Melissa was great as we had the luxury of having a Native, Inuit not only show us the history about the places but her own personal stories which was so rare to have. Our experience, also being Native Hawaiians made it more relevant and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery, delicious food tastings and rare moose sighting!

Itinerary

Meet your guide in Downtown Anchorage prior to your morning start time. Learn about Alaska’s rich cultural heritage from your guide as you make your way to your first stop at Ship Creek, where you can watch salmon running upstream for much of the year.

Pass by important Anchorage landmarks like Earthquake Park and Lake Hood on your way to your next stop, Alaska Wild Berry Products. Watch a 20-foot (6-meter) tall chocolate waterfall tumble toward the ground.

Next, continue to Alaska Sausage and Seafood, where you can sample northern delicacies such as smoked salmon and reindeer sausage. They can pack it for traveling if you want to buy some to take home.

Then, continue to the ULU Factory, where you can watch traditional knives being made and learn how to use a ULU knife and cutting bowl. Finally, complete your tour at the Point Woronzof viewpoint, where you can see the city skyline, Cook Inlet, and the glacier-capped peak of Mt. Denali.

Return to your hotel or any other specified point in downtown Anchorage at the end of your tour.

Donna was a great guide, very knowledgeable and engaging. Unfortunately a few of the scheduled stops were closed for Christmas, the ulo factory and the salmon tasting which we had been looking forward to so not super happy about this, but still will give 5 stars because of Donna.

Great way to learn about local life at Anchorage

David_C, Sep 2025
Gary was a great tour guide and did his best at trying to find us some local wildlife to view. We all ended up buying something at each stop; at the Ulu store, the sausage store and the chocolate sweets shop. And Gary was non stop information about the locals and the local information. Great afternoon excursion!

Easy, comfortable way to see the city!

Julia_C, Sep 2025
Donna has been in the area 1/2 a decade so could give the old, the new, the preservation efforts, and everything in between!

Pretty good

Theresa_W, Sep 2025
Pretty good mix of things to see with some touristy things thrown in. The only bad thing was the samples. Sausage samples were tin and limited to two samples each. Chocolate samples were sparse and nothing interesting. But the planes were cool and turn again was great.
