Dan our guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable and fun. The trip was extensive. We explored the salmon run, visited numerous places for photo opportunities on route to the conservation centre, all were spectacular. It helped our guide was a local and knew so much. The centre was one of our highlights. Was absolutely wonderful. Would do this trip again, do worth every penny and great valuefor money. Supporting such a valuable organisation.

Best Guided Tour!

AlisonParisTrip, Jul 2022
Any tour you will take in Alaska will provide breathtaking scenery but what really made this trip the best was our guide (old Gary). His knowledge and love of Alaska radiated all throughout this experience. By far the best guided tour experience I have had in my travels!

Tour bus did not show up...

linda_g, Jul 2022
Tour bus did not show up and there was no communication from tour operator. A replacement bus did show up an hour late. Guide was excellent and made up for the delay. Had an enjoyable time.

Response from Host, Aug 2022

Sorry for the delay as explained on the day of tour. Driver got Covid had to find a quick replacement. Again, sorry and glad all worked out. World is a bit off but we can always make it happen.

Worst Ever

Catherine_V, Jul 2022
total scam. no feeding the bears. you watch from a far distance. i’ve fed the bears with the conservation center and you actually go behind the scenes. this advertises feeding but don’t waste your time or money. totally false advertising!!!!! even the conservation center told me it was not sponsored by them. I lost over $300 with this company. if i could give negative stars i would.

Response from Host, Jul 2022

So sorry that you thought you were misled but you were not. The description on our tour says exactly what you got. We time our tour so you will watch the bears being fed not by you but wildlife staff and you got to see it. I think you thought you were going to actually "hand feed" the bears with your three children which our description does not say. Even when you go behind the scenes you still watch from a far. Absolutely on our description does it say that you will "hand feed" bears or go behind the scenes does it? You made everyone including the wildlife center and your husband and three children so uncomfortable by going into the gift shop yelling and screaming about you actually not being allowed to hand feed bears when the description on our site clearly does not say that. You went above and beyond to make an entire van uncomfortable for 5.5 hours because you could not hand feed bears. The driver did everything possible to make you happy up to including stops not on the description and going out of his way for an extra hour to make you happy. The tour also included an extra 1/2 hour at the conservation center in order to witness the bears being fed which you clearly saw as stated on our description and by you personally. The normal conservation visit is just one hour but you got to stay an extra 1/2 hour for an additional $16.00. Our description states: Watch Bears Feed: Board your Turnagain Arm Shuttle for the guided drive along Alaska’s most scenic highway. From beginning to end there are dramatic views of mountain scenery and the Cook Inlet. At the 140-acre Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, jaws drop in awe-even those of longtime Alaskans. AWCC’s mission is to provide refuge for orphaned, injured and ill animals-those that can’t survive in the wild. Your shuttle will take you directly to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where you can witness Alaskan Wildlife up-close. We have timed this tour so that all customers will enjoy the bear feeding! Your journey to include an extra one and a half hour visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center begins with a custom tour of Turnagain Arm and is a treat you won’t want to miss. On the way to the wildlife center you will be traveling through the Chugach State Park down Alaska’s most scenic stretch of highway. Turnagain Arm is a “Must See destination” via The Turnagain Arm Shuttle. During the tour you were sent this exact description but apparently you wanted to throw your weight around and ruin not just your husband’s vacation but your kid’s wildlife experience too. The driver said that of all the people in the 14 passenger van not even your kids or husband and other passengers were upset. Others even commented that they knew they were not going to hand feed bears. You made a spectacle of yourself and not only to yourself but everyone you ran into. I can't believe your behavior. You did not even have the guts to call the company to complain. Where did you lose money? You paid only $16.00 per person for a family of four to spend an extra 1/2 hour at the wildlife center. Where did you lose $300.00 dollars? This review is not legitimist. I hope others will through this review and take the time to read the many good reviews.

Great tour and guide.

This was a terrific tour because we had a great tour guide, Therron. He took his time, stopping at many wondwrful points of interest.

No Bear Feeding Occurs.

Luke_R, May 2022
Would have given 5 stars because the tour was amazing. But, even in this review it says “Bear Feeding” which is not what this tour is. It’s a guided tour down the Seward Highway. You stop off at a glacial river and the conservation center. Beautiful sites.

Wonderful first day of our vacation!

LeeGosney, Jul 2018
The driver was excellent and gave us a lot of information in a very relaxed, friendly manner. We saw everything and more than I expected.

Amazing

Cathy_B, Jul 2018
One of the most amazing places I have ever experienced. You get to see animals up close that have been abandoned or injuried, some of which I never imagined to see if even heard of like wood buffalo and porcupines. A beautiful bald eagle, a lynx, moose, elk, brown bear cub and many others are well cared Well worth the trip.
