It's a run down uncomfortable trolley,
Tha driver's comments and jokes, weren't for me.
He likes talking about drugs and other stuff that I could go without.

Everything said hop on hop off so we ended up on the competitor hop on hop off bus. Finally got the ticket on the right company, which was nothing more than a recording so never again will we go on the city view not hop on hop off nor will we recommend it.

A pleasant trolley ride through the streets of Boston. Our driver was a very knowledgeable Guide, as well. As we passed important sites and buildings/churches, he gave detailed information about early Boston and its role in the American Revolution. He also, gave us recent History regarding the city. One could get off the Trolley and explore a site such as the ship, Old Ironsides., and then pick up a new trolley 20 minutes later and continue through the city.

I used the City Trolley for two days,
The driver I had on my second day I think his name was Ervin was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He was helpful as well to Spanish speaking riders
Loved meeting Willy by the stop 1 area, so very friendly and great recommendations for lunch

Make sure to call if your trolley/bus is not showing up timely. We waited over an hour at stop 5 and eventually had to call and ask where trolley/bus was. Gentleman who answered initially told me that that was not true. Finally he said that the street for stop 5 was blocked due to hockey game. I explained to him that it was not blocked as we had been watching cars and other sightseeing tour busses drive by for over an hour.

Hugo was AMAZING!! His knowledge of Boston history and the various neighborhoods really added to our overall Boston experience. I loved his personal anecdotes. This was a great way to get an overview of Boston history, allowed to see the places that were of particular interest in an unrushed manner, and take a mental note of other sights we wanted to go back to.
I would highly recommend this tour, especially if your time is limited in Boston, or if it is near the start of your Boston adventure. Taking the tour with Hugo will really make the tour extra informative and entertaining.

Excellent way to see the highlights in the city. Drivers/tour guides are very knowledgeable and give you such insight into the city’s history.
For cruise travelers, the pickup spots are far from cruise terminal. You will need to taxi or Uber to one of the stops.

It was a good experience, but not a great one. Our driver/guide was fine, seems like he was trying to hit one-liners, but not many were taking them. We stayed on for about 7 out of the 9/10 stop, not because of the driver, just an interest stop we wanted. Once again, good, not great!

There was no presence at the cruise ship dock. No signage. No people. Frustrating as we needed to make a call. Basically told we need to go to stop one. Took cab to the boarding g location. (Would have been nice to know that.) The first individual was very rude that we got our tickets from. Pouring rain. All we wanted to do was get on the bus. However, she said you can only go around once. Our first bus driver was not good at all. So we got off the bus at the next stop in the rain. We waited and then on another bus. Nice bus driver. We continued to get off and on at each stop in spite of the weather. When we were done with our “one round” we adhered to the policy and got off. Other folks on this same tour indicated they were not given those instructions. They rode around several times. Disappointed.

I had called the company before booking and and spoke with a gentleman about their services, and asked if there would be assistance with a walker with getting in and out of the bus, he said of course. They would carry it in and out of the bus. 1 out of 3 helped us. With stop 7 to 10 we had a great driver very personable, the rest of the route was narrated by a recording. When asked a question he answered look at the map.

This is a fantastic fun and informative tour . We had two fantastic bus drivers Hugh (#113) who was informative and hilarious and Viola(#118) who kept narrating the city non-stop with great stories.
The wait at stops is no more than 15 minutes and the app is interactive so you can see just where the next trolley is and which trolley number. Loved this and it really helped us understand where we wanted to go to explore further all while getting alot of great information and fun little tidbits and stories about buildings and activities past and present. Would highly recommend!
