holidays, summer, festivals, and major events. Note that the hours of individual attractions within the park will vary.

Grant Park is on the Lake Michigan shoreline in Chicago’s downtown Loop neighborhood. It’s easy to reach using public transportation: The Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, and Red lines of the Chicago L all stop nearby, as do Metra and South Shore Line commuter trains and numerous buses.
