It was interesting but I would not do it again or suggest it. It was far too long. some places there was no need to stop at and the guide could have just kept talking as we walked. Food was alright but would have liked a bit more more the price paid.

Definitely pick this one!!

If you love seafood, this tour is for you. We learned a lot about the fishing industry and got up close to the boats and inside one of the packing plants. We even saw a flock of seagulls stealing fish from one of the trucks. The tastes of seafood included an amazing chowder, fish tacos, fresh sushi, lobster roll and fresh oyster.

Great tour

Highlight of our trip

Nicole_P, Aug 2026
Absolutely incredible tour!! The Behind the Scenes at the Historic Fish Pier tour was one of the highlights of our time in Boston. Our tour guide, Cie Peterson, was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable, so much fun, and seemed to know all the right people! We started at the historic Yankee Lobster Co., which had delicious food and great vibes. Easily the best clam chowder we had in the area! From there, we got to go behind the scenes at Red’s Best and see part of the journey seafood takes from the boats to processing. Everyone there was so nice and willing to answer our questions, and they even made us some incredible bluefin tuna sushi rolls! Along the way, we learned more about the history of the Fish Pier, the changing waterfront, and the development happening in Boston, including seeing where the new Fidelity building is located. It really gave us a better understanding of how much Boston has changed over the years while still maintaining such an important connection to the seafood industry. Our final food stop was James Hook & Co., and we highly recommend going while the original location is still there! Honestly, our only regret was not doing this tour on our first day in Boston. It gave us such a great sense of the city’s history, the importance seafood has played in Boston, and how much the area has changed over the years—all while eating some absolutely delicious food. Even after the tour was technically finished, Cie took extra time to give us recommendations and show us another really cool spot. That extra effort made the experience even more special. If we could take another tour with her, we absolutely would! Highly recommend this tour—especially early in your Boston trip!

More food stops than I originally thought and all were great! I would recommend for an easy walking tour and fun few hours.

Terrific Experience. Will book again. Had a whole experience journey that I loved. Will bring all my future visitors to boston to come here.

Yummy History Tour!

This was a lovely walking tour! Our guide, Cie, was very knowledgeable and super sweet! The food tasting was delicious! (The BEST clam chowder!)

Learning and Tasting Tour.

Karl_S, Aug 2026
It’s not just a tour for tasting different foods. It’s also a terrific source of local historical information related to both the locale as well as the food itself.

Delicious experience

Erika_S, Aug 2026
Nabil was such an amazing guide! We had a great time, saw cool sites, and ate AMAZING food! I also feel like we got so much value for the cost! Highly recommend!

Nothing to drink

JoAnne_M, Aug 2026
We had 3 stops, each with great food. However, we were only offered a cup of water at the first stop. The outside temperature was over 90 degrees. There was no availability fluids for the rest of the trip. I brought a water bottle with me, but that was done by stop #2. Our tour the day before offered water at each stop. Also said if we needed some in between stops that we could get something. Food doesn't taste as good when your mouth is like cotton.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Hi Joanne, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the food at the three stops visited during the tour. We are sorry, however, to learn that the availability of water and other beverages did not meet your expectations, particularly given the high temperatures on the day of your tour. We can appreciate how uncomfortable it would be to spend the day feeling thirsty, and how this would have impacted your overall enjoyment of the experience. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will share your comments with our local team for review, particularly regarding access to drinking water throughout the tour. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know about your experience. Warm regards,

Travis was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure to get us comfortable and seated before bringing us our food and making sure we had anything we needed. This was a great way to get little bites of Boston.

The Best of Boston

Carkethia_A, Jul 2026
She was an outstanding guide—attentive, caring, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had a great experience. She paid close attention to every detail and treated everyone with the utmost respect and kindness. Her knowledge of Boston's history was impressive, and the tour was both informative and enjoyable. It was an amazing experience, and I would absolutely do it again. I would definitely request her as my guide on my next visit.

