It was a rainy day but still fun! The AWCC was super and we saw a black bear on the way back. Nice to be in a small group too. Grace was our guide and was wonderful—so knowledgeable and just an amazing host! Highly recommend!

This tour was wonderful. The bus was clean and comfortable. The tour was relaxed and we had the right amount of time at each stop. We were able to see all of the bears roaming around. Adding the glacier tour was well worth it to see one up close. Brooke was informative and kind. She was by far the most memorable tour guide I've ever had. We're so in love with Alaska now!

We had an amazing experience on this tour, and Grace made it truly special. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information throughout the trip. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and made everyone feel welcome.
Grace went above and beyond by taking photos with her own camera and sharing them with us afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch. She also gave us excellent recommendations and helpful tips, making our overall experience even better.
I highly recommend this tour, and if you get the chance to have Grace as your guide, you're in for a fantastic experience. Thank you, Grace, for making our trip so enjoyable and memorable!

I cannot recommend this highly enough for people looking for a starting tour to the area. We covered some of the scenery of the of the coastline, a (pretty) easy hike up to glacier viewing and whatever you do, get the salmon chowder when you stop for lunch. Hunter was great, knowledgeable, funny and a very safe driver. He pointed out an eagle's nest and we were lucky enough to see the parent feeding the eaglets!! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

A perfect day trip, enough time to see Anchorage's nature and its surrender. It takes less thana day, so one do other things, after the excrursion.

Too much time at Conservation Center. Portage Glacier cruise portion was the highlight. Nice scenic drive from/to Anchorage.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
We thank you for sharing your thoughts about this excursion.
At times we have found visitors to be less than satisfied due to our far North West Pacific weather. Our area is surrounded by wilderness and possess an abundance of wildlife and geological wonders such as glaciers.
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee all sightings will be viewed since conditions varies by season, ocean tides, safety, third party groups and powerful Alaska weather conditions that can be mild-to-harsh year round.
Again, thank you for sharing your experience.
Please consider the writers bias when reading this review. We read all reviews and strive towards adjusting to meet our world-class ranking.

James was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable about the area, plus a great candid photographer, and excellent driver. He gave us all tips on what to watch for and where to look. We saw bald eagles, a mother and two young moose, even a whale blow and go back under. Recommend!

We had a fabulous tour with Patrick and would highly recommend this tour to others visiting Anchorage. We were a group of six, including teenagers and seniors and this tour was enjoyed by all. Patrick was incredibly knowledgeable and shared history and information on the history of Anchorage,Turnagain Inlet and the many glaciers we saw. We really loved the photo taking tutorial which helped improve the quality of the many pictures we took. We really appreciated that Patrick did not rush us and gave us ample time to explore and take pictures at each stop. The wildlife center was also enjoyed by all. Overall a wonderful tour!

What a fantastic experience! Patrick made this trip so enjoyable and I have him to thank for me taking the Portage Glacier boat ride! I would have definitely missed it on so much. This tour was one of the best I have ever gone in in all my 74 years. Patrick made this trip so much fun. He even had a little trivia game at the end. Thank you Patrick for being such a great tour guide!

A great opportunity to get out of Anchorage and into the wilderness! James was excellent at taking photos and providing suggestions! We saw many animals both on the drive and boat ride, as well as many at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. The boat ride was a good way to see the Portage glacier close-up! A fun afternoon!
