We pickup from MOST ALL hotels in downtown Boston ONLY. Several in Cambridge, Seaport and South Boston. If you are not staying at a downtown Boston hotel, you may be asked to meet at one of the many pickup points within the city. We do NOT pick-up from airport location hotels, sorry. The tour coordinator will contact you 24 hours in advance to make arrangements. Thanks! Please call us if you were not given an exact time. much confusion on pick up driver was 20 minutes down road, boss finally called him made him turn bavk to hotel for gursts that "may" be there. They were not. Barely made it to ferry. Return trip hit major congestion in Biston. Driver did not attempt alternate route or seek guidance just plowed into traffic and crawled thru Boston. we arrived at hotel 1 1/2 hours late. Spent 3 hours total on return trip. Company too automated and not organized

Hi, thanks for the review. I’m so very you had a bad experience with one of my drivers. In my opinion, he did all the right things;
1. He went back to a hotel to get a guest that said was outside waiting. It’s not his fault the guest left after his return.
2. Drove you safely from Cape Cod back to Boston without putting your lives at risk because of traffic.
I do question the “3 hour ride” part you mentioned though. In the 8 years we have been doing tours, it has NEVER taken more than 2 hours. And that’s with the most extreme traffic conditions.
I hope you had a great rest of your stay in Boston.

Including the optional on island tour there is lots of time spent in a minibus. BUT there's almost complete live commentary from the drivers. Timings and guidance ensured a smooth day from hotel pick up, across a ferry & back to the hotel. A long but great day.

Our group had a disappointing experience.
1. The ride with our driver, Keith, from the hotel to Woods Hole and back was great.
2. We arrived at Martha’s Vineyard and discovered that the comfortable, air conditioned van we booked and paid for our island tour didn’t exist. We were told the tour was overbooked and now we had to ride in an old school bus with no air conditioning.
3. The sights we saw from the bus consisted mostly of trees and shrubs along the road.
4. We only made ONE stop at Gay Head Cliffs in Aquinnah. We made no other stops.
5. Your ads and “Tour Option Description” on the email I received was misleading.
6. We did not receive the tour experience you advertised and we paid for, so I am requesting a full refund for the cost of the add-on tour for the four adults in our party. We were looking forward to the tour and traveled a long way only to be disappointed.

The tour was not as described. First of all, the tour was NOT on a comfortable, air-conditioned van. Instead, we were on an old school bus. When we inquired about the van, we were told that our tour had been overbooked and we had gotten bumped to another tour with another group. The tour guide was nice, however, most of his stories were morbid and depressing. The tour itself was not at all as expected. We only made one stop and that was at Gay Head Cliffs and Lighthouse in Aquinnah. We made no other stops! Most of what we saw were trees and shrubs on our tour. I would not recommend this tour to anyone visiting Martha’s Vineyard.

The NEX transportation was good. Keith gave a lot of information. Going to the Vineyard we sat in the very back seats and could not hear most of what he was saying. The Vineyard was beautiful. Edgartown was mostly shopping and restaurants. Oak Bluffs more things to see.

The tour guide getting us to and from the Ferry was amazing. However, the guide that actually drove us around Martha's Vineyard was not great for many reasons. He was extremely rude to passengers on the tour and when we stopped for little breaks, we were all unclear to how long the breaks were for. We had 2 young ladies on the tour that were talking very quietly amongst themselves during the tour. He let us all know that he didn't appreciate that. After one of the stops, we all waited outside the van because we didn't know if it was locked/unlocked. He made a rather snide comment about him having to open the door for us.

Keith was full of information about Boston & MV, he made sure everyone was familiar with ferry port before leaving us and gave many suggestions for things to do in Boston and on the island. NEX staff was always available when I called with questions and friendly. I would definitely use NEX again if in Boston.

The trip was two parts, first a large van ride from Boston to Wood Hole, where we caught a ferry to the island. Once there you have the choice to tour the island on your own or join a second large van that takes you around the island. This is what we did. The tour was informative, but you don’t stop anywhere for an extended period of time. ( 2- 15 minute stops). Then you return to the ferry port, Oak Bluff, where we had lunch.

The ride to the ferry was great. The driver was interesting and informative. The tour on Martha’s Vineyard was mediocre. The driver seemed uninterested. The scheduler called his phone several times and when he didn’t answer she called some of the passengers. When one finally answered the driver took the phone and he and the scheduler argued out loud with all the passengers listening. And he was on the phone while driving. All in all it was not a very good experience.

Our driver Rory was excellent and very knowledgeable- obviously cared about his job and customers. Drive from Boston to Cape Cod took about 1.5 to 2 hours and then a .45 minute ferry ride to Martha’s Vineyard. Our weather was perfect and we took the optional tour on Martha’s Vineyard which was excellent. Our only suggestion was that an additional.10 minutes be added to the 2 stops we made as they felt very rushed. We enjoyed the cottages before the Ferry and drive back to Boston. Would recommend this tour.

Friendly and knowledgeable driver. We didn’t do the optional tour, but he shared some history on the way up and good dining recommendations on the way back. Its a good alternative means of transportation from downtown Boston if you don’t want to drive or take a bus.

I had always wanted to see Martha’s Vineyard and this tour was a great way to get a sense of island and take in its charm! Everything was smooth with regard to the logistics/transportation. I would highly recommend signing up for the (optional) 3 hour island tour! You see the entire island with a local guide, such a bonus. It rained buckets the day we went, so that wasn’t ideal, but no one could control that. I also wish there had been some time on the tour or afterwards to shop and walk around. We had just enough time for lunch before getting on the ferry. Great tour and worth the time and effort!

Tour operator refused to pick us up and lied about the situation to Vistor. This is a dishonest and unprofessional company, don’t do business with them!!!

Hi Eric, thank you for writing. This is completely false. Your driver called you the day before with a pick up time of 640 from the Marriott Cambridge. You said you wanted to be picked up at seven. He said that is just not possible because he has other stops to make. When he arrived at 6:40 he sent you a text message and a picture of him outside of your hotel saying he was there. 10 minutes went by and no communication from you whatsoever. He called three times and it went straight to voicemail. He left and had to move onto other pick ups. After several more minutes, you finally called and demanded he turned around to pick you up. At this point, it was too late. He had to leave Boston, fight traffic on Cape Cod to get the rest of the group to their assigned ferry departure. For future readers, please understand it’s very important for you to be on time for your pick up. Our drivers can only wait so long before they have to leave. Pick ups are strategically coordinated for a reason. Thank you.

I took the Martha’s Vineyard Day Trip from Boston with the optional island tour and had a great experience! Form pick up to ferry, tour, and drop off, everything was well organized. The island tour was a great way to see the highlights and learn some history. We had just enough free time to explore, shop, and grab lunch. Martha’s Vineyard is beautiful and peaceful, and this trip made it easy to enjoy without the hassle of planning. Highly recommend!

if you can take the tour once you get on the island i highly recommend it. The driver and the island driver (tour guide) were awesome. there is a lot to see so it will take the entire day but don't miss this experience. great day!!

Keith was great. Informative. Same for Liz. The weather sucked. Not your fault. Unfortunately Marthas Vineyard itself has a lot left to be desired. Houses that are dilapidated. I understand why but it’s a shame it just isn’t the place you read about in books.