Walking Tour

AndrewKamberg, Jul 2026
Tour guide was great and knowledgeable. Not much of a food tour, more of a walking tour. Did not stop at the third spot listed in description. This would be the 5th or 6th food tour my Wife and I have done around the world, and its the first that we left hungry. Not because we did not like or want was provide. For the price we do not think the tour was work it and do not recommend it.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Dear Andrew, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to learn that aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand that meal preferences and portion sizes can vary from traveller to traveller, and we are sorry to hear that some of the included meals did not feel sufficient for you. We also regret any disappointment regarding the itinerary. While adjustments can occasionally be made due to local circumstances, we appreciate that changes can impact the overall experience. We are disappointed to read that the tour did not deliver the value you were hoping for. At the same time, we are pleased to know that your tour leader and the guidance provided throughout the trip were highlights of your journey. Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective. We value your feedback and will ensure it is shared with the relevant teams as part of our ongoing efforts to improve our tours. With thanks,

The best!

It’s a great outdoor walk. Don’t plan another thing too close to ending time so you don’t have to rush.

Fabulous Tour

Susan_H, Jul 2026
I loved this tour. Our guide Nabil was really informative and passionate about the food, the neighborhood and the local fishing industry. The fishing pier was one of the most unique places I have been to on a food tour! And all the food was delicious!

Great tour.

Anthony_E, Jul 2026
Great Tour. The food tastings were an excellent assortment of Boston seafood highlights. Claire was very knowledgeable in regards to the history of the seaport and the food we sampled and an all around excellent and awesome guide. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.

Great Tour

John_J, Jul 2026
Small group and our guide Will knew his stuff. Took us to good restaurants which we would visit again

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear John, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your tour with our guide Will and that our guide exceeded your expectations. We strive to provide great local experiences, so your feedback means a lot to our team. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future! Kind regards, Intrepid Urban Adventures Team

Delicious seafood about the seaport area

William_P, Jul 2026
Will, our guide was very personable and went out of his way when things went a bit awry. I would recommend not running this tour on major festival days . It made wait times at our stops unreasonable…

Ill planned and not executed

Christy_M, Jul 2026
Tour guide was late. In 2 1/2 hours we had a bowl of clam chowder. Nothing was prepared for us. Nothing was ready. We ended up leaving the tour, which is the first time I’ve left a tour ever in my life.. the company said that we left the tour because we didn’t like the vibe and will not give us a refund. Do not book this tour!!!

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear Christy, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry to read that your time with us didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately, one of the food vendors we visit was exceptionally busy on the day, which resulted in an unexpected delay to the tour. We appreciate how frustrating this would have been, and we regret that your experience ultimately led you to leave the tour early. A member of our team will be in touch with you directly to further discuss your experience. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. Best regards, Intrepid Urban Adventures Team

Boston seaport- a food tour must

Diana_Z, Jul 2026
We had a great time with Maddy walking around the seaport visiting the old classics in Boston. I had lived in the city for 20 years but now life elsewhere. It was so cool to go back and revisit and know the classics are still there.

Boston behind the scenes good tour

John_R, Jul 2026
Will was awesome and tour was great. He was knowledgeable and kept a great pace. Would highly recommend

Great food, but not well-planned

Robert_G, Jul 2026
The food choices on this tour were excellent -- clam chowder, lobster roll, tuna sushi hand roll, and oysters. We also enjoyed Travis, our guide, who was fun and informative. But...our guide did not check ahead and took us to a scheduled restaurant that was closed for the day, forcing him to re-route our group to an unscheduled stop. The tour also went well past the scheduled end time.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear Robert, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed the food tastings, and that Travis' fun and informative approach made your experience such an enjoyable one. At the same time, we're sorry to hear that unexpected changes to the itinerary and the tour running beyond its scheduled finish time detracted from your overall experience. We appreciate you taking the time to share these details, and we'll ensure your feedback is shared with our local team so they can review the planning of the tour and help minimise similar disruptions in future. Best regards, Intrepid Urban Adventures Team
