Wow, what a great experience. It didn't hurt that the sun was shining and so it was much warmer than it could have been. Our guides, Rhue and Caroline, were very welcoming, informative, and helpful. The water was flat, and we guided our kayaks between the ice which was beautiful. They made sure that we were all safely across the lake and back. Once across the lake, we walked to a higher and closer vantage point to take in the beauty of the glacier. Lunch was delicious and I love that there was not much trash in their packaging. They used reusable containers and cute cloth bags to pack each lunch. Then back to the train for a glorious ride through glaciers not seen from the road. We were even lucky enough to see a bear and her cub cross our path at the Grandview glacier. The entire trip was timed perfectly, and we arrived back in town at the designated end time.

The glacier was amazing! We took the train from anchorage to spencer lake where we met our 4 guides; each of them were very knowledgeable. We kayaked to the glacier, about an hour, and did a short hike to a view point to get a better view of the glacier. We kayaked back and had lunch. We then took the train a bit more south where we saw a moose and 3 bear cubs. Overall it was an amazing experience and would definitely recommend.
The trip was very wholesome. Our tour guides Ryan, Jess, Ted and Olivia were so great and very connected with nature. Perfect people for the tour. I loved the homemade lunch. It feels like a field trip with a group of friends.
This trip is expensive but it's totally worth it. You get all your money's worth. We had a full day with Brianna and Jack. They were so informative and friendly. We had 1 day to spend in Anchorage and wanted to explore and do as much as possible in one day and this excursion checks all the boxes to get a comprehensive idea of what the area entails and offers. From taking the alaska railway to the kayaking to the glacier, which is fantastic to the small hike up the glacier. Lunch is good and provided along with snacks and hot chocolate. The guides, Brianna and Jack were so accommodating. They went above and beyond and couldn't have asked for better guides. Do yourselves a favor and take this excursion.
Our tour guides, Jack and Brianna were PHENOMENAL!!! So kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They both went out of their way to make our experience memorable and unforgettable. Jack and Brianna are a huge asset to this tour. We felt like they were part of friend group and made our experience one we will never forget. Would definitely recommend this tour 100%!!
You really get to kayak near, safely up to the glacier. Guides were great. Only thing I would suggest is a step process on train / bus info
This was a great experience! The crew made it fun and exciting. We felt safe and were impressed by the professional crew. Lunch was delicious. The kayaking was amazing, it was interesting to see the glacier up close. The afternoon train was a gorgeous view. The only recommendation I would give would be to tell guests that they need to go to the ticket counter in Anchorage to get the tickets , it was not clear in the instructions!

This was an Awesome experience! Well planned out by the guides which were super friendly and helpful. The train ride was cool also- saw a moose along the way! Lunch was delicious. Couldn’t ask for a better day. I traveled Solo but quickly felt like part of the family

The most fabulous thrilling and breathtaking experience you can have from Anchorage. It starts with a train ride from Anchorage to the Whistle Stop, a remote end of civilization place, but just ahead is the breathtaking Spencer Lake and Spencer Glacier. The guides are all well informed seasoned and knowledgeable- They had everything covered. We kayaked 2.5 miles across the freezing waters and saw the most spectacular sites. Then we hiked about a mile to a ridge where we got a better view of the huge glacier. Kayaking back was easier where a sack lunch was waiting for us. Afterward our journey took us on a scenic train ride further up the Chugach National Forest where we saw black bears and bear cubs. However if I had known about the rafting option, others took a raft down the river (not sure of the rivers name), we may have done that. Awesome experience. Totally worth the money and worth the 6 am train time. The only thing I can say is that we didn’t know what to do at the train station at 6 am. We assumed a tour rep would have met us there. They did not. Just go to the ticketing station and pick up your ticket that is prearranged for you. It will be there waiting for you. But after that slight uncertainty, all went as according to plan. Loved it so much. Thanks Alex, our bird loving wonderful guide.
It was amazing, the guide was knowledgeable and has 20 years experience. My husband and I loved the train ride to and from, we saw amazing scenery and took beautiful pictures.
This tour was an amazing way to experience the Chugach Mountains, its lakes, and glaciers. It includes scenic trains, kayaking, hiking, and a peaceful lunch by a glacial lake. The guides - Alex, Leo and Will - were all friendly and knowledgeable. Though from a distance, we even got to see multiple moose plus a black bear and her three cubs. A long but wonderful day!
It was everything we asked for and more. The lake and glacier were amazing. The snacks and lunches were delicious. Our guides were fabulous. It was impressively organized and a full day.

The train wasn’t as expected, too slow and too long
Great guides, kept us safe, great equipment. Lunch was delicious! Kust lovely! Train ride was beautiful - bring your camera! Recommend to make sure you tell conductor you’re getting off early if you’re eating breakfast on train.
Loved this experience! The team was great and the glacier was incredible.
The one drawback is that they don't have any solo kayaks for participants, so they made people pair up. My partner was great, but I could see where it might not be. So, a caution for individuals or odd-numbered parties.

"Magical" is the perfect description of this tour. Kayaking to the glacier was surreal. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is physically capable.
& the water is very cold; I recommend wearing quick drying/wool layers and a waterproof coat and waterproof boots. I did get wet on both portions of the tour, but wasn't cold because I was wearing quick drying pants and wool base layers/socks.
