What a great train ride the scenery was amazing!! When asked by the Stewart if we wanted to make a breakfast reservation, we said yes we had a light breakfast with muffin and reindeer sausage that was so good. And sit and watch Alaska go by as we ate. Walk around the train went into the car with viewing glass dome.
The price was more reasonable than with the cruise line and we were able to check our bags prior to getting onto the train.

Straightforward. Check in 1st to luggage, second ticket booth for your seat assignment, 3rd, if you care for coffee, there’s small vendor in corner and enjoy the ride!

The scenery is beautiful and during the journey the wonderful staff on board will point out what to see.
I thought it was great that the train slowed down when you saw a moose, bear or eagles!

Highly recommend this unique train ride; it was amazing getting to see the Spencer glacier and parts of the topography that I would have otherwise not been able to access from the highway!

It was rainy that day but we saw some of the most beautiful sceneries and spotted some wild animals. Our seat didn’t have a clear view as it was located between the windows and was misty so had to stand up to get a view of outside

Beautiful scenery. I was able to relax and enjoy it!! There were many animals to see along the way. We seen goats, a bear, and eagles.

Great train trip - conductor was full of information and stories!
Adventure class was very comfortable, I was happy we didn't pay for the upgrade.
In case you're worried about buying these tickets here instead of from the official railroad site, don't be - they worked fine.

It was the most rainiest trip on that train trip I had ever made
But it was my BFF Julia’s first
I was worried we wouldn’t see much because of the clouds and the downpour
But Julia seen the beauty in the
clouds decorating the lower
levels of mountains and allowing
the peaks to float above
Julia found the loud drops
rain on the metal roof to make
a soothing rhythm to daydream
by.
I learned to look through the eyes of a woman from a land of no mountains, no natural green colors, no precipitation other than flash floods, and no breeze under 100 degrees!!!! I listened through the ears of a woman who is deaf in one ear and can barely hear out of the other yet took out her hearing aids to drown out all noises except the rain!!!
I experienced a new view of a place I lived for almost 50 years

I loved how the conductor clearly enjoyed his job when he made his intro announcements. The commentary about facts or points of interest from the train staff along the way helped create and maintain interest along the ride.

The train ride was smooth, quiet and beautiful trip to Seward. Check in appeared to be crowded and slightly disorganized but we arrived early and it went quicker than expected. We arrived a little later to Seward than planned but the boats waited for tours. That said when I got to my hotel later that evening 2 of our 3 suitcases were missing. No one called despite my name on tags and claim tix. I called the rail and they did have my bags back in Anchorage and offered to send to Seward the next day but I was going back to anchorage so they held them. I spent 36 hours in same clothes without luggage. They didn’t seem too apologetic, “it happens”. I would still ride again for the beauty.

This has to be the best way to get to Seward to begin your Alaskan Cruise adventure! We stayed in Anchorage for 2 days before getting on the Alaskan Railroad for this once in a lifetime, one-way trip from Anchorage to Seward. The ride was smooth, the visibility was excellent and our operators provided informative narration throughout this 4 hour journey. We were told not to miss this trip and it did not disappoint!

The railroad experience was informative & the sights were breathtaking! The check-in process was well organized given the high volume of passengers. The windows were extremely large and the seats were very comfortable.
