Great docent provided education and fun

We traveled in a 2-level boat with the top level exposed and with 360-degree views. Our docent Sadie balanced detailed information with jokes and opportunities for selfies/photos at turnaround points. I was impressed with her knowledge and ability to relate it to various types of people. I learned a lot about Chicago's architecture, and I took a tun of photos!

Awesome way to spend few hours!!

I live in the Chicagoland area. We just wanted to go to the city and do something different. This tour was awesome. Not too much walking, got to go in a lot of buildings with air-conditioning so the weather was not too much of an issue. We just loved it. Learned so much about buildings that we see every day but I’ve never actually gone into. Highly recommend it for locals as well as out-of-towners. Kate was an awesome guide if you can get her I’d recommend that as well.

Great river tour?

This tour was everything people said it would be. The boat went through the locks to Lake Michigan, very exciting. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the skyscrapers and their history. She also gave us a restaurant recommendation - The Chicago Brewhouse on the Riverwalk. We had a great time and dinner! Thank you!

My friend who was visiting in town and I had so much fun on the 90 minute architecture boat tour on the river. This tour was very impressive, our tour guide was extremely welcoming to all guests and very informative on everything Chicago! As a lifetime Chicagoan, this was an amazing experience. This was one of 2 solo trips during my staycation and I loved it. Guide was hilarious! Line got long quick, so get there early if you want to be seated at the top, it makes for amazing pictures. Definitely recommend it as a solo traveler!!

Love it

It was my first time in Chicago, and the tour was fantastic; I was impressed by all the information and the guide's enthusiasm. The 90 minutes were spectacular, and the architecture was stunning. The boat was very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly—right from the moment I arrived, the gentleman scanning tickets in line was super nice. I highly recommend this tour.

Sunset magnificence

The sunset at the end of the 6pm tour with the skyline from the lake was phenomenal. My mom said aside from her daughter’s wedding this was the highlight of her trip. My cousin has been on other tours that did not venture in to the lake. The lake is where our tour started, then we entered the lock to go up river. The tour guide was informative. The volume of the guide was perfect. Interesting tid bits learned. Apparently other tours can have the mic set too loud and it can obnoxious. Do bring a sweater or sweatshirt. I am saying this as a guest who took the tour in July. They do have t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale on board. Two in our party did not heed my wind warning and left with souvenir sweatshirts. They also have hot and cold drinks with snacks. Hot chocolate is a hot commodity on board. There is open seating at the prow of the boat and covered seating at the back. We went with ages 5-67. They did have coloring pages and crayons for the kids. Our 7 year old neurodivergent kiddo did get bored halfway through but we managed to corral his energy. We also had a chance to feed a duck and duckling while waiting for the other boats to gather in the lock. I really appreciated the fact that this was a more intimate setting. It is a smaller boat. Did not worry about kids getting lost or losing our spots when we got up to peruse the decor inside the boat.

Very enjoyable tour!

I've wanted to do this tour for several years. It did not disappoint. We went right away in the morning (9:30 AM) and it was cool enough to enjoy and the boat wasn't croweded. The docent who volunteered was very knowledgeable and we loved hearing the history of each of the buildings. Great tour if you are even mildly interested in history and architecture and the river is beautiful!

Great architecture and delicious eats!

What a fun day of exploring the architecture and food of Chicago. We visited several historical buildings and learned more about the history from our tour guide Chad. It was a hot one but we ducked in and out of the AC and tried Chicago dogs, beef dips and deep dish pizza. It was just my husband and I on the tour so we were able to spend more time at places of interest like the Chicago Symphony performing at Millennium Park, an unexpected suprise! Highly recommended tour.

Excellent Adventure

We went in late afternoon, great time to see the city from the water. Tyler was an excellent guide and gave great insight into the history of the architecture and how it evolved over the last 100+ years. Best to sit top deck to take everything in but wear sunscreen. Wonderful tour with Alan!

Alan was a great tour guide - lots of fun information and entertained all of our questions. It was my 17 year old daughter’s first trip to Chicago, so I wanted her to get to see as much of the main parts of the city as possible, and we definitely hit all the ones I had on my list! The bus itself was clean and well cared for, and I like that it was smaller than the other buses because it made it much more personal. Alan also had great recommendations for places to go, where to eat, and was able to give ideas for spots that were of interest to us specifically. Highly recommended!
